Spotify Music Quiz is a quiz built into the Spotify app and tied to a specific artist. You open it from the Now Playing screen while a participating artist’s music plays. You answer trivia, art and song-identification questions, and a score appears when you finish. You can then share it. Spotify hasn’t published how that score is calculated.
How to find and play it
- Update the Spotify app.
- Play a track by an artist that has a quiz.
- Open the Now Playing view and scroll down to the Music Quiz card.
- Tap the card and answer the questions about the artist and their music.
- Finish the quiz to reveal your score, then share it or challenge a friend where offered.
Spotify’s wording is “Finish the quiz to reveal your score” (Spotify newsroom, October 6, 2026).

What the quiz asks
The quiz covers one selected artist. It isn’t a test of your own listening history. Spotify describes three formats:
- Music trivia about the artist.
- Album-cover art reveals, where you identify the release.
- Name that song, using an audio preview.
Spotify says the questions span an artist’s catalog, career milestones and defining moments (source).

How scoring works
A score is revealed once you complete the quiz. Spotify’s official announcements don’t say how it’s calculated. They don’t give point values, time bonuses, streaks, penalties or a ranking formula. Anything more specific would be guesswork, so treat the score as a simple result of how well you answered.
Sharing and challenging friends
Spotify’s general announcement says players can share results and challenge friends. The most detailed documented flow comes from the BTS quiz (Spotify newsroom, March 20, 2026):

That flow is documented for the BTS quiz. Don’t assume every artist’s quiz works exactly the same way.

Spotify reported quizzes for more than 2,000 artists. At launch, quizzes for select artists were in English, with more artists, languages and markets planned. The rollout is gradual, so some artists or accounts may not show the card yet (source).
The BTS quiz was announced separately in March 2026 for Premium listeners globally. It was offered in English, Indonesian, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish. That describes that quiz at announcement, not the wider feature today.
