A student ID does not unlock every product for free: Photoshop is normally offered to students through a paid Creative Cloud Pro subscription after a seven-day trial. Adobe’s separate free Photoshop offer in India is delivered through participating accredited institutions.
Which student offers are actually free?
Google’s student offer varies by region. Google’s August 19, 2026 announcement describes one year of Google AI Pro at no cost for eligible college students in the United States, and one year of Google AI Plus for eligible students outside the U.S. Eligibility and current local terms appear on Google’s student offer page; availability is limited to supported countries or regions.

Google’s U.S. page lists December 31, 2026 as the redemption deadline. |
| Google AI Plus | Eligible students outside the U.S. in supported regions | 2x higher Gemini usage limits and 400 GB storage, as described in Google’s 2026 announcement. | One year, according to the announcement. Check the local offer terms for renewal price and conditions; the cited U.S. price does not apply globally. |

How to claim Google’s student offer
- Open one.google.com/ai-student and check which offer is available for your account and region.
- Select the offer and complete student verification through SheerID if prompted. Google’s general terms require enrollment at a higher-education institution in a supported region and age 18 or older.
- Sign in with a personal Google Account and follow the subscription steps. Google requires a Google Payments account and qualifying payment method; the U.S. offer page specifically says a valid payment method is required.
- Before confirming, note the offer end date, renewal terms and the date you would need to cancel to avoid a charge.
For the current U.S. offer, Google says eligible students must be at least 18, can include new users and students whose 2025 AI Pro trial expired, and must redeem by December 31, 2026. Those terms are specific to the U.S. offer and may not describe offers elsewhere.

Eligibility checks and common reasons the offer may not appear
A student ID by itself is not a universal redemption method. Google uses online enrollment verification, and the offer’s rules also apply to the account and payment setup. Google’s general terms list exclusions that include supervised accounts, family group membership, enterprise purchasers, certain discounted Pixel bundle subscribers, and Google One subscriptions obtained through a third party or affiliate. Check the current Google offer terms if your account does not qualify or the offer is not shown.
Google Help says Pro student offers generally require SheerID reverification every 12 months for up to four consecutive years. If you do not reverify, the offer may end and regular-price charges may apply. Students who already have a Google subscription should read Google’s help page on student offers before switching: changing offers can affect billing or the plan immediately.

What “free Photoshop for students” means
Adobe’s standard student offer is not a free standalone Photoshop license. Photoshop is included in Creative Cloud Pro student pricing, which has a seven-day free trial followed by a paid membership. Adobe’s student page shows localized pricing, so check the page for your country rather than relying on a price quoted for another market.
Adobe says a verified school-issued email can establish student eligibility for the student price. If email verification is unavailable, Adobe may ask for additional proof. The offer is a discount on a paid subscription, not a claim that an ID makes Photoshop free.

India’s institution-based offer
Adobe’s February 19, 2026 announcement describes free access to Photoshop, Acrobat and Firefly through accredited higher-education institutions in India, as part of a partnership with the Government of India and NASSCOM FutureSkills Prime. It is not a universal individual redemption for any student with an ID. Ask your institution whether it participates and how students receive access. Adobe also said the broader initiative was slated to have Content Creator Labs at 15,000 schools and 500 colleges; that announcement does not establish that every institution or student is already participating.
Manage the end of the free period
Google says the U.S. AI Pro offer renews at $19.99 per month after one year unless canceled earlier. Google’s general help explains that an offer can convert to a paid plan at its end, subject to applicable law. Adobe’s standard student route becomes paid after its seven-day trial. If you do not want a charge, use the account’s subscription or membership settings to review the end date and cancel before renewal; keep the confirmation for your records.
Because eligibility, billing rules and product inclusions can change, use the live Google or Adobe page for your country as the final authority before accepting an offer.
