What sets the number of videos you can upload?
A 24/7 YouTube streaming service is a third-party service, not one shared YouTube media library. Its own plan determines how much uploaded video it can hold and whether it publishes a file-count cap. That means you need to check two separate limits:
- The service’s library limit: storage allowance, file-count cap, or both.
- YouTube’s per-video limit: the maximum size or duration of each individual upload to YouTube.
Storage is not the same as a fixed number of files. If the service sets a storage allowance, how many videos fit depends on their file sizes.

These are service-specific terms, not interchangeable allowances. The Upstream storage figure does not apply to OneStream Live or other providers. Check the current plan terms for the service you use before uploading a large library.

Upstream: storage determines the count
Upstream’s Helpdesk says users can upload “as many as you want,” as long as the files stay within the plan’s total storage, usually 100 GB per stream slot. The guide, updated 16 September 2026, recommends MP4 with H.264 for compatibility and also lists MOV, WebM, and Ogg as supported video formats.
OneStream Live: the guide gives a schedule limit, not a file count
OneStream Live’s guide, updated 3 September 2026, describes adding video from a device, its library, or cloud storage, then scheduling a 24/7 stream. It says the feature is exclusive to YouTube, requires an Enterprise plan, and can be scheduled for up to 30 days. That 30-day figure is a schedule-duration limit, not a limit on how many videos you may upload.

- Older videos: some may exceed the current limits because YouTube’s upload rules have changed over time.
Do not confuse uploads with simultaneous live streams
YouTube’s live-stream limits govern concurrent broadcasts, not the number of files in a provider’s library. YouTube requires a verified channel and no live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. Its help information states a maximum of 10 active streams per channel and three per stream key at one time. These limits do not tell you how many videos a 24/7 service will let you store.
How to estimate how many files fit
- Find the service’s storage allowance for the specific plan or slot you will use. Do not assume another provider’s figure applies.
- Check whether the service also sets a file-count cap. If its documentation gives only a storage limit, file sizes—not a published number of videos—determine how many fit.
- Add up the sizes of the videos you want to keep in the library. Leave room for any other files the plan counts against the same allowance.
- Check whether files can be managed during a live stream. Upstream’s guide says files can be added, removed, or rearranged while streaming; do not assume another service works the same way.
- Check YouTube’s per-video requirements separately. A file fitting your provider’s storage does not override YouTube’s individual upload limit or account-verification requirements.
