This refers to the series identified as the 1987 cartoon, which aired from 1987 to 1996—not later TMNT television series.
What counts as the original TMNT series?
Paramount+ identifies its episode guide as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987) and lists episodes by season. That makes the year in the title a useful way to distinguish this show from later animated and live-action versions: Paramount+’s 1987 series guide.

Why might episode groupings look different?
The episode-list compilation reports ten seasons and a 1987–1996 broadcast span. It also notes that home-video packaging can group episodes differently from broadcast seasons, including a “Vacation in Europe” grouping. Those organizational differences do not change the reported total of 193 episodes. The precise total is reported by a secondary episode-list source, rather than an official studio count: the 1987 series episode list.

Watching or collecting the complete series
The same episode-list source describes a North American 23-disc DVD collection containing all 193 episodes and names Lionsgate Home Entertainment as distributor. Treat that as a reported edition, not confirmation of current stock or details for every release. If you are comparing sets, check that the listing explicitly claims all 193 episodes and confirm the region and edition details before buying.
