Add your church logo in OBS as an Image source, then position it in the scene preview and include it in every scene where it should appear. YouTube supplies the stream URL and key; OBS composes the logo with the sermon video before sending the stream. For a channel intended to stay live continuously, plan the encoder, network, restarts, and archives separately—a logo overlay does not keep a stream online by itself.
Prepare a logo image
Use a transparent-background image when possible. Transparency lets the logo sit over the sermon picture without an opaque rectangle. The suitable dimensions depend on the logo and the scene; there is no universal pixel size established here. If you only have a version with a solid background, prepare a transparent copy before adding it.

Add the logo in OBS
- Open the OBS scene that will show the sermon.
- In the Sources list, select the plus control and choose Image. Give the source a recognizable name, such as “Church logo.”
- Browse to the logo file, select it, and confirm. If needed, adjust its crop using the image-source controls.
- In the scene preview, resize and position the logo. Keep it visible without covering the preacher, lyrics, scripture, or other important content.
- Check the source order in the Sources list: the logo should be layered over the video and any background elements it is meant to overlay.
OBS labels can vary between versions, but the general workflow is to add an Image source to the scene and arrange it in the preview. This is an encoder-side overlay, not a YouTube Studio channel-watermark setting.
Keep the logo visible as scenes change
For every scene that should display the logo, make sure that scene includes the image source. A different scene may use a different logo or omit it. Before the service, switch through the scenes you expect to use and confirm that the logo is visible and clear of faces and text.

Connect OBS to YouTube
- In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or select the stream you intend to use.
- Copy the YouTube Live server URL and stream key into the stream settings in your encoder, OBS. YouTube’s encoder guidance says to enter the server URL and stream key in the encoder: YouTube Help: encoder streaming setup.
- Protect the stream key like a password. Anyone with access to it may be able to send a broadcast to your channel. Do not include it in screenshots, public documents, or a shared scene file.
- Start streaming from OBS. For a scheduled YouTube stream, wait for its preview in Live Control Room, check the picture and logo, and select Go live when ready.
Run a brief check before the service: confirm the correct stream is selected, the picture is visible in YouTube’s preview, and the logo remains present after switching scenes.
Choose between OBS and a hardware encoder
| Route | Best suited to | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| OBS Image source | A church that already runs a computer-based OBS production | Requires configuring each relevant scene and keeping the image file available. |
| AJA HELO Plus hardware encoder | A production that wants a dedicated encoder with built-in graphics controls | Requires separate hardware purchase and setup; current price and availability are not established here. It is not necessary for a basic logo overlay. |
YouTube lists the AJA HELO Plus among encoder options with built-in graphics tools for logos and lower-thirds. See YouTube’s encoder guidance. Choose hardware based on your existing production setup and budget, not because a logo requires it.

What continuous streaming changes
YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That guidance does not establish how to operate an indefinite 24/7 loop, guarantee uninterrupted broadcasting, or explain what will happen to a longer stream. A church planning a continuous channel should separately plan encoder uptime, network reliability, recovery after disconnection, stream restarts, and how it wants to handle archives.
A logo added in OBS remains part of the outgoing video only while the encoder is sending that composition. If OBS stops, the computer loses power, or the connection drops, the logo cannot keep the broadcast running.

Common problems and fixes
- The logo is not visible: Check that the Image source is enabled in the active scene, that its file path still points to the logo, and that it is layered above the video in the Sources list.
- The logo disappears after a scene change: Add the image source to each scene that should show it, then check the scene transitions in preview.
- The logo has a solid box behind it: Use a transparent-background version of the image, if available.
- The logo covers sermon content: Resize or reposition it in the preview so it does not obscure the preacher, lyrics, or scripture.
- YouTube receives no picture: Check the encoder’s stream URL and key against the selected stream in Live Control Room, then confirm OBS is actively streaming and YouTube shows its preview.
- A stream key may have been exposed: Treat it as compromised; replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder before broadcasting again.
Or let it run in the cloud
If the goal is a pre-recorded sermon stream that stays on YouTube without keeping a church computer running, StreamNeo runs uploaded videos from the cloud. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add the YouTube stream key once, and go live. It does not go live from a camera and streams to YouTube only.
Quick Recap
- Nothing has to stay on at the church or at home for the cloud stream to continue.
- Videos stream as uploaded, at any quality up to 4K 60fps, for one flat price per slot.
- StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free, with no card required.
- Monthly pricing: $9.99 per month.
