A QR-to-print service can let a customer scan a code, upload a document in a phone browser, choose print settings and pay—without installing an app. One Indian vendor, Echel, describes a workflow in which a Windows computer and print-relay agent send the order to the shop’s printer. Its published policy says files are removed after printing, but that is the vendor’s claim, not evidence about an independently built system or every copy of a file.
What happens after a customer scans the QR code?

Echel says its service can use already-installed Windows printers, including inkjet and laser models. That is a vendor compatibility statement, not an independent test or a guarantee for every printer-driver configuration. What does “auto-delete after print” mean?
Echel’s published policy says uploaded print files are held until the relay sends the job to the printer and are removed after printing. It also says unpaid or unprinted jobs are cleared automatically. These are statements about the vendor’s service; they do not verify deletion from every cache, backup, computer, operating-system spool, or printer. Echel’s workflow and privacy policy

The vendor says it retains job metadata, including job ID and time, page count, number of copies, colour, payment status, and whether the file was cleared. It says a shop can see its own logs but not document contents. The distinction matters: removing a document file does not necessarily mean that no record of the print transaction remains. Why cyber cafe record-keeping is a separate issue
India’s Information Technology (Guidelines for Cyber Cafe) Rules, 2011, issued in the Gazette on 11 April 2011, require user identity to be established and specify minimum one-year retention for identity-document records, the log register, and backups of browsing history and proxy-server logs. Privacy precautions for a print workflow
A Government of India information-security best-practices document advises people who store or download personal information on cyber cafe computers to remove documents when finished. It cautions that ordinary deletion may not fully remove sensitive material and mentions file-shredder software. This is general guidance, not certification of any particular QR-to-print service. For a cafe evaluating a workflow, useful questions include what happens to failed or unpaid jobs, what job details are logged, who can access those logs, and whether files are cleared from the relay computer and printer queue. A vendor’s policy is useful information, but it is not a substitute for checking how the deployed system behaves and what records the cafe must retain.
