To add an Enshrouded dedicated server to Steam Favorites, copy its IP address and query port, then open Steam → View → Game Servers → Favorites. Click + and enter the endpoint as IP:queryPort, such as 203.0.113.10:15637. Return to Enshrouded and open the server browser; favorited dedicated servers are placed at the top or close to the top of the list.

What you need before adding the server
Have these two values ready from the server owner, hosting panel or server configuration:

- Server IP address: the public address players use to reach the machine. It may be an IPv4 address or a hostname supplied by the host.
- Query port: the port Steam uses to find and list the Enshrouded server. Enter this port after the colon; do not substitute the gameplay port.
The endpoint must be written as one value in the form IP:queryPort. For example, if the address is 203.0.113.10 and the query port is 15637, enter 203.0.113.10:15637. An IP address by itself is incomplete for this procedure.
Game port versus query port
Enshrouded uses separate ports for gameplay traffic and server queries. The Steam Favorites dialog needs the query port because it asks the server browser for information about the endpoint. Using the gameplay port can leave the server absent even when the server process is running.

These are defaults, not guarantees. A host can change either value. If the server configuration or hosting panel shows a different query port, use that value instead of 15637. The game port may also be customized, but it does not become the Favorites port merely because it is open.
Add the Enshrouded server in Steam
- Copy the endpoint details. Write down the server IP and query port exactly as supplied. Check for transposed digits before continuing.
- Open Steam. In the desktop client, select View from the top menu.
- Open Game Servers. Choose Game Servers from the View menu. Steam opens its server-browser window.
- Select Favorites. Open the Favorites tab so the saved endpoint is added to the correct list.
- Click the plus button. Select the + button at the bottom of the window to add a server by address.
- Enter the address and query port. Type the value in the format
IP:QueryPort, with a colon between the address and port and no spaces. For example:203.0.113.10:15637. - Confirm the entry. Save or confirm the dialog using the button Steam displays. The server should now appear in the Favorites list when Steam can query it.
Do not paste a URL prefix, a slash, a second colon or a label such as queryPort=. The field is for the endpoint itself. If the host gave you a hostname rather than a numeric IP, preserve the hostname and append the supplied query port in the same format.

Open the favorited server in Enshrouded
- Launch Enshrouded through Steam.
- Open the game’s join or server-browser screen.
- Look near the top of the server list for the dedicated server you added to Steam Favorites.
- Select the server and join it using the normal in-game flow.
Enshrouded’s official support instructions say that dedicated servers favored in the Steam client are listed at the top of the in-game server browser or near the top. Favoriting does not launch the server, change its configuration or grant access to it; it saves a reachable endpoint so the game can prioritize it in the list.

If the server does not appear
Work through these checks in order. Each one addresses a different way the endpoint can fail to appear.
1. Check the exact address format
The Steam entry must contain an IP address or hostname, a colon and the query port. Use IP:queryPort, not just the IP. Remove leading or trailing spaces and make sure there is no space around the colon. A single incorrect digit can point Steam to a different machine.
2. Verify that you used the query port
Compare the number in Steam with the server’s queryPort setting or the value shown by the host. The official default is 15637. A host may use another number, so do not change a custom configuration back to the default unless the owner confirms it. The commonly listed game port, 15636, is not the number to enter for Favorites.

3. Enable the dedicated-server filter
In Enshrouded’s server browser, turn on Show dedicated server. Without that filter, a dedicated server can be omitted from the view even when its Steam Favorite entry is correct. Recheck the list after enabling the filter and allow the browser to refresh.
4. Confirm the server is running
Steam Favorites stores an endpoint; it does not create a server. If the dedicated-server process is stopped, updating, or not yet initialized, Steam cannot obtain a listing from it. Ask the owner or inspect the hosting panel to confirm that the instance is online before changing client settings.
5. Check firewall and router reachability
For a self-hosted server, the configured ports must be reachable through the host firewall and, where applicable, the router’s forwarding rules. The exact steps depend on the operating system, router and hosting environment. Check that the query port is allowed in addition to the game port. Opening only the gameplay port can still prevent Steam from discovering the server.

6. Recheck custom hosting values
Managed hosts may assign non-default ports, and a server can be moved to a new machine or location. Use the current IP or hostname and query port shown in the hosting panel rather than an older bookmark or message. If the provider lists separate game and query values, copy the query value into Steam Favorites.

Enshrouded’s official installation documentation says the Dedicated Server is available from Steam’s Tools section. On first run, it creates an enshrouded_server.json configuration file. The documented server package currently supports Windows.
For a self-hosted setup, the person adding the Favorite needs the machine’s reachable public address and the query-port value from that configuration. A local address such as 192.168.x.x normally identifies a device inside a home network and is not the address a remote player should use. The router and firewall must pass the relevant traffic to the machine running the server, and the server process must remain online.
Changing the query port in the configuration means every player’s Steam Favorite must use the new endpoint. Keeping a written record of the current IP, query port and game port makes future changes easier to communicate.

A hosted Enshrouded server may show its connection details in a control panel rather than in a local JSON file. Look for fields named Query Port, Steam Query Port or similar, and distinguish them from Game Port. Copy the address and query port exactly as displayed.
If a host changes the server’s address or ports after an upgrade, migration or plan change, the old Favorite may remain saved but no longer resolve to the current server. Remove the obsolete entry and add the new endpoint in the same View → Game Servers → Favorites → + path. A Favorite is an address shortcut, not a permanent identity for the server.
Common mistakes and their symptoms
- Entering only an IP: Steam has no query-port information, so the server may not populate in the Favorite list.
- Using the game port: The endpoint can look plausible but fail to return the dedicated-server listing because discovery uses the query port.
- Leaving spaces in the entry: Extra characters can make the address invalid.
- Using a private LAN address remotely: Players outside the home network cannot normally reach an address intended only for local devices.
- Forgetting the dedicated-server filter: The server may be present but hidden by the in-game browser’s current filters.
- Assuming favoriting starts the server: Steam only records the endpoint; the Enshrouded server still has to be running and reachable.
Fast verification checklist
- The server process is running.
- The address is current and reachable for the intended players.
- The Steam entry is written as
IP:queryPort. - The number after the colon is the query port, not the game port.
- The official default query port, when unchanged, is
15637. - The in-game Show dedicated server filter is enabled.
- The query and game ports are permitted by the host firewall and router setup where required.
- Any custom port or address supplied by the host has replaced an older saved value.
What to tell another player
When giving connection details to friends, send one complete line containing the current address and query port, for example 203.0.113.10:15637. State explicitly if the server uses a custom query port, and do not provide only the game port. If the server is self-hosted, also confirm that it is online and that external traffic is allowed through the firewall and router.
When to contact the host
Contact the server owner or hosting provider after confirming the endpoint format, query-port selection and dedicated-server filter. Ask them to verify the current public address, query-port setting, server status and firewall or router reachability. These checks separate a Steam client entry problem from a server-side networking problem without changing working configuration blindly.
