Reopen the file to check that the case identifier, status and visible update details appear. This is a browser-rendered record of what you saw at that time—not a certified court record or a replacement for an official order.
Find the right official case-status service
Start with the official eCourts service for the court handling the matter. The e-Committee of the Supreme Court of India describes the eCourts portal as a gateway to case status, daily orders and final judgments: eCourts portal.

District courts
For a district-court case, the eCourts Services portal lets you search using a 16-character alphanumeric CNR to view current status and case history. Enter it without spaces or hyphens. If you do not have the CNR, open Case Status and use one of the available alternatives, such as case number, party name, advocate name, filing number, FIR number, Act or case type. High Courts
Use the High Court services for the relevant High Court, select the court and bench, then search with the criteria shown on that service. Case status and history are separate from orders and judgments, which are available through their own document functions. See High Court eCourts Services.

Save the displayed status as a PDF in Chrome
- Complete the case search on the official portal and wait for the result page to finish loading.
- Follow any instructions shown by the portal. The district eCourts interface warns: “Do not use browser toolbar reload or back button”. Avoid those controls while navigating its search flow. See the official eCourts Services interface.
- On Chrome desktop, press Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+P on Mac. Chrome’s print help documents these desktop controls: Print from Chrome.
- In the print dialog, choose a PDF destination, review the preview, and adjust available print settings if needed. Check for missing text, cut-off details or split tables before saving.
- Save the PDF with a useful filename. When it may be important later, note the access date and time, court, case identifier and page address alongside the file.
- Open the saved PDF and verify that the relevant case number, status and visible update details were captured.
Print behavior can vary by portal and browser. The official materials do not guarantee that every interactive or dynamically loaded field will appear in a printed PDF.

Chrome documents both options on its printing and saving pages help page. Neither format is guaranteed to preserve every interactive feature or to establish that the case information remains current.

What the PDF establishes—and what it does not
A browser-generated PDF records the content rendered for you when you printed it. It does not establish that the status is still current after that moment, and the official materials do not characterize it as a certified copy, digitally signed court record or substitute for a court-issued order. Keep the court, case identifier, source address and capture date and time with the file if someone will need to understand its context later.
For an order or judgment, use the official court document functions where available, or follow the court’s formal process. The High Court service separates case-status search from order and judgment documents; the e-Committee describes these as distinct eCourts services.

Troubleshooting the saved file
- The search result is missing or incomplete: wait for the portal’s result to load and verify the case details on screen before printing. Do not assume the print dialog will capture fields that have not rendered.
- The print preview cuts off details or splits a table: inspect the preview and adjust available print settings, then save and reopen the PDF to verify the result.
- The portal flow behaves unexpectedly after navigation: follow its on-page directions. The district eCourts interface specifically says not to use the browser toolbar’s reload or back button.
- You need an official order, not a status snapshot: use the court’s order or judgment service, or follow the formal court process; printing the status page does not turn it into an official order.
- The file is being used later as a record of what you saw: preserve the original PDF and note the access date and time, court, case identifier and source address. The copy alone does not show whether the online status changed afterward.
