To add a social preview image to one Wix Blog post, open the post in your Wix dashboard, go to Settings, and select its image box to upload or choose a cover image. Check the post’s SEO tab and Social Share settings too if you need to set a different image, title, or description for link previews. Wix’s documented steps do not specify a separate workflow or image rule for India.
Add an image to an individual Wix Blog post
- In your Wix dashboard, click Blog and open the post you want to edit, or create a post.
- In the post toolbar, open Settings.
- Select the image box. Upload an image from your computer or choose one already available, then complete the selection or upload flow.
- Choose whether to enable Display Cover Image. When enabled, Wix says the image appears in the post feed, custom feed, recent posts feed, and when the post is shared on social media. When disabled, it appears only in social shares.
- Publish the post.
These are Wix’s documented controls; the steps are not India-specific. The per-post cover image is the place to start when you want a particular post to have its own share image.

Set or check the social-share image and text
A post cover and its social metadata are related, but check the post’s actual share settings if the preview needs a particular image, title, or description.
Recommended Free Tools
- Edit the blog post and open its SEO tab.
- Open Social Share and review or configure the custom image, title, and description.
- If relevant, review the separate X card settings as well.
Wix notes that social platforms choose preview content using their own criteria. A configured image or text therefore may not display exactly as entered on every service.

Choose an image size that meets Wix’s guidance
Wix Help Center recommends these specifications for an Open Graph image. The source pages do not state a publication date; these are Wix’s recommendations and guidance, not independent platform guarantees.
| Use | Wix guidance |
|---|---|
| Recommended Open Graph dimensions | 1200 × 630 pixels |
| Recommended aspect ratio | 1.91:1 |
| Minimum image size | 200 × 200 pixels |
| To avoid small-image treatment in a link preview | Wix recommends at least 600 × 315 pixels |
| Maximum Open Graph image file size | 8 MB |
| WhatsApp preview image size | Under 300 KB, according to Wix |
For a general social preview, use the recommended 1200 × 630 pixel image if your file meets the size limit. If WhatsApp sharing matters, prepare a compressed version under 300 KB and check how the link appears there.

Understand the post image and site-wide fallback
Use a post-level cover or Social Share image when the image should represent one specific blog post. A site-wide social image serves a different purpose: Wix describes it as a default for pages without their own og:image.

Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →| Image control | Scope | When it is used |
|---|---|---|
| Blog post cover image | One post | Wix says it can appear in feeds and social shares, depending on the Display Cover Image setting. |
| Post’s Social Share image | One post | Sets a custom image for that post’s social metadata. |
| General social image | Site-wide default | Fallback for pages that do not have their own og:image. |
To set the site-wide default, go to Website Settings > Site and Domain > Website settings > General social image. Wix also provides page-specific image controls under Social share. For a blog post that needs a distinct image, configure the post first rather than relying on the site fallback.

Wix says that if a post has no cover image, the first image in the post is used. If the post has no image, video, or cover image, the image comes from the social tab in the dashboard.

A social platform may keep cached preview information after you update a post. Wix says each channel uses its own criteria to select a title, description, and image, so the configured metadata is not guaranteed to appear exactly as set.
Rank #4
Wix recommends setting a page-specific or site-wide og:image and entering the post URL in LinkedIn Post Inspector. Wix says updated information can take up to a week to appear in LinkedIn shares.
Facebook and other channels
Wix’s blog-sharing guidance provides Facebook and LinkedIn refresh steps: use the relevant debugger or inspector with the page URL to fetch or inspect the updated information. Facebook may continue to show previously saved information after a change. If the preview is still wrong, first verify the post’s Social Share image and then use that network’s refresh tool.
Or skip the browser setup
If you need a screenshot of a web page rather than a Wix social-preview image, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server for developers. It does not replace Wix’s post-level Social Share settings, but it can return an image or PDF of a page with one request.
For example, this cURL request saves a WebP screenshot of a page:
Quick Recap
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for the API details. Cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets are removed before capture; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up for free.
