Casio recommends a factory or authorized service center for adding or removing links because the work needs special tools and can damage the band or parts. Some Edifice bracelets use a sliding clasp instead of removable links, while others use pinned links and clasp-position holes.
Do not force a pin or copy a procedure from another Edifice model. Confirm the construction first, choose professional service when the manual or bracelet does not match, and check the fit on your wrist before wearing the watch normally.

Start with the exact Edifice model and module
“Casio Edifice” is a family, not one bracelet design. Link shapes, pin directions, clasp mechanisms and the amount of available adjustment vary by model. The model name is usually printed on the case or paperwork; the module number is a separate number used by Casio to identify the movement and its manual.

- 【Liftable platform】The liftable platform is designed for better alignment of the punch pin and the watch link pin hole, helping you to complete the adjustment of the strap more efficiently.
- 【Multifunction】We have combined the watch link remover and strap holder into one tool, you only need this one tool to remove and install the watch link pin.Screw-on watch straps are not applicable.
- 【9PCS replacement punch needles】There are two different lengths of replacement needles in the kit. For most of the straps, you can remove the watch link pin by just using the short punch needle pin. For some very wide straps, you can use the long needle to push the watch link pin out a little further for easy removal.
- 【3PCS punch pins of different diameter】Three different diameter punches for different strap pin diameters, compatible with a wider range of watch straps.
- 【Instruction manual】The instruction manual(in English) combines pictures and text to explain to you in detail the right way to use the tool, avoiding wrong operation to damage your watch, and helping you to solve watch problems at home.
Record the identifying information
- Write down the complete model designation, including letters, numbers and suffixes.
- Note the module number shown on the case back or in the documentation.
- Photograph the bracelet, clasp and the backs of several links before removing anything.
- Keep the manual open while inspecting the bracelet so you can compare its diagrams and markings.
Inspect the bracelet before choosing a method
Look for arrows stamped or engraved on removable links, small pin holes, and a clasp with several fitting holes. Also check whether the clasp slides along the bracelet without any link pins intended for removal. These clues indicate different procedures, but they are not enough by themselves to override the manual. If the hardware does not look like the illustrations for your module, stop and ask Casio or a qualified watch professional.
Choose professional service or a careful DIY adjustment
Casio America’s support guidance, updated February 15, 2024, says that adding and removing links can be difficult, requires special tools and can damage the parts or band. Casio recommends its factory service center or an authorized service center for this work. The same guidance explains that an owner who is confident may request the procedure, but accepts responsibility for damage or loss.
Casio’s Japanese guide for module 5707 gives the same safety emphasis. It says shortening a metal band generally requires special tools and recommends consulting the retailer to prevent deformation, damage or injury. It also identifies a specific exception: a free-type sliding-clasp band is adjusted by sliding the clasp, and links on that style cannot be removed. That exception applies to the construction described for module 5707, not automatically to every Edifice.
| Approach | Best when | What changes | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Factory or authorized service | You need links added or removed, the model is valuable, or the construction is unclear | A technician sizes the bracelet with the correct tools and parts | You must arrange service and confirm local availability; pricing is not established here |
| Retailer or qualified watchmaker | You need local help or the manufacturer route is inconvenient | The professional follows the model’s pin and clasp design | Verify experience with Casio bracelets before authorizing work |
| Sliding-clasp adjustment | Your manual identifies a free-type sliding clasp | Clasp position changes; links stay in place | Only the range built into that clasp is available |
| DIY clasp micro-adjustment | Your bracelet has the described fitting holes and you can control tiny parts | A clasp pin moves to another hole | Pins can slip into the clasp and become difficult to recover |
| DIY link removal | Your manual matches a removable-pin bracelet and you have suitable tools and experience | Overall bracelet length changes | Incorrect direction, force or alignment can damage pins, links or the band |
Adjust a free-type sliding clasp
If the module manual specifically shows a free-type sliding-clasp band, do not search for removable links. The module 5707 guide describes this style as one that is shortened or loosened by sliding the clasp. The links are not removed.

- 【Two strap remover with use】--metal strap remover is more suitable for taking out the strap pin directly; watch bracket and double-headed hammer is convenient to insert the strap pin, two tools with use more convenient.
- 【Precautions】--When you use the metal strap remover and fail to eject the pin, please check whether the following situations occur: 1. The direction of the punching needle is inconsistent with the direction indicated by the arrow on the strap 2. The pin hole of the strap is not aligned The gap at the front end of the metal strap remover; please adjust the strap, otherwise it is easy to cause the punching needle to bend and damage your watch.
- 【Easy to use】 -- Turdy and durable, easy to carry, practical, easy to operate, you can solve the problem of the watch at home, save the expensive expenses, suitable for beginner families, can be used as a gift for friends and fathers.

- Open the clasp and place the watch on a clean, well-lit surface. Use a soft cloth or watchmaker’s mat so the case and bracelet do not pick up scratches.
- Identify the clasp release and sliding section shown in the manual. Do not pry at decorative covers or hinge parts that are not identified as adjustment points.
- Move the clasp in the direction indicated by the manual. Apply steady, moderate pressure. The clasp should travel along its track; it should not require hammering or twisting.
- Set the clasp for a preliminary fit. Make a small change first, close the clasp and place the watch on your wrist.
- Check security before wearing it out. Confirm that the clasp is fully closed, the bracelet is not pinching, and the watch cannot slide over your hand when your wrist is relaxed.
- Stop if the clasp will not move as shown. A stuck clasp, a different hinge design or a part that begins to bend is a reason to use service, not more force.
Because this construction has no removable links, trying to drive out a link pin can permanently damage the bracelet. If the sliding range is insufficient, ask Casio or a professional whether another bracelet or a different service adjustment is available for your model.
Use clasp micro-adjustment when your bracelet has fitting holes
Some Edifice bracelets provide several holes inside the clasp. Moving the clasp pin to another hole changes the fit by a small amount without removing a full link. The iFixit guide for its illustrated Edifice bracelet describes this type of adjustment and warns that the pin can slip outside the metal clasp, where it is difficult to retrieve.
- Count and photograph the existing hole. Record the starting position so you can return to it.
- Contain the parts. Work over a clear tray, shallow box or light-colored cloth. Keep the watch head supported so it cannot fall.
- Open the clasp fully. Identify the small pin that passes through the clasp and the fitting hole. Do not remove unrelated hinge pins.
- Release the pin using the method shown for your bracelet. Use the specified pin-pushing tool or another tool only if the manual or a qualified professional confirms it is appropriate. Keep the pin under control as it clears the hole.
- Move the pin to the next fitting hole. Choose one position at a time. A hole closer to the bracelet’s center generally shortens the effective length; verify the direction on your specific clasp rather than relying on that general rule.
- Seat the pin completely. Check that both ends are captured by the clasp and that no part protrudes where it can catch skin or clothing.
- Close and test the clasp. Pull gently on the bracelet from both sides. If the pin shifts, the clasp does not lock, or the bracelet twists, return to the previous position and seek service.
Micro-adjustment is useful for a small amount of looseness or tightness. It cannot compensate for a bracelet that needs a full link removed or added.
Remove or add links only when the manual matches your bracelet
Link work changes the bracelet’s overall length and carries more risk than moving a clasp pin. Casio’s recommendation is professional service. The procedure below explains the construction covered by an iFixit guide titled “Casio Watchband link replacement/repair”; it is not a universal Edifice procedure.

Tools and workspace for the illustrated pin-link design
The illustrated guide identifies tweezers, a SIM-card eject tool and a hammer among its tools. A purpose-made watch pin pusher and a small watchmaker’s hammer provide better control than improvised heavy tools, but no kit fits every Edifice bracelet. Confirm the pin diameter and design in your manual before buying or using anything.
- Bright, directed light and a clear, stable work surface
- A soft mat or cloth to protect the case and bracelet
- A container for removed pins and links
- A pin-pushing tool appropriate for the bracelet
- Tweezers for handling small parts
- A small hammer only where the model-specific procedure calls for tapping
Locate the arrows and the pin hole
For the bracelet shown in the iFixit guide, arrows on the underside of removable links indicate the direction in which the pin should be pushed out. Select links on both sides of the clasp when possible so the clasp remains centered on the wrist. Do not remove a link from a location that the manual identifies as fixed or structurally different.
Push the pin out in the indicated direction
- Align the bracelet in a pin-pushing stand or stable support. The arrow side and the receiving side must be clear; do not let the bracelet flex while you push.
- Push from the side behind the arrow. This is the direction specified for the illustrated bracelet. Use controlled pressure and stop if the pin does not begin to move.
- Capture the pin as it emerges. Place it immediately in your parts container. Some bracelets use more than one small component, so do not assume every pin is identical.
- Separate the link only after the pin is fully clear. Keep adjacent links aligned and note their order and orientation.
- Remove or add the planned number of links. Make the smallest change that can achieve the fit. Keep every removed link and pin in a labeled container in case you need to restore the original length.
Refit the bracelet
- Align the remaining links. Their holes must be perfectly concentric before inserting the pin.
- Insert the pin from the front side of the arrow. This is the refitting direction described by the illustrated guide.
- Tap gently until the pin is flush on both sides. Do not continue striking once the pin is seated. A pin that sits proud, sinks unusually far or will not stay in place indicates a mismatch or damage.
- Flex-test the joint by hand. The link should articulate like its neighbors, with no side gap or sharp projection.
- Close the clasp and perform a retention check. Pull lightly on the bracelet and inspect every refitted joint before putting the watch on.
If a pin resists, bends, mushrooms at the end or falls out again, stop. Repeated hammering can deform the link and make later professional repair more difficult. Reinstall the saved parts if you can do so without force, then take the watch to Casio or a qualified watchmaker.
Check the fit on your wrist
A bracelet that feels comfortable while your arm is still may become tight as your wrist warms or swells. Test the watch in several normal positions before deciding that the adjustment is complete.

- 【Five-in-one watch screwdriver】- Five types of screwdriver bits are suitable for many situations: watch battery fixing screws, watch case screws, watchband screws, and can also be used for glasses screws. The cover at the end of the screwdriver can be opened, and the inside is hollow for storing other screwdriver bits.
- 【The purpose of the watch case holder】 - The watch case holder can be used with other tools in the kit to help fix the watch and reduce the risk of sliding and scratching the watch. It is suitable for watches of various sizes, and can be used for watches with a diameter of up to 50mm.
- With your wrist relaxed, the watch should stay in place without sliding over the hand.
- You should be able to insert a fingertip between the bracelet and wrist without forcing it.
- The clasp should sit near the center of the underside of the wrist rather than pulling sharply to one side.
- The watch head should remain centered on top of the wrist when you bend your hand.
- No pin or link edge should catch hair, clothing or skin.
- Operate the clasp repeatedly. It must close fully and release only when its intended button or lever is used.
If the watch is only slightly loose, use a clasp hole or sliding-clasp position when the manual permits it. If it is substantially loose or tight, a link change is more appropriate than forcing a micro-adjustment beyond its designed range.

The manual search returns no model
Search the module number instead of the model name. Check the case back and original paperwork for a four-digit module designation. If neither identifier is legible, photograph the markings and ask Casio support or a service center to identify the watch before touching the bracelet.
The bracelet has no visible arrows
Do not guess the pin direction. Some bracelets use different retaining systems, and the absence of arrows may mean that links are not intended for owner removal. Compare the bracelet with the exact manual; if it does not match, use professional service.
The clasp pin slipped inside the clasp
Stop moving the clasp and keep the watch over the parts container so the pin cannot fall away. Do not insert random wire or enlarge the hole. The iFixit guide warns that a pin that slips outside the metal clasp can be difficult to recover. A watchmaker can remove and reseat it with the appropriate tool.

A link pin will not move
Verify the arrow direction, support the bracelet correctly and confirm that the pin belongs to a removable link. If the pin still resists, stop. Excessive force can deform the link or pin; Casio specifically recommends special tools and authorized service for this work.
The clasp closes but the bracelet feels uneven
Inspect whether links were removed symmetrically and whether the clasp pin is in the intended hole. Recheck the manual’s orientation diagrams. If the clasp is off-center or a joint binds, restore the saved parts only if they seat normally; otherwise seek service.
The watch remains uncomfortable after adjustment
Reassess the bracelet type and adjustment range. A sliding clasp may have reached its limit, or a micro-adjustment may be too small to replace a full link change. Do not bend links to create extra room. Ask Casio or a professional whether the correct bracelet, half-link or service adjustment is available for the model; availability depends on the specific watch and location.
When professional service is the sensible choice
Use Casio’s factory or authorized service route when the watch is new, valuable, water-resistant, or still under a seller’s warranty; when the manual does not match the hardware; when a pin or clasp is damaged; or when you lack a stable workspace and suitable tools. Confirm service availability and any charges for your country before shipping or visiting. The available guidance does not establish a universal price or geographic coverage.
Bring the complete watch, spare links, removed pins and the model or module information. Tell the technician whether you want the clasp centered, whether you have a preferred wrist fit, and whether any part became loose during an attempted adjustment. Keeping the original parts allows the bracelet to be returned to its prior length if needed.
Key points for a safe, accurate adjustment
- Identify the exact model and module and read its Casio manual first.
- Use the sliding method only when the manual identifies a free-type sliding clasp; that style has no removable links.
- For a removable-pin bracelet, follow the arrow direction shown for that bracelet, not a procedure copied from another Edifice.
- Use clasp micro-adjustment only within the fitting holes provided, and contain the tiny pin.
- Stop at the first sign of resistance, bending, misalignment or a clasp that will not lock.
- Choose Casio factory, authorized, retailer or qualified watchmaker service when the construction or procedure is uncertain.
The correct adjustment is the one that matches the watch’s own documentation, leaves every joint and clasp secure, and gives a stable fit without forcing any component. When those conditions cannot be met confidently, professional sizing protects the bracelet and the wearer.
