Where to put affiliate links on a YouTube livestream
YouTube lists URLs in live chat and channel descriptions as clickable for horizontal live streams. Those are the practical places to share links while a 24/7 stream is running. Clickable external links require advanced features on the channel, and each destination must comply with YouTube’s external-links policy.

A 24/7 stream does not guarantee a chat message will remain visible or pinned. Visibility depends on the channel’s actual interface and stream setup; check it rather than promising viewers that a particular chat link will stay in view.
How to add the links and disclose them
- Check link access and destination. Confirm the channel has access to YouTube’s advanced features for clickable external links. Make sure each destination is permitted under YouTube’s external-links policy.
- Choose the link location. Add useful links to the channel description. For a horizontal live stream, you can also post relevant links in chat. If the audience is watching a vertical live feed in the YouTube mobile app, those feed URLs are not clickable.
- Put the disclosure next to the links. Clearly tell viewers that some links are affiliate links and that the channel may earn a commission if they buy through them. Use English or the language of the advertisement in wording an average consumer can understand. This is practical disclosure wording, not a prescribed legal formula.
- Announce the relationship in the broadcast. ASCI says the disclosure label should be announced at the beginning and end of a livestream. For an ongoing stream, plan how the announcement will reach viewers joining at different times; do not assume a single announcement at launch will be heard by everyone.
- Keep the disclosure with the replay. If the stream remains available after it ends, add an appropriate disclosure to its description, text, or caption so the notice remains visible outside the live broadcast.
- Review any commercial-content setting. YouTube says creators featuring branded content, sponsorships, endorsements, or other commercial relationships must select the paid promotion control in the video details. Determine whether the specific affiliate relationship falls within YouTube’s branded-content rules, and use the platform declaration where required; do not treat it as a substitute for the spoken and link-adjacent disclosures.
Amazon.in Associates is one possible source of external affiliate links, but eligibility, account standing, product availability, and commission terms depend on the creator’s own account. Amazon.in requires clear, conspicuous disclosure near affiliate links or product reviews and its required Associate identification statement on the applicable site or associated social-media account. Check the current requirements in your Associates account before publishing links.

YouTube says affiliate content by itself does not violate its Terms of Use, but excessive affiliate posting in dedicated accounts may violate its spam policy. That does not make every affiliate destination acceptable: the external-links policy still applies to livestreams.

If you run it yourself, your streaming setup, connection, and moderation arrangements determine how the links appear and whether chat remains usable.
