1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThe VOIDJOY SkyLark S1 Pro’s defining idea is simple: a second player can jump in when a game section becomes too difficult. The Verge reports that two S1 Pro controllers can connect to one 2.4GHz transmitter, with player assignments switched as needed during local multiplayer. That makes it a potential “take over for a moment” controller rather than merely another small wireless gamepad.
JSAUX lists the S1 Pro at $49.99 when checked on October 13, 2026. The manufacturer describes it as a pocket-sized, multi-platform controller with TMR sticks, optical linear triggers and gyro controls. Those hardware and durability benefits are manufacturer claims; no independent latency, battery-life, drift or durability testing is established here.

The feature that matters: a helper can take over without a controller swap
Most local multiplayer setups assume that each player permanently owns one controller. The S1 Pro is marketed around a different situation: one person is playing, reaches a difficult section, and another person takes control briefly. The Verge’s September 1, 2026 report says two S1 Pros can connect to a single 2.4GHz transmitter. It also describes switching player assignments so the second player can take over in a local multiplayer game.

That arrangement could be useful for a child who is stuck on a boss, a family member learning a new game, or a friend who wants to demonstrate a technique without ending the current session. The handoff is the product’s central reason to consider it. The available report does not provide independent testing of how quickly the reassignment works, how many games recognize it correctly, or whether every local multiplayer title behaves the same way.

Why one shared receiver changes the setup
A shared 2.4GHz transmitter means the two controllers are treated as part of one receiver arrangement rather than requiring two separate wireless adapters. According to The Verge’s account, player assignments can then be changed when assistance is needed. That is different from simply owning two Bluetooth controllers: the advertised benefit is the ability to move the active player role between the two S1 Pros during the session.
The report does not identify a universal button sequence for pairing or reassignment. Follow the instructions supplied with the controller and the host platform, and verify the game’s own local-multiplayer behavior before relying on the feature for a specific title.
What the S1 Pro is reported to include
| Feature | What is established | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| 2.4GHz wireless | The Verge reports that two S1 Pros can share one 2.4GHz transmitter and switch player assignments. | No independent test results or game-by-game compatibility list is available. |
| Bluetooth | The Verge identifies Bluetooth as one of the connection options. | The evidence does not map Bluetooth support to particular consoles, computers or mobile devices. |
| USB-C | The Verge names USB-C connectivity. | The available material does not specify which platforms support a wired connection or whether every USB-C function is available on every host. |
| TMR sticks | JSAUX and The Verge describe TMR (tunnel magnetoresistance) sticks. | No measured drift rate, dead-zone result, travel measurement or longevity test is established. |
| Gyro controls | The Verge reports gyro controls. | Game support and calibration behavior are not documented in the available evidence. |
| Adjustable trigger travel | The Verge reports adjustable trigger-throw distances; JSAUX calls the triggers optical linear triggers. | No independent trigger-response or durability measurement is available. |
TMR sticks: a hardware claim, not a test result
TMR sticks use magnetic sensing rather than the traditional contact arrangement found in many older analog modules. JSAUX presents the S1 Pro’s TMR sticks as a feature of the design, and The Verge calls them Switch-like TMR sticks. That explains what hardware the product is advertised to use, but it does not prove a particular drift resistance, precision level or lifespan. Those outcomes depend on implementation, calibration, firmware and use.

Optical linear triggers with adjustable travel
JSAUX lists optical linear triggers, while The Verge says the trigger throw distance can be adjusted. A shorter throw can suit games that benefit from a quick input; a longer throw can provide more physical movement for players who prefer finer control. The available information does not state the adjustment range, the mechanism used to change it, or whether a game can detect different trigger settings. Treat the adjustment as a hardware option to confirm in the included documentation rather than as a measured performance advantage.

Gyro input for motion-enabled games
The Verge includes gyro controls in its feature description. That may matter for games that use motion aiming or steering, but support is ultimately determined by the host platform and the game. No calibration procedure, sensitivity range or supported-title list is established, so check the game’s controller settings after connecting.
Connection modes and platform compatibility
The reported connection choices are Bluetooth, 2.4GHz and USB-C. They should not be treated as interchangeable on every device. The available evidence does not provide a device-by-device compatibility matrix, and the manufacturer’s “multi-platform” wording is broader than a list of tested consoles, operating systems and games.
Nintendo Switch 2
The Verge says the controller can wake a Nintendo Switch 2. That is a specific claim about waking the console, not a guarantee that every game, input feature or connection mode works identically on Switch 2. The report also does not establish whether the helping-hand arrangement works in every Switch 2 local multiplayer title.
Bluetooth, 2.4GHz and USB-C are different paths
- 2.4GHz: This is the mode directly associated with the two-controller, one-transmitter handoff described by The Verge.
- Bluetooth: The controller is reported to support it, but the supported hosts and feature limits are not specified.
- USB-C: USB-C connectivity is reported, yet the evidence does not say which platforms accept it as an input connection or whether the port has additional functions.
Before buying for a particular device, confirm the current compatibility information supplied by JSAUX and the host platform. Pay special attention to whether the platform accepts the chosen mode, whether gyro input is passed through, and whether local multiplayer permits controller reassignment.

How to use the helping-hand arrangement
The following workflow reflects the reported feature without inventing undocumented button names or menu paths. The exact pairing controls should come from the S1 Pro’s manual and the host device’s current software.
- Confirm the game’s local multiplayer rules. Make sure the title supports the number of local players you need and allows a second input to join without restarting the level.
- Choose the connection mode. If the goal is the shared-receiver handoff, start with the 2.4GHz setup because that is the mode specifically linked to two S1 Pros sharing one transmitter in The Verge’s report.
- Connect the transmitter or cable to the host. Use the host’s documented procedure for recognizing a wireless receiver or USB-C controller. Do not assume that a USB-C port on a device guarantees controller support.
- Pair the first S1 Pro. Complete the controller and host pairing steps, then verify that movement, buttons and any desired gyro input register in the game.
- Pair the second S1 Pro to the same 2.4GHz arrangement. The reported feature depends on both controllers using the shared transmitter. Confirm that the host shows both inputs before entering the difficult section.
- Assign the active player. Use the game’s local-multiplayer assignment screen, if it has one, and test which controller currently controls the character. The report describes switching assignments, but does not specify a universal interface.
- Hand over only when needed. The helper can take the active player role for the difficult passage, then assignments can be returned when the original player is ready.
- Test the complete sequence before relying on it. Save progress, enter a low-risk area and perform a handoff. Some games pause, reload controller assignments or require the second player to join through their own multiplayer menu.
Where this controller could be useful
Family assistance
The manufacturer’s phrase “Dad, I can’t beat this level” captures the clearest use case: an experienced player can help without taking the original controller away permanently. This is especially convenient when the helper wants to handle one boss pattern, traversal section or puzzle and then return control.
Demonstrations and coaching
A teacher, parent or friend can demonstrate a movement technique in the same session. The shared-transmitter concept reduces the need to unplug one controller and reconnect another, provided the particular game accepts the reassignment.
Local co-op troubleshooting
Two identical controllers can simplify a local setup when players need to alternate between cooperative play and assistance. It does not remove the need to check the game’s player-count and controller rules.

What is not established about the S1 Pro
Several buying questions remain unanswered by the available material. They are worth identifying because small wireless controllers are often judged on details that marketing descriptions do not quantify.
- No independent battery-life figure is provided.
- No dimensions or weight are established beyond JSAUX’s “pocket-sized” description.
- No measured wireless latency, range or interference result is available.
- No independent evidence confirms drift resistance, trigger lifespan or long-term durability.
- No complete platform-by-platform compatibility matrix is provided.
- No list of games confirmed to support live player reassignment is available.
- No Amazon availability was confirmed; the exact product name is the best specific search phrase if you check that marketplace.
These gaps do not disprove the advertised features. They define what should be verified before purchasing for a particular console, computer or game.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to compare it with another compact controller
A fair comparison should focus on the questions that affect your use case rather than assuming a rival is better or worse.
| Comparison axis | Question to ask | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Size and portability | Will the controller fit the travel case or storage space you actually use? | The S1 Pro is described as pocket-sized, but no dimensions or weight are stated. |
| Connection modes | Does the other controller support the mode your host requires? | Bluetooth, 2.4GHz and USB-C may have different platform support. |
| Shared receiver and handoff | Can two units use one receiver, and can player roles be switched? | This is the S1 Pro’s distinctive reported use case. |
| Stick and trigger design | Does it use TMR sticks, adjustable triggers or another mechanism? | Hardware labels describe design, not guaranteed accuracy or lifespan. |
| Price | What is the current price in your region, and is it a one-time listing price? | The S1 Pro was listed at $49.99 by JSAUX on October 13, 2026; prices can change. |
Troubleshooting a failed handoff
The second controller is not detected
- Confirm that the transmitter is connected to the host and that both controllers are using the same connection method.
- Move closer to the transmitter and temporarily remove other wireless devices that could complicate pairing.
- Disconnect and reconnect the receiver, then repeat the controller pairing procedure from the manual.
- Check whether the host limits the number of active controllers or requires the second player to join from an in-game menu.
Both controllers connect, but the wrong player moves
- Open the game’s local-player assignment screen and verify the controller icons or player numbers.
- Return both controllers to an unassigned state if the game offers that option, then assign them again in the desired order.
- Test in another local multiplayer title. If the behavior changes by game, the limitation may be the game’s input handling rather than the controller connection.
The controller works wirelessly but not over USB-C
USB-C ports do not all provide the same controller support. Confirm that the host accepts wired gamepads, use a cable capable of data transfer, and check whether the S1 Pro requires a particular mode before connecting. The available product information does not identify a universal USB-C procedure.

Who should consider the S1 Pro
The S1 Pro is most compelling for players who regularly share a screen and want a compact spare controller with a reported two-controller handoff over one 2.4GHz transmitter. Its TMR sticks, gyro controls and adjustable trigger travel add flexibility, but those features should be evaluated as advertised hardware rather than independently measured performance.
It is a less certain choice if your purchase depends on a specific platform, a guaranteed game list, unusually long battery life, exact dimensions or proven drift resistance. Those details are not established here, so confirm them directly before ordering.
JSAUX’s official listing identified the VOIDJOY SkyLark S1 Pro Portable Controller at $49.99 on October 13, 2026. The Verge’s report supplies the distinctive idea: two small controllers, one 2.4GHz transmitter and a player assignment that can change when someone needs a helping hand. Whether that solves your problem depends on the host device and game, but it is a genuinely different reason to carry a second controller.
