Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Short answer: ordinary alarms in the built-in Clock app are documented as local to each phone. The official Android and iPhone guides do not say that an alarm created on one phone appears on another. Google does document alarm synchronization between a Pixel phone and Pixel Watch, including a specific disconnected-device behavior. Samsung documents a different, Bluetooth-connected phone-and-watch arrangement. If you need two phones to wake you, set an alarm independently on the second phone unless the exact app and devices document synchronization.
What “shared alarm” can mean
People use “shared alarm” for several different behaviors, and confusing them leads to unreliable wake-ups:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Alarm-list synchronization: an alarm created, edited or deleted on one device appears in the other device’s Clock or Alarm app.
- Alert mirroring: one device causes another device to make a sound or vibration, without adding the alarm to the second device’s alarm list.
- Account synchronization: settings, calendars or other data are shared through an account, but the local Clock alarm remains separate.
- Companion-device synchronization: a phone and a paired watch use a feature designed specifically for that phone-watch combination.
Only the first behavior gives you a genuinely shared alarm list. A watch that happens to sound when a phone alarm fires is not necessarily storing, editing or dismissing the same alarm.
Do built-in alarms sync between two phones?
There is no documented general rule that they do. Google’s Android Clock instructions cover creating, repeating, snoozing, stopping and deleting alarms on an individual Android device, but do not describe copying that list to another phone. See Google’s Android alarm guide.

Apple’s iPhone Clock guide likewise explains setting a regular alarm, choosing repeat days, labels, sounds, snooze and snooze duration on an iPhone. It does not describe sharing a regular Clock alarm list with another iPhone. Regular Clock alarms are also separate from a Health sleep schedule. The relevant instructions are in Apple’s iPhone Clock guide.
That means an alarm set for 7:00 on one phone should not be assumed to appear at 7:00 on another phone, even when both phones use the same account, family group or operating-system platform. The absence of documented phone-to-phone synchronization is important: it is not evidence that synchronization happens silently, and it gives you no guaranteed behavior for edits, deletions or dismissal.
Google Pixel phone and Pixel Watch: the documented sync case
Google does provide an explicit alarm-sync feature for a Pixel phone paired with a Pixel Watch. This is a phone-to-watch feature, not evidence that two Pixel phones share their Clock alarms. Google’s instructions are at “Sync an alarm between your Pixel phone and Pixel Watch”.
Enable Alarm sync
- On the Pixel phone, open the Clock app.
- Open the Clock settings and select Alarm sync.
- Choose the paired Pixel Watch when prompted.
- Select whether you want Adaptive ringing or for the alarm to ring on both the watch and the phone, using the options shown by your software version.
Google says each synced alarm can alert both devices. With adaptive ringing, the first alert depends on which device is active and whether the watch is being worn. If the alarm is not turned off, it can proceed to ring on both devices.
What if the Pixel devices are not connected?
For this documented Pixel phone-to-Pixel Watch setup, Google states: “If the devices aren’t connected, your alarm rings on both your phone and your watch.” “Not connected” is a narrow, device-specific condition in this guidance; it should not be generalized to two phones or to every third-party alarm service.

Google’s instructions do not establish that an alarm edited while a phone is offline will later reconcile with another phone, nor do they explain conflict resolution if the same alarm is changed independently. They also do not establish that dismissing an alert on one phone cancels an alert on a second phone. Those behaviors should not be promised unless the particular app documents them.
If Pixel alarm sync is not working
- Confirm that the watch selected under Alarm sync is the intended paired watch.
- Check that the Pixel phone, Pixel Watch and Clock app are updated.
- Verify that the alarm is enabled and that its repeat days, sound and volume are appropriate.
- Test a short-term alarm while the devices are connected, then test the documented disconnected case rather than relying on a critical wake-up.
- Remember that adaptive ringing may make the first sound come from only one device; this is different from the alarm failing.
Samsung phone and Galaxy watch: mirroring without an alarm-list copy
Samsung documents a different arrangement for a Samsung phone and smart watch. When the phone and watch are Bluetooth-connected, alarms set on the phone sound on both devices, but they do not sync into the watch’s Alarm app. Samsung states this distinction in its smart-watch alarm guidance.

Alarms created or edited on the watch are exclusive to the watch. Deleting such an alarm removes it from the watch, not from the phone’s alarm list. In other words, a connected phone alarm can be mirrored as an alert while the two alarm lists remain separate.
Samsung’s cited guidance does not state whether a phone alarm will sound on the watch when Bluetooth is disconnected. Do not infer Samsung’s offline behavior from Google’s Pixel statement: the products and synchronization designs are different. Screens and setting names can also vary by provider, software version and model.
What iCloud and cross-device features do—and do not—prove
Using the same Apple Account on multiple devices is not proof that regular Clock alarms synchronize. Apple’s general iCloud setup guide lets you choose which apps and features use iCloud on each device, but it does not state that the regular iPhone Clock alarm list is shared.

Calendars, reminders, sleep schedules and account settings can be useful for planning, but they are different data types from a local Clock alarm. A calendar event that appears on two phones does not automatically create a ringing alarm on both. Likewise, a sleep schedule should not be treated as a synchronized regular alarm.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesAndroid’s general cross-device services documentation describes cross-device capabilities, but it does not establish ordinary Clock alarm-list synchronization between two phones. Check the current feature description at Google’s cross-device services page before assuming that a capability covers alarms.
Apple also provides AlarmKit developer documentation, but a developer framework is not a promise that the built-in Clock app shares alarms across iPhones. The framework’s scope is described at Apple’s AlarmManager (AlarmKit) documentation.
“Offline” has several meanings
An offline alarm question is incomplete until you identify what has been disconnected:
- No internet: the phone cannot reach a cloud server, although a locally stored alarm may still be able to ring.
- No Bluetooth or companion link: a watch is no longer connected to its phone.
- Third-party app cannot reach its service: an alarm provider may be unable to distribute a newly edited alarm.
- Phone powered off: the operating system cannot run the normal alarm process unless the model specifically supports alarms while shut down.
The official material here answers only one narrow offline case: Google says a synced Pixel phone and Pixel Watch ring on both devices when they are not connected. It does not answer what a phone-to-phone service does without internet access, how conflicting offline edits are merged, or whether dismissing on one device suppresses another device’s alert.

A locally stored alarm can often ring without an internet connection, but that is different from receiving a new alarm or an edit made elsewhere. Treat synchronization as complete only after the receiving device has actually received and stored the change.
How to create dependable two-device redundancy
If waking up matters more than convenience, use independent alarms unless your exact phone-watch feature documents the behavior you need.
- Set the primary alarm on the device you normally use, with the correct time zone, repeat days, sound and volume.
- Set a separate alarm on the second phone or device. Do not rely on the same account or a shared calendar to create it.
- Give the backup a different time if you want a second chance rather than two simultaneous alerts, or use a different sound and vibration pattern if simultaneous alerts are intentional.
- Keep both devices powered and audible. Check Do Not Disturb, silent mode, alarm volume, battery-saving restrictions and any setting that can stop the alarm app.
- Test the arrangement. Create a test alarm a few minutes ahead, disconnect Bluetooth or internet as relevant, and observe which device actually alerts.
- Recheck after major updates. Operating-system, Clock-app and watch software updates can change menu names or pairing state.
For a Pixel phone and Pixel Watch, you can use Google’s documented Alarm sync instead of manually duplicating the alarm, but verify the selected ringing mode and test it. For a Samsung phone and watch, remember that phone alarms sounding on both while connected does not put those alarms into the watch’s Alarm app.

| Devices or service | What the official guidance documents | Disconnected or offline behavior | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|---|
| Two Android phones using the built-in Clock app | Local alarm creation and management on an Android device. | Not stated for phone-to-phone synchronization. | That an alarm list, edit, deletion or dismissal propagates to another phone. |
| Two iPhones using Clock | Local regular alarms with repeat, label, sound, snooze and duration controls. | Not stated for sharing between iPhones. | That iCloud or the same Apple Account synchronizes regular alarms. |
| Pixel phone + Pixel Watch | Optional Alarm sync; adaptive ringing or ringing on both devices. | Google says both ring when the devices are not connected. | Phone-to-phone sync, offline edit reconciliation or dismissal propagation. |
| Samsung phone + Galaxy watch | When Bluetooth-connected, phone alarms sound on both but do not sync into the watch’s Alarm app; watch-created alarms stay on the watch. | Not stated in the cited guidance. | That a disconnected watch will receive or sound a phone alarm. |
| General iCloud or Android cross-device features | Account and cross-device feature controls are documented. | Alarm-specific behavior is not stated. | That regular Clock alarms are included. |
Common failure modes and the right response
“I edited the alarm on one phone, but the other phone did not change.”
That is the expected risk when no phone-to-phone sync feature is documented. Edit the second phone directly, or use a feature whose documentation explicitly names both devices.

“The watch sounded, but I cannot find the alarm in its Alarm app.”
On Samsung’s documented setup, a phone alarm can sound on the connected watch without being copied into the watch’s Alarm app. This is alert mirroring, not alarm-list synchronization.

- Plug in clock with single USB charging port: the digital clock come with two usb ports, one is to power the clock (1.5 meter USB cable is included), ther other USB charging port can be used to charge cellphone and other electronic device. 3 x AAA batteries( not included) as backup, which will store the setting and keep the time works in case of main power outage.
“The alarm did not move over while the phone had no internet.”
An offline receiving device cannot be assumed to obtain a newly created or edited alarm from a server. Reconnect, confirm that the change appears on the receiving device, and maintain a locally set backup for time-critical alarms.
“One device was dismissed, so I expected the other to stop.”
The reviewed official guides do not document dismissal propagation between two phones, and they do not provide a general rule for all phone-watch combinations. Unless the app explicitly promises shared dismissal, treat each device’s alert as independent.
“The devices share an account, so why are alarms different?”
Account identity and alarm storage are separate questions. iCloud and Android cross-device settings do not, by themselves, prove that the local Clock database is shared. Look for an alarm-specific setting naming the exact devices.
Decision checklist
- Are you syncing two phones, or a phone and a companion watch?
- Does the manufacturer name an alarm-specific sync setting?
- Is the documented behavior list synchronization, or only alert mirroring?
- What happens when Bluetooth, internet access or power is lost?
- Are offline edits, conflicts and dismissal behavior explicitly documented?
- Have you tested the exact software versions and device models you depend on?
- If any answer is unknown, have you set an independent backup alarm?
Bottom line
Built-in Clock alarms should be treated as device-local unless the manufacturer explicitly documents synchronization for the exact devices. Google’s Pixel phone-to-Pixel Watch feature is the clearest documented exception: it can ring both devices, including when that pair is not connected. Samsung documents connected phone alarms sounding on a watch while remaining outside the watch’s Alarm app, and it does not specify the watch’s offline behavior. For two phones or for any undocumented app, set the second alarm directly and test it; never assume that an account, calendar or offline edit will make the alarms agree.
