For a clearer XR glasses display, start by adjusting the physical fit so the image is centered, complete, and not cut off. Then check prescription-lens compatibility, adjust IPD if the image is doubled or its edges remain unclear, and fine-tune screen size, distance, text, brightness, and color. The controls and menu paths below are for XREAL One Series unless identified otherwise; XR glasses vary by model, and not every device offers the same adjustments.
Start with fit, not the display menu
Text can look blurry or incomplete when the glasses sit too high, too low, or off-center—even if the display settings are correct. Before changing screen geometry or text processing, wear the glasses in your normal position and check three things: the image is centered in your view, the entire display is visible, and no edge is obviously cropped or shifted.

Adjust the glasses on your face
- Connect a supported video source and put the glasses on normally. Sit or stand as you usually would while viewing content; avoid judging alignment while holding the glasses away from your face.
- Move the temple arms into a stable position. If the image appears too high, too low, or uneven, adjust the arms vertically where the design allows it. The aim is to line the lenses up with your eyes, not to force a particular display setting.
- Try the nose-pad options supplied for your model. XREAL’s first-use guidance describes three interchangeable nose-pad sizes. Choose the one that holds the glasses comfortably with the display aligned. That feature is not universal: RayNeo also advises changing nose-pad and temple position for unclear edges, but individual designs and available adjustments differ.
- Recheck the entire image. Look at text near the center and near each edge. If the image is still doubled, incomplete, or unclear at the edges after the fit is stable, proceed to the optical and display checks below.
Fit advice is model-family guidance, not a guarantee that every pair has replaceable pads or adjustable arms. Use only parts designed for the exact glasses model; pad shapes and compatibility are not established as universal.

Check prescription correction and connection before tuning text
Display effects cannot compensate for an uncorrected prescription or an insert that is loose or incompatible. If you normally wear prescription lenses, check whether your glasses model supports prescription inserts and whether the insert is securely installed. XREAL states that insert frames differ across its One, One Pro, Air 2, and Air families, so a frame intended for one family should not be assumed to fit another. Confirm compatibility for the exact model or ask an optician who can fit the relevant insert.

Also confirm that the glasses are connected to a supported video source and that the image is stable. The adjustment instructions here address alignment and viewing controls; they do not establish how to resolve every source, cable, or compatibility problem. If the display is absent or unstable rather than merely hard to read, consult the device’s current connection guidance before changing visual settings.
Use IPD adjustment when the image is doubled or incomplete
IPD means interpupillary distance: the distance between the centers of the pupils. XREAL’s One Series tutorial recommends trying its IPD adjustment if the screen looks incomplete, appears doubled, or has unclear edges. This adjustment is model-specific and should not be confused with changing the glasses’ physical width or assuming that every XR device supports the same range.
One Series IPD ranges and increments
XREAL describes 13 adjustment levels, with each step changing IPD by 1 mm relative to the center for the specified model. Its published ranges are:
| Model | Published supported IPD range |
|---|---|
| XREAL One / 1S | 59.5–70.5 mm |
| XREAL One Pro (M) | 57–66 mm |
| XREAL One Pro (L) | 66–75 mm |
These are product specifications from XREAL’s One Series IPD tutorial, not universal XR ranges. The tutorial does not state a publication date. It also warns that changing IPD can slightly reduce the maximum screen size and the farthest screen distance available.
Adjust IPD on XREAL One Series
- Double-click the X button to open the on-screen menu.
- Open Spatial Screen, then navigate to IPD Adjustment.
- Use the plus or minus buttons to change the setting a step at a time. Recheck whether the image looks more complete and clear rather than selecting a value only because it falls within a listed range.
- Stop when the image improves. If a change makes the view less complete or less comfortable, return toward the previous setting and reassess the fit.
Menu labels may change with software versions. If the path does not match the device, follow its current manual rather than guessing at a similarly named control. If you do not know your IPD, XREAL calls a visit to an optometrist the most accurate measurement method. Its ruler method and camera-based online tool are alternatives, but treat their results as estimates rather than equally accurate substitutes.
Set screen size and screen distance independently
Screen size and screen distance affect different aspects of the virtual display. Size changes how large the image appears; distance moves the virtual display nearer or farther away. Adjusting one does not necessarily correct a problem with the other. The practical target is a display that fits fully within your visible area at a distance that feels comfortable to view.

One Series display controls
- Double-click the X button to enter the on-screen menu.
- Open Display.
- Choose Screen Size and use the plus or minus controls to change the image size. Check that the edges remain visible instead of maximizing size automatically.
- Choose Screen Distance and use plus or minus to move the virtual display nearer or farther. Reassess both legibility and how much of the display fits in view.
XREAL’s One Series guide gives one model- and mode-specific example: at a virtual distance of 4 m, use a 117-inch screen (80% FOV) in Anchor mode to avoid placing the edges beyond the field of view. This example appears in the user guide dated March 3, 2025; it is not a universal recommendation for other models, modes, or users.

The One Series on-screen display also lists UltraWide and Side View modes. These alter how content is presented, but they are optional presentation choices, not the first troubleshooting step for blurry text. First establish a centered, complete image and a useful size and distance.
Make text easier to read and tune the image to the room
Once the glasses fit well and the display is fully visible, try the controls that affect perceived text and image comfort. On XREAL One Series, the Display menu includes Text Optimization, Color Temperature, and brightness controls. Their availability and names should not be assumed for other XR glasses.
Try Text Optimization for jagged edges
If text edges look jagged, open Display and try Text Optimization. XREAL describes this setting as a way to smooth jagged text edges. Compare text before and after changing it, using the same content and screen geometry. If the text remains blurred, doubled, or incomplete, a text-processing setting is unlikely to correct the underlying fit, prescription, or IPD issue.
Match brightness and color to ambient light
Adjust brightness so the display is not unnecessarily intense relative to the surrounding environment. XREAL recommends reducing brightness and warming the color in low-light settings. Color temperature is also a matter of preference and lighting; change it gradually and keep the setting that feels readable without making the image unpleasant.

Troubleshoot by symptom
Change one category of adjustment at a time. If you alter fit, IPD, size, distance, and text processing together, it becomes harder to tell which change helped or made the view worse.
The edges of the XR screen are blurry
- First reseat the glasses and adjust the temple and nose-pad position so the lenses align with your eyes. RayNeo’s FAQ likewise recommends adjusting pad and temple position for unclear display edges.
- If the image is still incomplete or doubled, try the IPD adjustment if your model provides one.
- On a device with screen-size controls, reduce the size if the display edges extend beyond your visible area.
- If you use prescription correction, verify that the insert is compatible and installed securely.
The image is doubled or looks incomplete
- Check physical alignment before using an on-screen control.
- For XREAL One Series, try IPD Adjustment in the Spatial Screen menu, changing one level at a time.
- Remember that the published ranges apply only to the specific One Series models listed above; they do not establish settings for another manufacturer’s glasses.
The text is jagged but the whole screen is visible
- On XREAL One Series, try Text Optimization under Display.
- Check that the physical fit and prescription correction are appropriate before expecting a software setting to solve the issue.
- If text is readable but the overall image feels too prominent or distant, adjust screen size or screen distance separately.
The display feels too large or is cut off
- Reduce Screen Size and check whether all four edges come into view.
- Adjust Screen Distance independently to find a comfortable viewing position.
- Do not treat XREAL’s 117-inch, 4 m Anchor-mode example as a target for another model or mode.
The image feels harsh in a dim room
- Lower brightness and consider a warmer color temperature on models with those controls.
- Judge comfort in the lighting conditions where you actually use the glasses; a setting that feels suitable in a bright room may not feel the same in a dark one.
Know when to stop adjusting
Small, reversible changes are more useful than forcing the display into a preferred value. If one change worsens clarity, revert it before testing another category. If the menus on your model differ, consult that model’s manual; XREAL One Series menu instructions do not establish that the same controls exist elsewhere.
The XREAL Air manual says to discontinue use immediately if you experience eye strain or dizziness. Do not try to push through those symptoms by increasing or decreasing settings, and do not rely on an assumed universal session limit: the cited manufacturer material establishes no standard duration for all wearers.
What to verify when comparing XR glasses or accessories
These checks help separate capabilities that are sometimes conflated. A software IPD adjustment is not the same thing as a physical fit adjustment, and the presence of an insert or display control on one model does not prove another model has it.
- IPD: Is there an adjustment, and what model-specific range does the manufacturer publish?
- Physical fit: Can the temples be adjusted, and are nose pads replaceable? Verify the exact pad shape and model compatibility.
- Prescription correction: Are prescription inserts supported for the exact model, and which frame version fits it?
- Display controls: Does the model provide separate screen-size and screen-distance settings, as well as text, brightness, and color-temperature options?
Buying replacement nose pads or prescription inserts
If a pad is missing or the fit cannot be stabilized with the supplied options, search for a replacement specified for the exact glasses model rather than assuming XR nose pads share a standard shape. For example, a search such as “XR glasses replacement nose pads” can help locate model-specific parts, but verify the model name and pad shape before buying. A replacement part that fits a different family may not hold the glasses at the right height or align the lenses for your eyes.
Prescription inserts need the same care. XREAL lists different insert frames for One, One Pro, Air 2, and Air families. Confirm the exact frame version with the manufacturer or seller, and ask an optician who can fit the relevant insert if you are unsure. An insert category is not a promise that a frame will work across product generations.

Compare the actual adjustment options
When choosing between models, look beyond headline screen size. Check whether IPD is adjusted in software or only addressed through physical fit, and whether the manufacturer states a supported range. Then check which parts of the fit can be changed: adjustable arms, interchangeable pads, or neither. These details affect how you can troubleshoot an image that is too high, off-center, or unclear at the edges.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteFinally, verify the display controls you expect to use. Screen size and screen distance are separate options; Text Optimization, brightness, and color-temperature adjustment are additional model-specific capabilities. A product’s listing or manual should identify the controls available for that exact model. Do not assume that a mode or setting present on XREAL One Series exists on another pair of XR glasses.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.A practical adjustment order
For a repeatable check, use the same content and lighting while making each change. First put on the glasses normally and stabilize the fit with the available arms and nose pads. Next check prescription correction and connection. If the screen is doubled, incomplete, or has unclear edges, use the model’s IPD feature if it has one; on One Series, adjust by individual 1 mm steps and recheck the image after each. Then set screen size so the full display stays in view, and adjust screen distance separately. Only after those basics are right should you compare Text Optimization, brightness, and color temperature.
This order is not a claim that every model exposes every control. It is a way to avoid asking a text effect to solve a physical alignment issue, or using screen distance to solve a prescription mismatch. Keep the change that makes the image more complete and comfortable, and undo changes that make it worse.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are the edges of my XR glasses screen blurry?
Start by reseating the glasses and adjusting the temple and nose-pad position so the lenses line up with your eyes. If the image remains incomplete or doubled, try your model’s IPD adjustment if available. Also check whether the screen is too large for your visible area and whether any prescription insert is compatible and securely installed.

What IPD range does XREAL One Series support?
XREAL lists 59.5–70.5 mm for One/1S, 57–66 mm for One Pro (M), and 66–75 mm for One Pro (L). These are model-specific published ranges, not general XR standards. XREAL also notes that IPD adjustment can slightly reduce maximum screen size and farthest screen distance.
How can I make XR text look less jagged?
First make sure the glasses fit well, any prescription insert is compatible, and the whole screen is visible. On XREAL One Series, try Text Optimization in the Display menu, which XREAL says can smooth jagged text edges. Other models may not offer the same feature.
Should I increase screen size or change screen distance?
They are separate controls: screen size changes how large the display appears, while screen distance moves it nearer or farther away. Adjust size until the full display fits in view, then adjust distance for a comfortable position. XREAL’s 117-inch screen at 4 m in Anchor mode is a One Series example, not a universal target.
What should I do if XR glasses cause eye strain or dizziness?
Stop using the glasses if you experience eye strain or dizziness. The XREAL Air manual gives that instruction and recommends reducing the brightness difference between the display and its surroundings. The cited manufacturer guidance does not establish a universal safe session duration.
The Bottom Line
Start with a stable physical fit and a centered, complete image. Check prescription compatibility, then adjust IPD if the display is doubled or incomplete; set screen size and distance separately; and use text, brightness, and color controls only after alignment is right. XR glasses vary by model, so verify each setting and accessory for your exact device, and stop using the glasses if eye strain or dizziness occurs.
