How long is Metro 2033 Redux?
Story route: about 9 hours
A focused run through Metro 2033 Redux takes approximately nine hours. This is the useful estimate if you are following the critical path, watching the required story scenes, and doing little optional searching.
With optional content: about 11.5 hours
Allow around 11.5 hours when you investigate more areas and complete additional activities without attempting to find every collectible or meet every completion condition. The extra two and a half hours over the story estimate reflects a moderate, rather than exhaustive, play style.
Completionist route: about 23.5 hours
The completionist estimate is approximately 23.5 hours, more than twice the focused-story figure. The difference comes from searching levels thoroughly, revisiting optional opportunities, collecting items, and accepting the failed attempts that often accompany stealth or higher-difficulty play.

Completionist route: about 27.5 hours
Plan for roughly 27.5 hours if you are pursuing the completionist estimate. This is about four hours longer than the corresponding Metro 2033 Redux estimate, despite the two games having similar story-only lengths.
What “Redux” includes
The Last Light Redux listing states that all DLC is included and describes an additional 10 hours of bonus single-player content. Treat the 10-hour statement as package scope, not as a separate 10-hour add-on to place on top of the Redux playtime table. Adding separate Last Light DLC figures to the Redux estimate would double-count content already inside that edition.

How long is Metro Exodus?
Story route: about 16 hours
The main Metro Exodus campaign takes approximately 16 hours in a focused run. It is the longest of the three main games by the cited story estimate, with larger areas and more room for optional detours than the earlier linear entries.
With optional content: about 24 hours
A run that explores more of the environments and takes on optional activities is estimated at about 24 hours. The eight-hour increase over the story route is the largest main-story-to-extra-content gap among the three core games.
Completionist route: about 42 hours
For a completionist attempt, the estimate rises to roughly 42 hours. How long are The Two Colonels and Sam’s Story?
The Two Colonels
The Two Colonels is the shorter Exodus expansion. Its story takes about two hours, a broader run about 2.5 hours, and a completionist attempt approximately three hours. It is a relatively linear chapter, so the gap between its three estimates is small compared with the gap for Metro Exodus.
Sam’s Story
Sam’s Story is the larger expansion. The main narrative is estimated at about 5.5 hours, a run with extra content at seven hours, and completionist play at approximately 8.5 hours. It therefore adds substantially more time than The Two Colonels in every play category.
Exodus with both expansions
For the Exodus package plus both named story expansions, add the three entries directly:

All three main games with the named Exodus DLC
Add the 2-hour story of The Two Colonels and the 5.5-hour story of Sam’s Story to the three-game total for approximately 42.5 hours. In practical terms, that is a long weekend only for a very fast schedule; most players will spread it across several sessions because difficulty, retries, and exploration make elapsed calendar time longer than the sum of play hours.
Completionist trilogy and DLC
For completionist estimates, the three main packages total 93 hours: 23.5 + 27.5 + 42. Add three hours for The Two Colonels and 8.5 hours for Sam’s Story to reach approximately 104.5 hours.
Count Last Light Redux once in that sum. Its Redux package already includes its DLC, so a separate Last Light expansion line would inflate the total.

Difficulty and failed attempts
Stealth sections, limited resources, and difficult combat can produce repeated reloads. A player who knows enemy routes may finish close to the story estimate, while a first attempt on a demanding setting can add several retries to individual encounters.
Exploration and collectibles
The completionist categories assume much more searching than a critical-path run. Checking side rooms, locating hidden supplies, pursuing optional objectives, and backtracking through accessible areas are the main reasons the broader estimates exceed the story figures.

Combat versus stealth
Combat can be faster when an encounter is understood, but it may consume ammunition and health. Stealth can avoid resource costs yet take longer because you may wait for patrols, restart after detection, or search for a non-lethal route. Neither approach has a fixed time advantage for every level.
Reading, cutscenes, and pauses
The estimates describe active game time rather than a promise about your wall-clock schedule. Pausing, reading notes, listening to optional dialogue, adjusting settings, or leaving the game idle will increase the time shown on your own platform.
How should you plan a Metro play-through?
If you only want the story
- Start with Metro 2033 Redux and reserve about nine hours.
- Continue to Metro: Last Light Redux and reserve about 10 hours, treating its included DLC as part of that package.
- Play Metro Exodus for about 16 hours.
- Add about two hours for The Two Colonels and 5.5 hours for Sam’s Story if you want the named Exodus side narratives.
If you want optional content without a 100 percent attempt
Use the main-plus-extra column as your schedule: 11.5 hours for Metro 2033 Redux, 13.5 for Last Light Redux, 24 for Exodus, 2.5 for The Two Colonels, and seven for Sam’s Story. This path totals 58.5 hours across all five listed packages.

Reserve roughly 104.5 hours for all five packages, and leave additional calendar space for retries. A sensible approach is to finish each campaign once, then use chapter or level selection for missed items where the edition supports it, rather than interrupting the story constantly to search every room.
