A standard Clan War League (CWL) round is seven war days: one war per day against a different clan in your group. Each day has a 23-hour preparation phase followed by a 24-hour battle day. If your group has six clans instead of eight, the season is shorter, which is the usual reason a CWL seems to end early.

These figures come from Supercell Support’s “The Week of Wars” and “Matchmaking & Groups” pages (accessed 2026). The support page puts it this way: “A War is fought each day for 7 days against the other Clans in the Group,” and “Just like in regular Clan Wars, Preparation Day lasts 23 hours, and it is followed by Battle Day which lasts 24 hours.”

Why a six-clan group finishes sooner
In CWL you face each other clan in your group once. In an eight-clan group that means seven opponents and seven war days. Supercell’s group FAQ says some groups have six clans, and that fewer clans means fewer battles and therefore a shorter season. If your CWL ended before you expected, check the group size on your in-game CWL map. A six-clan group is the most likely explanation.

Why you may see “eight days” quoted
Supercell’s 10 October 2018 launch announcement said the War League “will take place for eight days.” It also described groups of eight clans, each fighting the other seven. The 23 October 2018 update notes summarised CWL as one week each month. Those are launch-era descriptions. Current support documentation gives seven war days and spells out the six-clan exception, so treat seven as the current figure.
Why not just add up the hours?
It is tempting to multiply the phases by seven for an exact total. Supercell does not define an exact start-to-finish season length that way, and six-clan groups would break the sum anyway. Describe CWL as Supercell does: a number of war days, each with a stated preparation and battle phase.

Rules can change
Supercell announced new CWL league tiers beginning with the May 2026 CWL. That announcement concerned the league structure, not the timing of the war week. The 18 leagues cited at launch in 2018 are no longer a current description. Rewards (League Medals and resources) also depend on the current league setup, so check the in-game calendar and Supercell Support if you need to plan around a specific season.
