Nieves addressed gaps in error-page recovery, Markdown delivery, agent guidance, developer-resource discovery, contact and privacy information, structured data, and homepage content. He also declined to add an MCP server the publication did not operate or redesign the site just to gain points. The score and changes below are Nieves’s account, not an independent audit or a current score.
What the 74 score means
is-agentic estimates how readily AI agents can discover, access, understand, and use a public website. Its methodology groups checks into maturity and applicability categories: Essential checks share an 80-point pool, Recommended checks share 20 points, and Emerging signals can add a bonus capped at five points. Checks that do not apply are excluded, partial results earn proportional credit, and checks for surfaces such as APIs, OAuth, MCP, GraphQL, or MCP Apps activate only when the relevant surface is identified. Nieves reported 59 of 80 Essential points, 12.6 of 20 Recommended points, and a 2.4-point bonus for Promptway. Those components describe the report in his August 21, 2026 article; they have not been independently remeasured here. The methodology says a completed report may be served from a six-hour freshness cache, so a score should be read with its timestamp and cache context. A 74 from that report is not evidence of Promptway’s current score.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minutePC Slower Than It Used to Be?

It explicitly says a high score is not a security, accessibility, quality, compliance, or compatibility certification. The individual findings and whether they apply to a site matter more than the headline number.

What the scan reportedly flagged
Nieves described these findings in his Promptway report. They are his account of the scan, not a separately verified live audit.
- The nonexistent-page response already used the correct 404 status, but its body offered no recovery guidance.
- The homepage outline available without JavaScript appeared flat to the grader. According to Nieves, nested headings inside card links were not counted.
- A request with
Accept: text/markdownreceived HTML, and the response’sVaryheader did not includeAccept. - The grader could not find a page titled “Promptway developer resources.”
llms.txtlisted pages but did not explain when Promptway was, or was not, useful.- An About page existed, but Contact and Privacy pages did not.
- Organization JSON-LD lacked
contactPointandaddress. - The report put readable text at 4.83 percent of homepage HTML, below the stated 5 percent threshold.
An MCP check appeared because Promptway discussed MCP, Nieves said, even though the publication did not run an MCP server. That distinction is important: a check being visible in a report does not by itself establish that a publication needs to offer the corresponding service.

What Promptway changed
Made missing pages useful and supported Markdown requests
The 404 page gained links to llms.txt, developer resources, the sitemap, archive, About, and Contact. Nieves also says the same missing URL returns a short Markdown body when the request prefers text/markdown. Markdown negotiation was added for the same site URLs, with Vary: Accept; Next.js RSC requests were excluded, and ordinary browser requests continued to receive HTML.

Clarified the site’s purpose and agent-facing resources
Promptway documented developer information at /for-agents with the title “Promptway developer resources,” alongside /openapi.json and /.well-known/api-catalog. Its llms.txt gained a “When to use Promptway” section. The jobs it identifies include AEO guidance for a live Next.js site, prompt structure with a copy-and-paste example, a founder interview that includes a number, a tool write-up that says what to skip, and a sourced news filter.
The same guidance sets boundaries: Promptway is not the right source for someone seeking a model API, MCP server, OAuth, webhooks, or unlabeled AI copy. This is useful agent guidance because it describes both suitable tasks and mismatches rather than treating every reader as a potential fit.
Added trust and organization details
Nieves reports that the site added Contact and Privacy pages, an email address, and a San Juan, Puerto Rico location in JSON-LD. Organization schema gained url, sameAs, logo, email, address, and contactPoint.

Improved the server-rendered homepage outline
The homepage gained a “How to read this site” section with non-linked H2 and H3 headings, plus additional server-rendered prose. This addressed the reported flat outline and low readable-text share without removing the publication’s magazine layout.

Nieves chose not to stand up an MCP server or publish a fictitious manifest solely to collect points: Promptway is a publication, not an MCP service. He also kept the magazine layout rather than stripping it down to improve the content-to-markup ratio, adding explanatory text instead. The practical distinction is between improving how a real site communicates and adding a capability it does not actually provide.

How to check a similar report
- Run a scan: use
npx is-agentic promptway.com, replacing the hostname with the site you are checking. Add--jsonfor structured output. - Inspect the evidence, not only the total: check which individual rules failed, what evidence the scanner gives, and whether each check applies to the site’s actual services and purpose.
- Verify reported behavior: before changing a page or endpoint, reproduce the finding. For example, check the status returned for a nonexistent path and inspect the response headers and body when sending
Accept: text/markdown. - Make only justified changes: improve discovery, content, or responses where they serve users or agents; do not create a nonexistent API or protocol service simply to satisfy a check.
- Verify after deployment: test the public endpoint or page again, then rescan. Because the methodology allows a six-hour freshness cache, check the report timestamp and avoid treating a cached result as proof that a new scan ran.
