How do you add the Weather widget?
- Touch and hold an empty area of the Home screen.
- Tap Widgets.
- Find and select Weather.
- Choose a widget style, then tap Add.
- Select the city or region you want the widget to show.
The widget displays weather at a glance; tap it to open the Weather experience. Samsung’s Gulf and India instructions describe this setup, while noting that screens and paths can differ by device and software version: Samsung Gulf setup guide and Samsung India setup guide.

How do you change the location?
To add a place, open the Weather experience and use its add-location or location-management control to search for a city. To change the place shown on the Home screen, long-press the widget, open its settings, tap Change beside the selected location, choose a saved city, and save. The exact controls may differ by release and region.

- Current location: Useful when you travel, but it requires device Location services and location permission for Weather.
- Saved city: Keeps the widget focused on a chosen place without relying on the phone’s live location. This is convenient for a home city or another place you want to follow.
For automatic current-location results, turn on Location and allow the Weather app to access location. Settings labels vary, so search Settings for “Location” or review Weather’s app permissions if the path is different on your phone.

Why is the weather wrong or not updating?
Check the common causes in this order before treating the problem as a phone fault:
- Test the connection. Confirm Wi-Fi or mobile data is on and that a web page loads. Samsung says network or data-transfer problems can affect widgets and apps.
- Check Location and app permission. Turn on device Location and confirm Weather has appropriate location access if you expect current-location results.
- Verify the selected place. Open Weather and check whether the intended city is selected. A widget may show a saved location rather than the phone’s current position.
- Install updates. Check for device software updates and Weather app updates; Samsung’s Gulf guidance points users to Galaxy Store or Google Play for app updates.
- Refresh the widget. If it still shows old data, remove and add the widget again, then restart the phone if needed.
- Review time-zone settings. Check them if the displayed place or timing remains wrong.

The service provider can vary by market or software version; Samsung’s Russia page identifies AccuWeather for the preinstalled Galaxy Weather app and widget, but that regional statement should not be assumed to describe every device.

Can the widget refresh automatically while you move?
Samsung documents a movement-triggered Auto refresh on the go option for Galaxy Weather widgets on devices running Android 13 (One UI 5) or later. Open the widget menu, tap Settings, and enable the option. Samsung says a refresh icon is visible when the feature is off; after it is enabled, the icon disappears and the widget updates when movement is detected. This setting is not documented as a universal option for every Galaxy phone or software version. See Samsung Saudi Arabia’s auto-refresh instructions.

What if the menus do not match?
Samsung support notes that widget availability, screen appearance, menu names, and steps can vary with model, software version, and location. If the instructions differ, look for Weather under the Home screen’s Widgets menu, then check the Weather app’s location and widget settings. Samsung’s cited setup steps come from Gulf and India support pages; your phone’s current menus take precedence.

Is Galaxy Watch weather controlled from the phone widget?
No. The watch has separate weather controls managed through the Galaxy Wearable app, including refresh frequency, units, location permission, and saved watch locations. Those settings are distinct from the phone Home screen widget. Samsung’s Galaxy Watch weather guide covers the watch setup.
