Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteTo add a new episode to an always-on YouTube stream, do two separate updates: publish the episode as a YouTube video and add it to the show’s podcast playlist, then add or import it into the live stream’s own playout list. The podcast playlist organizes episodes for on-demand listening; the playout list controls what viewers hear on the continuous live feed. Updating one does not automatically update the other.
1. Publish the episode as a YouTube video
YouTube podcast episodes are videos, not audio-only uploads. YouTube Help puts it plainly: “On YouTube, each podcast episode is represented by a video.” An MP3 by itself cannot be added as a YouTube podcast episode. Upload the episode video to your channel, or use the episode video already published there. YouTube Help: Create a podcast in YouTube Studio.
2. Add the video to the show’s podcast playlist
In YouTube Studio, open the podcast for the show and add the new full-episode video. YouTube’s podcast playlist guidance says a show should have a public playlist containing its full episodes, and recommends adding every new full episode and checking the playlist order. Follow the Studio controls available for your podcast and verify the video appears in the intended sequence. YouTube podcast setup guidance and YouTube podcast playlist guidance.
Choose an order that suits the show
- For a narrative series intended to be followed from the beginning, YouTube recommends oldest-first.
- For a topical show where the latest episode is most useful, newest-first may better fit the listening experience.
Check the actual playlist after changing it; do not assume a newly added episode landed where listeners should find it.

Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
3. Add the episode to the live stream’s playout list
A continuous YouTube Live feed is sent by an encoder or a cloud playout system. Its queue or schedule is separate from the podcast playlist. Open the service or encoder that runs the always-on feed, then add or import the episode video there using that system’s available media workflow. Confirm the episode is present in the live rotation and positioned where you want it to play. YouTube’s encoder-based live-stream documentation describes the separate live-stream setup.
Do not rely on the podcast-playlist update to change the live queue automatically unless your chosen playout service explicitly documents that integration. The podcast list helps viewers discover and play episodes on demand; the live playout list decides what the continuous feed plays.

4. Check playback, order and continuity
- Verify the episode is available in both places: the public podcast playlist and the live playout queue.
- Check the live queue’s order independently. A sensible on-demand sequence may not suit a repeating live rotation.
- If the playout system supports fallback media or recovery, configure it so a missing or failed item does not leave the feed without planned content.
- Confirm whether the system can schedule playback and how it handles the end of a playlist; these behaviors vary by encoder or cloud service.
For a local encoder, playback and encoding happen on a computer that must stay on and connected; you manage the media queue and are responsible for uptime and recovery. With cloud playout, the service sends the feed without a dedicated home computer running, but you should check its import options, scheduling, fallback, simultaneous-stream limits, archive handling and current plan terms.
5. Plan for the YouTube archive
YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That does not establish that a longer continuous stream will produce one complete, usable archive, so do not count on a single full-length replay for a stream that runs beyond that limit. If complete on-demand episode archives matter, publish the episode videos separately and consider planned stream restarts, while confirming how your chosen service handles those restarts. The restart suggestion is a practical response to YouTube’s stated archive limit, not a guarantee about archive behavior. See YouTube’s encoder and live-stream guidance.

6. Choose a workflow that you can keep updated
For a small show with someone available to maintain the encoder, a local setup gives direct control over files and the queue, but depends on the computer and connection staying available. A cloud playout service can remove that home-computer requirement; before choosing one, compare episode import methods, playlist editing, scheduling, fallback, stream limits, archive handling and current subscription terms.
OneStream Live’s Help Center article, last updated September 3, 2026, says its 24/7 feature is YouTube-only, requires an Enterprise plan, supports adding videos from a device, its library or cloud storage, and states a maximum duration of 30 days. Keep the episode itself eligible to publish
Adding an episode to a playlist or live rotation does not grant rights to its audio, video, music, artwork or other material. Use content you own or have permission to distribute, and review YouTube’s applicable copyright and monetization rules. A playlist update also does not guarantee monetization eligibility: reused-content review is distinct from the technical act of publishing and scheduling a video. Check current YouTube policies for your channel and content before streaming.
