Use the monitor’s physical control to find its volume setting, but follow the instructions for your exact model: Samsung monitors do not all use the same button sequence. Some models let you change volume from the JOG function guide; others require you to open the Volume screen first.
Change the volume using your monitor’s physical control
- Find the monitor’s control. Check the underside or rear of the display for a JOG button or menu control. The control’s position and operation depend on the model.
- Open the volume control using the model-specific sequence. On the Samsung C27G5/C32G5 family, the manual says that when the on-screen display (OSD) menu is not open, pressing Down changes the volume setting. See the C27G5/C32G5 manual.
- Adjust the level. On the Samsung G55T series, the manual directs users to move the JOG button left or right on the Volume screen. See the G55T series manual.
These are examples for the named model families, not universal instructions. If neither sequence matches your monitor, look up its model number and use its manual’s instructions for the physical control and volume setting.

Mute or unmute the monitor
For the model covered by Samsung’s G55T manual, open the Volume control screen and move the focus down to mute. To unmute, increase or decrease the volume. Other models may use different controls, so check the manual for the G55T series only if it applies to your monitor.

Check whether your monitor has speakers
A volume control does not establish that a monitor has built-in speakers. Check the specifications and manual for your exact model, and confirm that your connected device is sending audio to the intended output. Samsung documents built-in speakers for the LF24T450FQ; that specification should not be assumed for other Samsung monitors. If your model has no speakers, changing its volume will not make it play sound through built-in speakers.

What to do if the controls are locked or volume will not change
OSD controls are locked
OSD Lock can prevent menu changes. Samsung’s unlock directions vary by control type: for certain button-control models, holding the Menu button for 10 seconds toggles the lock. For JOG-control models, Samsung describes opening the options, selecting Menu, then holding the JOG control left for 10 seconds and continuing until the indicator flashes. These procedures are model-dependent; check Samsung’s OSD Lock support instructions and your monitor’s manual before trying a sequence.

The volume option is missing or has no effect
- Confirm that the manual is for your exact model, then follow its instructions for the physical control and audio settings.
- Check whether the model has built-in speakers and whether the connected device is sending audio to the monitor.
- If the monitor has no volume setting, or changing it does not affect sound, consult the model’s documentation; there is no single fix established for every Samsung monitor.
