For reliable Hindi subtitles on a pre-recorded video played through XSplit, prepare and time the Hindi translation in a subtitle or video editor, render a copy of the video with the subtitles visible, then add that rendered video to XSplit as a source. This produces burned-in subtitles: they appear to every viewer but cannot be switched off. XSplit’s documented Live Captions feature is a separate, speech-generated option; its May 2026 guidance does not document importing a prepared Hindi subtitle file.

Burned-in subtitles are part of the video image itself. They are the dependable choice for prerecorded playback when you want a reviewed Hindi translation: prepare the wording and timing before the stream, then export a subtitled copy. Every viewer sees the text, but viewers cannot turn it off or choose another language.

Closed captions generated during speech
XSplit’s May 2026 documentation describes Live Captions as generating captions as speech happens. For the documented YouTube Live path, open Tools > Live Captions in XSplit Broadcaster and enable Send Caption; also enable Closed Captions in YouTube’s Live pre-stream dialog. XSplit says the feature was tested with YouTube Live. The instructions do not establish that Live Captions imports an SRT or other prepared subtitle file, supports Hindi in your installed version, or preserves captions in the stream archive. - Make a subtitle file or track in an editor. Translate the dialogue into Hindi and synchronize each line to the actual speech in the video. Review spelling, punctuation, line breaks, reading speed and timing. No specific editor or subtitle-file format is required for the burned-in workflow.
- Export a separate, subtitled video. In the editor, render a copy with the Hindi text embedded visibly in the picture. Keep the original unchanged so you can revise the subtitles or export again if needed.
- Check legibility and safe placement. Watch the rendered copy from beginning to end. Make sure the text is readable against the picture, stays inside the visible frame, and does not cover important on-screen content. Confirm that the subtitles remain synchronized with both dialogue and audio.
This approach fits XSplit’s documented ability to present prerecorded videos as content. The guidance reviewed describes video presentation and speech-generated Live Captions, not a workflow for sending a prepared subtitle file as a separate caption track. XSplit Broadcaster

Add the subtitled video to XSplit and stream it to YouTube
- Add the rendered file as a source in XSplit Broadcaster. Select the subtitled video, then preview it in the scene. Check the opening, a section with dialogue, and the end; verify that the video and audio play correctly and stay in sync.
- Configure the YouTube Live output and broadcast details. Follow XSplit’s YouTube Live setup guidance to connect the output and set up the broadcast. Confirm that the selected source is the rendered subtitled copy, not the original without subtitles. XSplit’s YouTube Live setup guide
- Test before a public stream. If suitable for your channel and event, make a private or unlisted test broadcast. Check the actual viewer-facing stream for subtitle readability, timing, audio synchronization and frame placement; the local preview alone does not confirm how the complete broadcast looks.
What to know about SRT files and Hindi live captions
A prepared SRT file can be part of an editing workflow, but the official XSplit material cited here does not establish that XSplit Broadcaster can import it and send it as selectable captions during a YouTube Live stream. A user discussion mentioning SRT and uploaded-video captions is not proof of current live-stream support. Reddit discussion
Likewise, the May 2026 Live Captions announcement documents generated captions and the Send Caption and YouTube Closed Captions settings, but does not establish Hindi recognition or translation. Verify language availability in the version you use rather than promising that generated Hindi captions will work. If the translation must be correct and ready before broadcast, use the rendered, burned-in workflow above.

Troubleshoot subtitle problems before going public
- Subtitles do not appear: Confirm that you added the rendered subtitled copy as the XSplit source, rather than the original video or a separate subtitle file that XSplit is not documented to import.
- Text is hard to read or cut off: Adjust the subtitle styling or position in the editor, render again, and inspect the result in XSplit’s preview and a test broadcast.
- Text is early or late: Correct the subtitle timing in the editor and export a new copy. Check several points across the video, not just its opening.
- Audio and subtitles drift apart: Compare the rendered video against the original from start to finish. Correct synchronization in the editor and test the new export before using it in the live scene.
- Live Captions are not sent to YouTube: For XSplit’s documented workflow, check that Send Caption is enabled under Tools > Live Captions and Closed Captions is enabled in YouTube’s Live pre-stream dialog. These settings do not turn a prepared subtitle file into a caption track.
