To add your Galaxy phone to your Samsung account, sign in on the phone through Settings and follow the prompts. Samsung says Galaxy phones are normally registered to the account automatically the first time you sign in. If you mean registering the phone for support or warranty records, that is a related but separate process.
Sign in to your Samsung account on the phone

Open Settings on your Galaxy phone.

Choose the Samsung account or account-management option shown on your device. Its name and location can vary by software version, carrier, model, and region.

Account sign-in versus product registration
Signing in connects the phone to your Samsung account. Product registration is the separate web or Samsung Members process used to manage support and warranty information. Samsung says a Galaxy phone should be registered automatically when you first log in to your account on that device. If the registration site says the phone is already registered, it may have been added during that sign-in.

For support or warranty records, check your products through Samsung’s product registration page or use Samsung Members where available. The registration flow may ask for an IMEI, serial number, or model details depending on the device and product.
Find the IMEI if registration asks for it
Samsung’s US registration guidance says an IMEI is 15 digits and can be found in Settings > About phone. Follow the registration page’s instructions if it requests a different identifier. Do not post your IMEI publicly; it is a device identifier intended for appropriate support or registration use.

What account sign-in enables for a lost phone
A Samsung account on the device is one requirement for Samsung Find and SmartThings Find, but it does not guarantee a live location in every situation. Samsung says the phone needs a stable network connection and must be on for its current location to be available. If it is off, only its last known location may be available. Lost-device controls can be adjusted in Settings; see Samsung’s lost-device guidance.
SmartThings device setup is separate
Signing in on your phone does not automatically add appliances or other smart devices to SmartThings. The SmartThings app requires a Samsung account, and compatible devices must be added separately in the app. See Samsung’s SmartThings setup guide.

If you can’t add or register the phone

Check that you entered the credentials for the intended Samsung account and completed any verification prompts.

Check the account’s registered products before trying to register the phone again; first sign-in may already have registered it.

If the site rejects the identifier, confirm that you entered the requested IMEI, serial number, or model information from the phone itself.

If the phone is associated with an account you cannot access, contact Samsung Support for guidance specific to your model and region.
