To show Hindi lyrics in an OBS bhajan stream, add a Text source for fixed or manually updated lines, or use a Browser Source for a custom-designed panel. Check the Devanagari text in OBS on the computer that will run the broadcast: vowel marks and conjuncts must render clearly and fit the overlay. Neither method automatically synchronizes complete lyrics to the song.
Choose how the lyrics will appear

OBS documents Text (GDI+) for Windows and Text (Freetype 2) for macOS and Linux. Its Text Sources guide covers text entry, file reading, and font and layout controls. The Browser Source guide explains how to load a local file or URL, set the viewport dimensions, and apply CSS. OBS does not certify a particular font for Hindi, so inspect your chosen font in the actual scene.

Add Hindi lyrics with an OBS Text source
- Add the source. In the OBS Sources panel, select the add button and choose the text source offered for your operating system: Text (GDI+) on Windows, or Text (Freetype 2) on macOS or Linux. Name it something recognizable, such as “Hindi lyrics.”
- Enter the wording. Type the Hindi lines in the source’s text field. If you want to keep the text outside OBS, enable Read from file and select a text file containing the lines you want displayed. The file option does not itself schedule lyric changes.
- Choose a font and size. Select a font installed on the streaming computer. Check the OBS preview at the intended size; do not assume a font that looks correct elsewhere will render identically on this machine.
- Position and size the overlay. Place the text over an uncluttered part of the video and adjust the source’s layout so the lines fit. Check that vowel marks and conjuncts are intact, that no lines are cut off, and that the text remains legible against both light and dark areas of the background.
- Preview the scene as viewers will see it. Inspect the full composition, not just the source editor. If you change the video, font, or scene dimensions, check the placement again.
Build a custom panel with Browser Source
- Create or choose the overlay page. Use a local HTML file or a URL for a page containing the lyric panel. OBS’s Browser Source documentation describes it as a webpage source and notes its versatility.
- Add it in OBS. In the Sources panel, add a Browser Source and set its local-file path or URL.
- Set the viewport. Set the width and height to suit the part of the scene the panel should occupy. OBS documentation lists 800 × 600 as the default viewport and 30 FPS as the default custom frame rate; these are defaults, not recommended settings for every layout.
- Style and verify the panel. Apply CSS for the placement, size, contrast, and typography you want. OBS’s default CSS makes the background transparent and hides overflow. Preview the complete scene and verify that the Devanagari text fits and remains readable.
Make lyric changes follow the song
A Text source can show typed text or read a file, but those features alone do not synchronize full lyrics to audio. A Browser Source can display a custom page, but it also needs a mechanism that updates the words at the right time. Decide who or what will update the text, then test lyric changes and song transitions before leaving the broadcast unattended.

Track-title metadata is not proof that full lyrics are synchronized. If you use an external timing or playback integration, verify its behavior with your actual playlist, including transitions, restarts, and failures; no particular lyric-sync integration is established here.

Prepare OBS and YouTube for a continuous broadcast
Keep the complete local setup available
With OBS on your own computer, the broadcast depends on the computer, power, media files, OBS, and internet connection being available. Plan how you will handle interruptions to any of them. A UPS battery backup may help keep the computer powered during an outage, but the cited continuous-streaming guide does not establish a particular capacity, runtime, or guarantee. YouTube’s documented continuous-broadcast example is not a promise that a local setup or the platform will remain uninterrupted.
Check rights to the audio and lyrics
YouTube says live streams are scanned for third-party content matches and may be interrupted or terminated. Permission to use material does not necessarily prevent a disruption: a rights holder may need to add a licensed channel to its Content ID allowlist. Confirm that you have the necessary rights for both the bhajan audio and the lyric text, and address any required allowlisting with the rights holder. Troubleshoot the lyric overlay
- Hindi characters or marks look wrong: Try a font installed on the streaming computer that renders the text correctly, then check the OBS preview again. OBS does not certify specific Devanagari fonts.
- Lyrics are cut off: Increase the text or Browser Source area, reduce the font size, or shorten the displayed lines. For Browser Source, check the configured viewport and CSS overflow behavior.
- The words do not change with the song: A static Text source or file-reading option does not schedule changes. Arrange an operator or a separately tested updating mechanism, and verify it at song transitions.
- The overlay looks different in the broadcast: Inspect the full OBS scene on the computer that will stream, with the intended video and output layout. Check font availability and placement there.
- The live stream stops: Check the local computer, power, internet, OBS, and media files. Also check YouTube for a third-party content match or interruption; a permission agreement may require Content ID allowlisting.
