Choose the contact method the employer supports
If contact is appropriate and a recruiter or hiring manager’s address is available, email is generally the less intrusive choice. Follow the retailer’s own process where it provides one. Starbucks tells applicants to check status through its Career Hub and says selected applicants will be contacted about next steps. Publix says a store manager will phone applicants selected for an interview and advises applicants to keep their applications current. These examples are company-specific; they do not establish a single contact method for every retailer. An in-person visit is not a standard follow-up unless the employer invites or directs one.
