There is no official hour count for Ghost of Yōtei. Sucker Punch says playtime depends on the player and that following Atsu’s story while discovering everything the world offers takes “a great many hours.” After the story, you can start New Game+, replay camps and duels, explore additional solo content, or play online co-op in Legends.
How long is Ghost of Yōtei?
Sucker Punch does not give a numeric estimate for the campaign or for completing everything. Its September 29, 2025 FAQ says: “That depends on you, the player. Ghost of Yōtei presents a vast world to explore filled with characters, locations and secret items to discover. It’s certain, however, that following Atsu’s story to it’s conclusion and discovering all the world has to offer will take a great many hours.”

In practical terms, the time depends on how much of the world you explore alongside Atsu’s main story. The official answer is qualitative, not a promised number of hours, so a precise completion time should not be treated as a developer estimate.
What can you do after the story?
There are several distinct ways to continue, depending on whether you want to replay the campaign, repeat combat challenges, take on new solo activities, or play with others.

Start New Game+
After finishing the main story, New Game+ lets you replay Atsu’s quest with armor, abilities, and weapons earned on your first run available from the start. You can also select harder difficulty options. The update added a vendor that uses Ghost Flowers, more than 30 cosmetics, 10 charms, additional upgrade tiers, and two trophies. Sucker Punch’s November 19, 2025 announcement confirms that New Game+ unlocks after the main story.
Replay camps and duels
Patch 1.100 added replay for all 22 Yōtei Six Camps and 26 duels, giving you repeatable combat challenges after the story. The November 24, 2025 patch notes also list new cosmetic items, charms, two armor sets, two trophies, and Photo Mode features.

PlayStation’s August 2026 announcement describes Echoes of Sekigahara as a narrative expansion spanning the present and Atsu’s past. It introduces a previously unseen valley, characters, enemies, heavy weapons, armor sets, and dyes.

Most Wanted is a separate single-player combat survival mode. You take bounties and begin runs; defeating enemies earns perks, and additional characters can be unlocked. The developer describes it as its take on a roguelike.

The announced v2.0 rollout date has passed: PlayStation said the content would be available October 1, 2026 globally, with availability on October 2 in some territories, including Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. Check the listing for your region and edition before buying: access to the expansion may depend on the edition or add-on, while the announcement also lists several patch additions for base-game owners.
Try Legends for co-op
Legends is an online cooperative experience for up to four players, separate from the solo campaign. It has multiple modes that culminate in a Raid. The official Ghost of Yōtei PS5 page lists Legends among the game’s features.

What else did the October 2026 update add?
PlayStation’s v2.0 announcement also lists Beauty of Yōtei, Watanabe Mode tracks, the ability to separate armor appearance from its stats, and a high-contrast accessibility option. These are update additions rather than separate campaign activities.
