How the open worlds are meant to work
No Law: compact spaces with different tactical problems
Neon Giant’s reveal presents Port Desire as a city of distinct environments rather than a uniform stretch of urban scenery. Its examples include vertically stacked slums, open thoroughfares and courtyards, and luxurious interiors with vents, service passages, and hackable systems. These features suggest spaces intended to support different ways through an encounter: a passage for sneaking, an exposed route for a direct fight, or systems a player may manipulate.

The studio says enemies are intended to respond to sound, sightlines, and pressure. It also describes stealth and loud combat, including the possibility of manipulating patrols and security. Those are announced design intentions, not independently verified features of a released game. Xbox Wire’s reveal is the source for these details.
Cyberpunk 2077: a city that frames an RPG
Cyberpunk 2077’s open world is Night City, the setting for V’s story. Its official descriptions frame exploration alongside jobs, character customization, relationships, and choices that shape the story and world. That makes the city part of a broader role-playing structure, rather than only a series of combat arenas. Combat and player progression
No Law: shooter encounters with reported RPG systems
The official reveal identifies No Law as a first-person shooter and describes stealth and direct combat as possible approaches. A separate PC Gamer interview report from December 12, 2025 adds that the developers discussed experience points, skill trees, and flexible specialties such as lockpicking, hacking, and weapon specialization. Treat those as reported plans, not a complete or final specification.
Cyberpunk 2077: an RPG whose systems changed after launch
Cyberpunk 2077 supports character customization and upgrades, and its progression systems were substantially revised in Update 2.0. CD PROJEKT RED’s September 21, 2023 announcement lists reworked skill trees and perks and cyberware, alongside vehicle combat, chases, a new police system, and refreshed enemy AI. The announcement says Update 2.0 applied to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC owners.

That update matters when comparing gameplay: the relevant released game is not described solely by its launch-era systems. Its current official edition information presents the Ultimate Edition as including gameplay updates and previously released content, including Phantom Liberty; exact availability depends on region and platform. Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe’s official page lists the edition.

Mission outcomes and narrative response
For No Law, PC Gamer reports that Neon Giant’s leads discussed missions and the world responding to how a player actually behaves, as well as multiple endings. Arcade Berg told the outlet, “We never tell you which route to take, we say that the player can never play the game wrong.” This is an attributed statement of the studio’s approach, not proof of how every mission or ending will work in the finished game. Cyberpunk 2077’s official descriptions likewise say player choices shape the story and world. The shared interest in choice does not establish that the games handle narrative in the same way: No Law’s systems remain announced plans, while Cyberpunk 2077 is released and its core role-playing premise is documented by its publisher. Neon Giant’s developers have emphasized density rather than acreage, including in the PC Gamer interview, where they discussed not matching Cyberpunk 2077’s world size. This is a statement about design priorities, not a published measurement. The cited sources give no comparable map-area figures, mission counts, or playtime for the two games, so a numerical size ranking would not be supported.

In practical terms, the announced contrast is about what space is supposed to do. No Law’s described districts and encounter systems point toward varied, tactically useful locations. Cyberpunk 2077’s established open city supports a wider RPG framework of exploration, jobs, relationships, and character choices. The available evidence does not establish which game offers more total content or which world feels larger in play.
What is still unknown about No Law
The official reveal describes No Law as a new IP in development and says release details will come later. It does not establish a release date, final platform lineup, final world area, or mission count. The stealth, enemy reactivity, progression, and narrative features discussed by Neon Giant remain design claims until players can assess the completed game.
