As of October 7, 2026, The Crew Motorfest’s new free island is Kauaʻi. Update the game, open its Playlist or Activity menu, and select Kauaʻi Expeditions to begin the island’s exploration campaign. Ubisoft’s official materials do not specify a button-by-button menu path or a required player level, so the exact interface prompt may vary.
Start Kauaʻi Expeditions
- Update The Crew Motorfest to the Season 11 release. Ubisoft’s Season 11 patch notes list Kauaʻi Expeditions among the new playlists available October 7, 2026.
- Open the in-game Playlist or Activity menu. Ubisoft says the Activity Menu layout was reworked in Season 10, but its official notes do not identify the exact Season 11 tile location or controller prompts. See the Season 10 update notes.
- Select Kauaʻi Expeditions and follow the activity prompts shown in your game. The official materials reviewed do not state a player-level requirement or an introductory event that must be completed first.
What Kauaʻi activities involve
Kauaʻi Expeditions is a free, off-road exploration campaign, not simply a collection of races. Ubisoft describes activities involving terrain surveys, opening blocked routes, and transporting cargo. Some activities use the new Winch feature, available on selected vehicles, to clear obstacles and move cargo. See Ubisoft’s Season 11 overview.

The island has 95 km of asphalt and 105 km of off-road routes, figures Ubisoft gives in its 2026 Season 11 overview. The overview also says Road Progression records exploration and gradually reveals routes across Oʻahu, Maui, and Kauaʻi; that feature became available October 7, 2026.
Kauaʻi and Niʻihau are different islands with different access
If you mean the new Tomb Raider-themed island, that is Niʻihau, not Kauaʻi. Its “Secrets of Ni’ihau” playlist and island access are provided through Year Pass 4 or separately sold DLC. Kauaʻi and Kauaʻi Expeditions are free Season 11 content; buying a pass or DLC for Niʻihau is not required to access Kauaʻi.

| Content | Access | Activity focus |
|---|---|---|
| Kauaʻi / Kauaʻi Expeditions | Free Season 11 content, available October 7, 2026, according to Ubisoft’s Season 11 overview and patch notes. | Off-road exploration, terrain surveys, route clearing, and cargo tasks. |
| Niʻihau / “Secrets of Ni’ihau” | Year Pass 4 or separately sold DLC, according to Ubisoft’s Season 11 notes. | Tomb Raider-themed playlist. |
Ubisoft describes Playlists as short thematic campaigns with tailored races, events, and challenges. Access rules can differ by content: for example, Ubisoft previously announced Maui as a free Season 5 island while placing the Chase Squad playlist in the Year 2 Pass. A free island, paid playlist, and progression unlock are distinct types of access; that history does not establish an undisclosed level gate for Kauaʻi Expeditions.
