Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteTalabat riders in the UAE can open a du Pay wallet if they meet du Pay’s general eligibility rules, but the official du Pay material reviewed here does not establish that Talabat requires, recommends, or uses du Pay for rider payments. Treat the wallet as a separate financial service unless current Talabat onboarding or support material tells you otherwise.
du Pay says applicants must be over 18, be a UAE citizen or resident, hold a valid Emirates ID, and have an active UAE mobile number. You do not have to be a du mobile subscriber, and a bank account is not listed as a prerequisite. Registration is completed in the app with SMS verification, Emirates ID scans, a facial scan, and a PIN.

What Talabat riders should know before opening du Pay
A du Pay wallet can be useful for receiving transfers, adding cash, paying bills, sending remittances, and using a linked card for purchases or ATM withdrawals. Those are general du Pay functions. They are not proof that Talabat sends rider earnings to du Pay, requires a du Pay IBAN, or offers a rider-only wallet workflow.
If a recruiter, fleet operator, dispatcher, or message tells you that du Pay is mandatory for your Talabat work, verify that instruction through the current Talabat rider application, contract, or official support channel before sharing identity or banking information. Do not assume that a request to open a wallet changes how your delivery earnings are calculated or paid.

Eligibility and documents
du Pay’s stated registration requirements are straightforward, but every item matters because the app uses them to verify your identity.
| Requirement | What du Pay states | What to have ready |
|---|---|---|
| Age | The service is open to people over 18. | A date of birth that satisfies the age requirement. |
| UAE status | Applicants must be UAE citizens or residents. | Your UAE residency or citizenship status. |
| Identity document | A valid Emirates ID is required. | The physical Emirates ID, including its front and back. |
| Mobile connection | An active UAE mobile number is used for registration and wallet interactions. | A working UAE number that can receive SMS. |
| Mobile network | You do not need to be a du mobile customer; du Pay says it is available to mobile users across UAE networks. | Any supported, active UAE mobile service. |
| Bank account | A bank account is not a prerequisite for opening the wallet. | No bank account is required just to register. |
Have the same personal details available in the app that appear on your Emirates ID. A mismatch, an unreadable document image, or an unavailable SMS number can interrupt setup. The official instructions do not promise a particular approval time, so avoid making delivery or payment plans that depend on an exact review deadline.
How to register for a du Pay wallet
Follow the sequence described in du Pay’s registration instructions. Use the official du Pay application from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store rather than an app file shared in a message.
- Confirm your UAE mobile number. Make sure the number is active, belongs to you, and can receive SMS while you register. du Pay uses this number for the verification code and wallet interactions.
- Install the du Pay app. Download the current app from the relevant official app store and open it. Check the publisher and app details before entering identity information.
- Enter the mobile number. Type your UAE number in the registration screen. Keep the SIM or eSIM available so you can receive the one-time SMS code.
- Enter the SMS verification code. When the code arrives, enter it in the app. If the message is delayed, check signal, SMS blocking, and whether the number was typed correctly before requesting another code.
- Set the four-digit PIN when prompted. The registration instructions describe creating a four-digit PIN during setup. Choose a code that is not obvious and do not disclose it to a dispatcher, caller, or anyone claiming to be support.
- Scan both sides of your Emirates ID. Follow the framing guides and capture the front and back clearly. Avoid glare, cropped corners, or images in which text is unreadable.
- Complete the facial scan. Follow the on-screen positioning and lighting directions. Remove anything that obscures your face and keep the phone steady while the scan runs.
- Finish the in-app setup. Review the details the app displays, follow any remaining prompts, and submit the registration. du Pay says the wallet account opens once the process is complete; its instructions do not guarantee approval in every case or give a fixed review time.
If registration does not complete
- Recheck that the mobile number is a UAE number capable of receiving SMS.
- Retake Emirates ID images in even light, with all four corners visible and no reflections.
- Repeat the facial scan in a well-lit place without a hat, mask, or other obstruction.
- Update the app through the official app store before trying again.
- Do not create multiple profiles to bypass a failed verification. Use du Pay’s in-app support route for an identity or account issue.
How to add or receive money
du Pay lists three funding routes. The best choice depends on whether you already use a UAE bank account or card, whether you have cash, and whether a supported cash-in location is convenient. The cited help material gives the channels and a card minimum, but it does not provide comparative processing times for them.
1. Receive a UAE bank transfer through your wallet IBAN
In the app, select the bank-account funding option and display your du Pay IBAN and account details. You can share those details with an employer, friend, or your own UAE bank account to send money to the wallet. This makes the wallet capable of receiving a bank transfer even though a bank account was not needed to register.
Before asking anyone to transfer money, copy the IBAN and beneficiary details directly from the app. Verify the name and amount with the sender, and keep the transfer receipt until the credit appears. A transfer sent to an incorrect account detail may require the sending bank’s recovery process; opening a du Pay wallet does not guarantee that an erroneous transfer can be reversed immediately.

- When you access your Visa Virtual eGift Card for the first time, you’ll need to register your name, address, phone number, and email address via activationspot.com. These details should also be used as your billing address for online purchases, as many merchants require address verification for purchase authorization.
- This Visa Virtual eGift Card is non-reloadable. No cash or ATM access. Visa Virtual eGift Cards are emailed active.
- Funds do not expire but your Visa Virtual eGift Card has a ‘valid thru’ date (9 years from date of purchase). If funds remain after this date has passed, please call the Toll Free number found on your Visa Virtual eGift Card for a replacement card. A one-time purchase fee applies at the time of checkout.
- This item is not eligible for refund, resale, or return. Available for sale within the United States only. Not available to residents of Puerto Rico, Hawaii, New Mexico, South Dakota, West Virginia and the US Virgin Islands.
Nothing in the general du Pay instructions says that Talabat uses this IBAN for rider earnings. If you are considering it for delivery income, obtain confirmation from the current Talabat payment instructions first.

2. Add cash at a supported kiosk or ATM
For cash funding, use the location finder in the du Pay app. The help article names NT Payments, iPay, MBME, and UPay among examples of kiosk-network providers, but the list of available locations can change. Check the app for a currently supported site before travelling.
- Open the location finder and choose a supported cash-in point.
- At the kiosk or ATM, select du Pay Add Funds.
- Enter the UAE mobile number associated with your wallet.
- Enter the amount you intend to deposit.
- Insert the cash and complete the machine’s instructions.
- Keep the receipt and wait for the SMS confirmation before treating the balance as available.
Availability, limits, and any charge can depend on the location and the current du Pay terms. If the machine accepts cash but the SMS confirmation does not arrive, retain the receipt and contact the relevant support channel rather than depositing again.
3. Add money with a UAE-issued debit or prepaid card
Use the app’s Add Funds via debit card flow. The cited official article says the card route requires linking the card and has an AED 50 minimum. That minimum applies to the stated card funding route; it should not be treated as a universal minimum for bank transfers, cash deposits, card payments, or withdrawals.
Use a UAE-issued debit or prepaid card and check the app for the amount, authentication, and any displayed charge before confirming. A funding fee and a later payment or withdrawal fee are separate questions, so do not assume that one transaction being accepted means every wallet service is free.

Send and receive money
You can send money to UAE mobile numbers and receive money from UAE bank accounts or other du Pay users. The wallet also lists international remittances. For a transfer, check the recipient’s mobile number or account details character by character and review the displayed amount before confirming.
Receiving money from a friend, family member, or another account is different from receiving Talabat earnings. The general feature list does not identify Talabat as a participating payer or describe a rider-specific settlement schedule.
Top up a mobile number and pay bills
The help page lists mobile top-ups and bill payments for supported entities. Select the exact service or biller shown in the app, enter the customer or account reference carefully, and save the confirmation. Support for a particular biller is determined by the in-app list, not by the fact that the biller operates in the UAE.
Use the du Pay card for purchases and ATM withdrawals
The du Pay card help page says the card can be used for local and international online payments, in-person payments, and ATM withdrawals. An ATM operator’s bank can impose a charge for some services, so inspect the ATM message before accepting a fee.
du Pay says the wallet and card balances are the same. Check the balance in the app rather than using an ATM balance inquiry when possible; the provider warns that an ATM balance check can incur a charge from the ATM operator’s bank.
Activate and use the digital card
The provider says the digital card activates instantly after you request activation in the app. For online purchases, card details and the CVV are available in the app after you enter the MPIN. Keep those details private and use them only on a legitimate payment page.

It also states that the card is not currently supported by Apple Pay or Samsung Pay. Digital-wallet support can change, so rely on the current in-app instructions if the option is absent or the verification fails.

The following figures come from du Pay’s Key Facts Statement updated 1 December 2025. They are dated provider figures, not a promise that the same limits or fee will remain unchanged. Confirm the current fee schedule and limits in the app or the latest key-facts document before sending, adding, or withdrawing money.
| Item | Published figure | Qualification |

| Maximum permitted wallet balance | AED 150,000 | du Pay figure in the Key Facts Statement updated 1 December 2025. |

The statement also includes other transaction and card limits. Do not apply a general transfer or card limit to a particular rider payment unless the current terms identify that transaction type. A wallet balance, monthly credit ceiling, monthly debit ceiling, and individual transaction limit are different controls.

Keep the two PINs separate
du Pay says the wallet MPIN and card PIN are separate codes and recommends using different combinations. Do not reuse the same four digits for both, and never write either code on the card or share it over a phone call or chat.
Protect identity and payment details
- Keep your phone, SIM, MPIN, card PIN, OTPs, card number, and CVV under your control.
- Do not send an Emirates ID image or selfie to a person who claims that Talabat or du Pay needs it outside the official app or support process.
- Install app updates from the official app store and use a device lock.
- Review wallet activity regularly and report an unfamiliar transaction through the provider’s official support route.
- Keep your profile details and identity documents current as requested by the provider.
Why access might be restricted
du Pay’s key-facts document warns that wallet service can be restricted or suspended for compliance issues, suspected fraudulent or unauthorised activity, repeated payment failures, or misuse. This is a general provider warning, not a prediction that a particular rider’s account will be suspended. If access is restricted, stop repeated login or payment attempts, preserve any transaction references, and use the official support process to establish what information or action is required.

Separate the question “Can I use du Pay?” from “Will Talabat pay me through du Pay?” The general du Pay materials establish wallet eligibility and features, but they do not document a Talabat rider onboarding flow, a Talabat-du Pay partnership, a salary arrangement, or a required wallet IBAN.

- Ask how payment references, failed transfers, refunds, and account changes are handled before replacing an existing payment method.
- Keep copies of the instruction, your submitted details, and each payment confirmation.
Do not delay an onboarding step or pay a third party simply because someone says a du Pay wallet is compulsory. Only an authoritative, current Talabat source can establish a rider-specific requirement.
Common problems and practical fixes
The SMS code does not arrive
Confirm that the UAE number is active, has signal, and was entered correctly. Check whether your phone blocks service messages, then request a new code through the app. If the number has changed, resolve access to the original number through official support instead of opening a second wallet.
The Emirates ID scan is rejected
Clean the camera lens, use bright indirect light, place the ID on a flat surface, and capture the entire front and back without glare. Make sure the document is valid and the information is legible. Repeated failures should be escalated through du Pay’s support channel.
The facial scan fails
Use even lighting, look directly at the camera, follow the movement prompts, and remove anything covering your face. A different device or a current app version can resolve a technical capture problem, but it cannot replace the identity check.
A cash deposit is not reflected
Do not make a second deposit immediately. Keep the kiosk or ATM receipt, note the location, time, amount, and mobile number entered, and use the official support process. Wait for the promised SMS confirmation described by the cash-in instructions before treating the funds as available.
A card top-up is declined
Confirm that the card was issued in the UAE, is eligible for online or wallet funding, and meets the stated AED 50 minimum for that route. Check the app for an authentication prompt or displayed fee. If the bank declined the transaction, contact the card issuer; if the wallet shows an error after the bank approved it, retain the reference and contact du Pay.
An ATM shows a balance different from what you expect
Check the balance in the du Pay app because the provider says the wallet and card balances are the same. Remember that an ATM balance inquiry itself can generate a charge from the ATM operator’s bank, so avoid repeated inquiries while investigating.
