How the Marvel Rivals seasonal model is organized
A Marvel Rivals season is not just a shop refresh. It combines a themed Luxury Battle Pass, a free reward track, rotating activities and occasional special campaigns. Each part uses a different way of earning or claiming cosmetics, so the requirement for one item may be Chrono Tokens while another requires completed matches, a mission chain, a purchase or qualifying Twitch viewing.
Free gameplay and paid cosmetics
Marvel Rivals is free to download. NetEase states that heroes, maps and gameplay elements are available without payment. Paid content is cosmetic: costumes, animations, emotes, sprays, nameplates and similar presentation items. The company’s stated policy is that these purchases provide visual changes only, with no stat bonuses or pay-to-win elements.

What changes from season to season
The theme, reward list, event missions and shop offers rotate. A later season can introduce a different set of costume collections and a different event schedule, while the basic pattern remains recognizable: progress through activities, redeem rewards, and watch the published end dates for temporary campaigns.
How the Luxury Battle Pass works
The Battle Pass has a free track and a paid Luxury track. You purchase the Luxury track with Lattice, then earn Chrono Tokens through tasks and events. Chrono Tokens are used to redeem rewards on the pass. The free track contains some cosmetics even when you do not buy Luxury.
Buying the Luxury track
Lattice is the premium currency used for the purchase. The price and contents have changed by season, so an older price should not be treated as a current one. Official examples include:

Those figures describe the named passes, not a permanent price list. Check the in-game purchase screen for the season you are playing before converting currency or committing to a track.
Progress and redemption
Tasks and events generate Chrono Tokens. You then spend those tokens on the available Battle Pass rewards rather than receiving every item automatically. Read each reward panel’s requirement: an item may require a particular number of tokens, while the task that supplies tokens may require matches or another seasonal activity.

The pass does not expire after purchase
A purchased Luxury Battle Pass remains available after its season ends. In Dev Talk Vol. 14 (2025), Marvel Rivals said that once a Battle Pass is purchased, it never expires and unfinished rewards can continue to be unlocked in future seasons. This persistence applies to a pass you bought; it does not turn every free seasonal activity into a permanently claimable event.

The three terms describe different jobs in the seasonal economy. Confusing them is one of the easiest ways to misread an offer.

Lattice
Lattice is the premium currency. The documented system says it is obtained mainly by purchase and is used to buy the Luxury Battle Pass. Do not assume that a Lattice price shown for one season applies to another season’s pass or rerun.
Units
Units are separate from Lattice. The documented routes include exchanging from Lattice and earning limited amounts through Battle Passes, achievements and events. “Limited” matters: the available free supply is not presented as an unlimited way to fund every shop purchase.
Chrono Tokens
Chrono Tokens are progression currency for Battle Pass rewards. They come from the season’s tasks and events, so your token balance reflects activity progress rather than a direct cash purchase. When planning a pass, look at both the reward requirement and the tasks that award tokens.

How to get cosmetics without buying them
Free acquisition is spread across several systems rather than concentrated in one permanent menu. The route determines what you must do and how long you have to do it.

Free Battle Pass rewards
Every season’s Battle Pass includes a free track with some cosmetics. The Luxury track adds the larger themed collection, but you can claim the free-track rewards by completing the relevant progression without purchasing Luxury.
Seasonal event missions
Seasonal events place missions, activities or participation goals alongside the Battle Pass. Rewards can include costumes, galleries, sprays, Units, nameplates and other cosmetics. A mission may require matches, a particular activity or a sequence of objectives; the event screen is the authority for the exact condition.
Examples from official announcements show how varied these campaigns are:
- Season 1 Midnight Features: the event awarded limited-time galleries, a costume, a spray, Units, a nameplate and other rewards.
- Season 2 Cerebro Database: completing the activity awarded Mantis – Flora Maiden.
- Season 2 match milestone: completing nine matches awarded Scarlet Witch – Chaos Gown.
- September 2026 Daredevil/Jeff event: completing the event could award Venom’s President Ozzy costume and related bundle content for free. The event ran from September 17 through October 15, 2026 UTC.
These examples are not a universal reward schedule. They demonstrate that a free costume can be tied to a database activity, a match count or a broader mission chain, and that the reward list is specific to each event.

Achievements and other activities
Achievements and events can provide limited quantities of Units. Because the cited system does not establish a fixed amount for every achievement or event, use the reward panel for the current value rather than budgeting around an assumed total.
How Twitch Drops work
Twitch Drops are a separate, watch-based route. During an eligible campaign, you watch qualifying Marvel Rivals broadcasts for the required period, then claim the resulting rewards through the campaign’s account and claim flow. The exact viewing requirement, eligible channels and claim deadlines belong to that campaign.
Windows and batches matter
Drop campaigns are not necessarily available for the entire season. Season 10 notes listed Squirrel Girl – Will of Galacta and esports drops; some rewards were released in batches, and some were available only during specific weeks. If a reward is assigned to a later batch, watching before that batch opens does not substitute for the campaign’s stated window.
Use a Twitch Drop as a timed checklist
- Open the current Marvel Rivals event or Drop announcement and confirm the start and end times, including the time zone.
- Check which broadcasts and channels qualify and whether the campaign requires a linked account.
- Watch for the required period during the correct window.
- Claim the reward before the claim deadline, then allow for the game account to update.
- Verify the costume or cosmetic in your in-game inventory rather than assuming that watching alone completed the process.
The cited announcements establish the watch-based model and time-limited batches; they do not establish one permanent viewing requirement for every future Drop.

For Marvel Rivals, “limited-time” means that an event, shop offer or Drop window has a published end date. When that date passes, the original acquisition route closes. It does not prove that the cosmetic is permanently unobtainable.
Documented Battle Pass returns
NetEase documented a Season 0 Battle Pass return from May 15 to May 29, 2025. The returning pass cost 590 Lattice and had no free rewards. The announcement said future returns might occur at least two seasons later and cost at least 20% more than the original seasonal rate. The original Season 0 Luxury pass example was 490 Lattice, so the 590-Lattice rerun illustrates the stated increase.
Official September 2026 notes also documented a Season 4 Battle Pass rerun running from September 11 through September 24, 2026. Together, these are evidence that selected Battle Passes can return, not a guarantee that every pass or costume will be rerun.
What is not promised
There is no complete official future rerun calendar in the cited material and no promise that every limited costume will return. An event costume may come back through a rerun, a shop offer or another campaign, but you should not treat any of those routes as assured until NetEase announces one.
Choosing the right acquisition route
Use the requirement and the deadline—not the costume’s rarity label alone—to decide how to spend your time or currency.

How store bundles differ from individual cosmetics
Most paid cosmetics appear in the in-game store as bundles. NetEase says most costumes can be purchased individually, while a standard bundle contains a costume, MVP animation, emote, spray and nameplate.
Before buying, inspect the offer’s contents and the purchase currency. A bundle may contain presentation items you value, but buying a bundle is not required when the costume is offered separately. The cited material does not establish one universal bundle price, so use the live in-game listing for the current amount.
A practical routine for each season
- Inventory your goals. Mark the costumes you want from the free track, Luxury track, events, store and Twitch Drops.
- Record every deadline in UTC. The September 2026 Daredevil/Jeff event, for example, ended October 15, 2026 UTC; local calendars can display a different clock time.
- Start with non-purchasable objectives. Complete event missions and match milestones first, because their end dates are fixed.
- Check your currencies separately. Keep Lattice, Units and Chrono Tokens conceptually distinct so you do not mistake a token requirement for a store price.
- Review the pass before purchasing. Confirm the current Lattice cost, costume count and reward list. Earlier figures such as 490 or 990 Lattice are historical examples.
- Schedule Twitch viewing by batch. A single campaign can distribute rewards across different weeks.
- Claim and verify. Complete the claim action for Drops and inspect your inventory; do not rely only on a progress notification.
- Keep an unfinished purchased pass. Because a purchased Luxury pass does not expire, you can continue redeeming its rewards in later seasons.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
- Waiting because an item is called limited-time: a return is possible but not guaranteed. Finish the original event when you can.
- Assuming every free reward is permanent: event missions and Drop windows close on their stated dates.
- Confusing pass persistence with event persistence: the documented no-expiration rule applies to a purchased Battle Pass, not automatically to every event reward.
- Using an old price as a current quote: Season 0, Season 1 and the Season 0 rerun had different Lattice prices.
- Watching outside a Drop window: campaign batches and weekly availability can restrict when viewing counts.
- Expecting gameplay advantages from cosmetics: NetEase describes paid content as visual only, without stat bonuses or pay-to-win elements.
What players can reasonably expect over time
The reliable pattern is a rotating set of opportunities rather than a permanent catalog. Free-track items, event rewards and Twitch Drops require activity during their windows. A purchased Luxury pass is the exception because its unfinished rewards remain available after the season. Selected Battle Pass reruns have happened, including Season 0 in May 2025 and Season 4 in September 2026, but those examples do not create a guaranteed rerun schedule for every costume.
