There is no documented YouTube switch that automatically adds a persistent membership callout to a prerecorded 24/7 stream. To show one, either put the message in the video image (or an encoder overlay) or post and pin it in live chat. Use an in-video message when it must appear as part of the picture; use chat for a prompt viewers can read beside the stream on eligible YouTube watch pages.
Choose where the callout should appear

Use wording that points viewers to the channel’s Join button or its memberships and perks information. Do not assume that a link in chat will be clickable for every viewer: YouTube’s current overview lists clickable chat links for horizontal live streams, but not vertical live feeds. Put the membership message in the video image
This is the dependable option when the prompt needs to be visible within the stream itself. You can prepare it in the prerecorded video or add it as an overlay in an encoder workflow. YouTube describes encoders as supporting production inputs such as overlays, but does not provide instructions for a specific encoder or for scheduling or rotating an overlay.

- Write a short, accurate prompt. Tell viewers what the membership offers and direct them to the channel’s Join button or membership details. Do not promise perks the channel does not provide; YouTube describes possible perks such as members-only posts, videos, live streams, live chat, badges, and other creator-defined benefits. Check YouTube’s membership benefits guidance and its guidance on membership levels and perks.
- Choose how it enters the picture. Add the text to the prerecorded sequence if it should recur on a planned schedule, or use an encoder overlay if your production workflow supports one. The precise controls depend on the encoder; YouTube’s general guidance does not specify them.
- Check the result in the stream image. Confirm that the message is legible and does not obscure important content. If you need a recurring prompt, make sure the prepared video or overlay workflow actually repeats it as intended; YouTube does not document an automatic callout scheduler for prerecorded 24/7 broadcasts.
Post and pin a prompt in live chat
A chat prompt is separate from the video image, so it is useful when you want to update the wording without changing the prerecorded video. YouTube allows the creator to pin one live-chat message at a time; moderators and viewers cannot pin or unpin it.

- Open the stream’s chat as the creator. Post a concise membership prompt that directs viewers to the channel’s Join button or memberships information.
- Pin the message. Use the live-chat message controls to pin it. Only the creator can perform this action, and pinning a new message replaces the one already pinned. YouTube documents the pinning control in its live-streaming guide.
- Check the viewer surface. A chat prompt may not appear to someone watching an embedded player. In vertical live feeds, do not promise that a chat link is clickable; YouTube’s feature overview lists clickable links for horizontal live streams, not vertical live feeds.
YouTube also says that when someone becomes a channel member during a live stream, a “New Member” message appears in chat and the member’s profile image is pinned at the top of chat for five minutes. That is an automatic acknowledgement of a new member, not a creator-controlled callout encouraging viewers to join. See YouTube’s membership benefits guidance.
Keep a membership transition separate from a callout
YouTube supports switching a public stream to members-only with a countdown. The available countdown choices are 1, 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes, and the feature is unavailable on vertical live streams. This is a way to offer an exclusive viewing experience, not a persistent invitation to join. YouTube’s documentation does not specifically explain how the transition behaves for prerecorded 24/7 loops, so confirm the controls in YouTube Studio before planning around that format.
