To appeal a suspected VALORANT hardware ban, submit a ticket through Riot’s official VALORANT Player Support. First check the exact notice: an account penalty and a Vanguard device restriction are different issues. Include the precise message or code, accurate account details, a concise timeline and explanation, and any relevant screenshots or records. Riot says logs collected with Riot Repair Tool can help support investigate, but an appeal does not guarantee a reversal.
First identify what Riot’s notice says
“Hardware ban” is often used loosely. Riot distinguishes account penalties from Vanguard restrictions associated with a device. Read the full wording and code on screen, and describe that notice accurately in your ticket rather than assuming every block is a hardware ban.

Riot describes this as a device restriction and says the notice identifies settings needed to remove it. Follow the steps for that specific message; BIOS options vary by computer and motherboard, so consult the manufacturer’s instructions as Riot directs. Riot’s Vanguard Restrictions guidance explains this route. |
Do not treat replacing hardware or changing unrelated settings as an established appeal method. If the message is unclear, include it in your ticket and ask Riot to clarify what kind of restriction applies.

Submit an appeal through Riot Support
- Open the VALORANT Support portal and choose Submit A Ticket.
- Complete the account and issue fields shown in the form. Riot’s request form lists original registration email, registration location, Riot ID, login name, platform and problem details. Supply accurate information and the account region if requested. Riot’s request form also allows attachments.
- In the description, state whether the notice is an account penalty or a Vanguard restriction, then copy its exact wording and code. Explain what happened and why you believe the action may be mistaken.
- Attach directly relevant screenshots or records, and include the time the issue began with your time zone. Keep the explanation concise and separate facts you can verify from suspicions.
- If relevant, gather logs with Riot Repair Tool and attach them. Riot’s form says game logs can help support; it directs Windows users to the tool to collect them.
- Review the ticket for accuracy before submitting it. Do not alter logs, fabricate evidence or include unrelated personal information.
What evidence should you include?
- The notice: an uncropped screenshot showing the complete error or penalty wording and code, or an accurate transcription.
- Account identifiers: the information requested by Riot’s form, such as Riot ID, login name, original registration email and registration location.
- A timeline: when the notice appeared, including time zone, and the relevant game, platform and PC context.
- Your explanation: a factual account of why you think the action is mistaken. Label anything uncertain rather than presenting a guess as fact.
- Relevant records: notices, screenshots or other material that directly supports your explanation. The form accepts attachments, but Riot does not publish a universal evidence checklist in the materials cited here.
- Logs, where relevant: Riot Repair Tool logs may help support investigate, according to the request form.
The form asks for account identifiers, not your password. Never send a password as part of an appeal.

The original account owner must contact Riot
Riot says it can help only the original account owner for security and privacy reasons. The owner should submit the ticket through their account or registered email. A friend or family member should not pose as the owner or file an appeal on the owner’s behalf. Riot’s account-ownership guidance explains this limitation.

Riot’s support request form says, “Legitimate penalties will not be removed or adjusted.” A ticket can request review of a suspected mistake, but submitting it—or providing the items above—does not promise that Riot will reverse a penalty. The public materials cited here do not specify a guaranteed response time, appeal deadline or complete evidentiary standard for overturning a hardware-related enforcement action.
