In the United States, a creator who promotes a casino or gambling service in exchange for payment, free or discounted services, or another benefit should clearly disclose that relationship to viewers. The disclosure belongs with the endorsement—not only on a profile page or behind an expanded description. On YouTube, creators must also declare branded content using Studio’s paid-promotion setting; that platform label does not replace the creator’s responsibility to make the connection clear and prominent.
How influencer casino sponsorships work
A casino sponsorship is a commercial relationship in which a creator promotes or endorses a gambling brand or service and receives something of value. That can mean a fee, but it can also include free or discounted services or other perks. Under the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s endorsement guidance, those benefits may be material connections that audiences need to know about. The disclosure responsibility rests with the influencer even when a sponsor arranges the campaign or a platform offers a disclosure tool. As the FTC’s influencer guide puts it: “As an influencer, it’s your responsibility to make these disclosures, to be familiar with the Endorsement Guides, and to comply with laws against deceptive ads.”

The FTC’s general standard is that viewers should readily notice and understand the disclosure close to the sponsored endorsement. A disclosure buried on a profile page, hidden in a long description, or visible only after a viewer expands text may not reach the audience when it matters. The guidance does not establish one universal phrase for casino sponsorships or a guaranteed safe-harbor wording. Use plain language that makes the commercial relationship obvious. What YouTube requires
For branded content on YouTube, creators must declare the promotion in YouTube Studio using the paid-promotion setting. YouTube says that declaration adds a label to the video, but the creator remains responsible for making the disclosure clear and prominent. YouTube also warns that local rules may require additional steps. Treat the Studio setting as part of the disclosure workflow, not as a substitute for an audience-facing disclosure or a complete check of applicable law. What the FTC’s CSGO Lotto case shows
A gambling-related example came in 2017, when the FTC brought a matter involving CSGO Lotto. The agency alleged that the service’s owners promoted the gambling website without disclosing their ownership and that paid gaming influencers promoted it without disclosing compensation. The settlement required clear and conspicuous disclosure of material connections. The allegations should be understood as allegations; the settlement requirement is the relevant outcome, not proof that every alleged fact was independently adjudicated.
