Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed takes about 10 hours for the main story, around 14 hours with side content, and roughly 23 hours for completionist play. Those figures are HowLongToBeat estimates displayed by GOG, not an official promise from the developer or publisher. GOG also displays 13.5 hours for its “All Styles” category.
Players report that Rebrushed has a New Game Plus-style mode and that some collected items can carry into a new run. However, the official game and Nintendo listings do not document New Game Plus or publish an item-by-item carryover list, so treat the mode and its exact rules as community-reported rather than fully verified documentation.

How long Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed takes
The most useful planning numbers are the estimates shown on GOG and attributed to HowLongToBeat:

|---|---|---|
| Main story | About 10 hours | Progressing through the central campaign with limited optional activity |
| Main story plus side content | About 14 hours | The campaign combined with optional activities and exploration |
| All styles | About 13.5 hours | GOG’s separate HowLongToBeat category for a broad range of player approaches |
| Completionist | About 23 hours | Chasing a much larger share of secrets, collectibles and optional objectives |
These are aggregated player estimates, not a controlled study, a publisher target or a guaranteed finish time. A first-time player who explores every area, retries difficult sections or pauses to experiment with the game’s paint-and-thinner systems can take longer than the main-story figure. Someone familiar with the levels and focused on forward progress can finish faster.

The 13.5-hour “All Styles” number should not be treated as a mathematical average of the other categories. It is a separate HowLongToBeat estimate displayed by GOG, and the categories reflect different ways people report their play sessions.
What each completion target involves
Around 10 hours: the story route
A roughly 10-hour run is the clearest answer for a player who wants to see the main narrative without deliberately pursuing every optional objective. You still encounter the core platforming, paint and thinner mechanics and the movement abilities described by THQ Nordic, but you are not budgeting time to revisit every location for secrets.
This target is best used as a planning baseline rather than a deadline. New players may stop to understand how an area reacts to paint or thinner, search for a route, or repeat a challenge. Those decisions add minutes without meaning that the campaign has become unusually long.

Around 14 hours: story plus sides
The approximately 14-hour estimate covers a more relaxed run that includes optional content. Rebrushed presents itself as a 3D platformer with secrets, creative challenges and movement options such as dash, ground pound and sprinting. Spending time on those activities is the main reason a side-content run extends beyond a direct story playthrough.

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
There is no separate measured duration for each type of secret, challenge or movement-based activity in the available figures. The 14-hour number therefore works as a combined target, not as a promise that every optional task adds a fixed number of minutes.
Around 23 hours: completionist play
The completionist estimate is about 23 hours, more than twice the main-story figure. That gap reflects a different goal: searching thoroughly, returning to places for missed items, and finishing a larger share of optional objectives rather than simply reaching the ending.
Completionist play can vary especially widely. A guide-free search may take longer because you are learning where secrets are located. A player who already knows the routes may finish closer to the estimate or below it. The figure is still useful because it shows the scale of the extra work: a full collection-oriented run is a substantial second commitment, not just a short epilogue after the story.
How to use the 13.5-hour “All Styles” figure
GOG also lists 13.5 hours for “All Styles.” Because this is a separate HowLongToBeat category, it is most useful as a broad expectation for an ordinary mixed playthrough. It should not replace the more specific story, side-content or completionist targets when you already know how you intend to play.

Why play time changes so much
Exploration and secrets
THQ Nordic’s description emphasizes secrets and creative challenges. A player moving directly between required objectives sees fewer of the spaces and puzzles that make an exploratory run longer. Searching every corner also introduces backtracking: you may recognize that a newly available movement skill opens a route you could not use earlier, then return to investigate it.
Paint, thinner and experimentation
Paint and thinner are central systems rather than cosmetic effects. Experimenting with them can change how you approach a platforming problem or an environmental obstacle. Learning those interactions is part of the intended experience, but it also means two players who reach the same objective can spend very different amounts of time getting there.
Movement skills
Dash, ground pound and sprinting provide additional ways to move through stages. Some players will use them immediately and continue; others will test their range, look for alternate routes or return to earlier areas. No published source provides a separate time allowance for any individual ability, so these should be understood as reasons for variation, not as fixed additions to the clock.
Retries and first-time learning
Aggregated completion estimates include people with different levels of familiarity. A first run naturally contains more trial and error than a replay. If a section requires several attempts, the extra time is not evidence that the published estimate is wrong; it is one of the normal differences that makes crowd-sourced play-time figures ranges rather than guarantees.

Does Rebrushed have New Game Plus?
Community discussions indicate that Rebrushed has a New Game Plus-type mode. Players also discuss collected items carrying into a new run. That is the strongest available indication, but it is not the same as an official feature specification.
What is reported by players
Player posts ask whether the game has “a new game plus type thing” and describe starting another run with collected items retained. These reports are useful practical evidence because they come from people discussing their own saves, but they do not establish a complete, universal carryover list. Different posts may refer to different item categories or to progress that behaves differently from one save to another.
What the official pages establish
The official THQ Nordic game description focuses on Rebrushed as a 3D platformer built around paint, thinner, secrets, creative challenges and movement abilities. The Nintendo listings identify the game and its platform release information. The official pages do not document a New Game Plus mode or explain which items transfer between runs.
Consequently, it is safest to describe New Game Plus as community-reported behavior rather than a feature with publicly documented rules. Do not assume that every collectible, ability, upgrade or quest state carries over simply because players report retaining collected items.

What “items carry over” does and does not tell you
“Collected items” is an imprecise description. It could refer to a subset of collectibles, a permanent account-level record, or progress that is visible only in a particular save configuration. Without an official item-by-item list, the report cannot answer whether story flags, one-time rewards, movement abilities, challenge results or area states persist.
If your second run depends on a specific unlock, verify it in your own save before committing to a completionist plan. Keep a short record of what you had at the end of the first run, start the new run, and check the relevant inventory or progress screens when they become available. This confirms your version’s behavior without turning an unverified community claim into a guarantee.

- Choose a target before starting. Use about 10 hours for a story-focused route, about 14 hours if you intend to pursue side content, or about 23 hours if collecting and completion are the goal. Treat each as an estimate, not a session limit.
- Decide whether to explore immediately. A thorough first run can reduce the number of later visits, but it will also move your schedule toward the completionist estimate. A direct route keeps the first run shorter and leaves optional work for a replay.
- Record discoveries that may matter later. Note areas where a secret or challenge appears inaccessible. The game’s movement abilities can change how you navigate, so a simple note prevents repeated blind searching.
- Allow time for experimentation. Paint, thinner and movement skills are part of the platforming, not merely optional tools. Building in extra time for learning gives a more realistic schedule than treating the 10-hour figure as a speedrun target.
- Separate story completion from collection completion. Reaching the ending answers the story question; it does not prove that every secret or optional objective is finished. Track those goals separately so you know which estimate applies to your play style.
How to plan a second run
A reported New Game Plus mode can make a replay more attractive, particularly if collected items remain available. Because the carryover rules are not officially documented, plan the second run in stages rather than assuming a full transfer.
- Finish and document the first save. Write down major collectibles, movement abilities and optional objectives you care about. This creates a comparison point when the new run begins.
- Confirm that the mode is available in your version. Community reports are not a substitute for what your installed game shows. Look for the relevant new-run option in the game’s own menus or save flow.
- Check one known item early. After the new run grants access to the appropriate progress or inventory view, confirm whether a collectible you recorded is present. One successful check does not prove that all categories transfer.
- Recalculate your goal. If the items you care about persist, focus the replay on story progress and anything that did not transfer. If they do not, decide whether the second run is for a different route or for collecting again.
- Keep separate saves when possible. Retaining the original completed save protects your reference point while you test how the replay behaves.
Release context by platform
Platform matters when discussing release dates. Nintendo’s Switch listing gives September 24, 2024 as the release date, with Purple Lamp identified as developer and THQ Nordic as publisher. Nintendo’s Switch 2 listing gives October 6, 2026 as that platform’s release date. Those dates identify platform availability; they do not change the HowLongToBeat estimates or provide official New Game Plus documentation.
If you are comparing your own play time with the estimates, record the platform and version alongside your hours. That keeps a Switch run, a Switch 2 run or another platform’s session from being treated as though it were the same reported sample.
Which estimate should you use?
- Use 10 hours when you mainly want the campaign and are comfortable leaving optional searches for later.
- Use 14 hours when you expect to follow side content and explore without trying to clear every collectible.
- Use 13.5 hours as GOG’s broad “All Styles” reference when your approach falls between those descriptions.
- Use 23 hours when your objective is completionist progress and a thorough search for secrets and optional challenges.
- Add personal buffer if this is your first 3D platformer in the series, you prefer to solve challenges without outside help, or you expect repeated attempts. The published values are aggregated estimates and cannot account for your exact pace.
What is confirmed and what remains uncertain
| Question | Best-supported answer |
|---|---|
| How long is the main story? | About 10 hours, according to the HowLongToBeat figure displayed by GOG. |
| How long with side content? | About 14 hours, using the same GOG-displayed estimate. |
| How long for completion? | About 23 hours, using the same GOG-displayed estimate. |
| Is there an “All Styles” figure? | Yes. GOG displays 13.5 hours. |
| Is New Game Plus officially documented? | No official documentation was found in the THQ Nordic and Nintendo pages. |
| Do collected items carry over? | Players report that they can, but the exact categories and rules are not officially established. |
The practical conclusion is straightforward: budget roughly a long afternoon for the story, more time for optional exploration, and a much larger commitment for completionist play. A New Game Plus-style replay appears to exist according to community reports, yet its precise carryover rules should be confirmed in your own save rather than assumed from an incomplete public description.
