The available documentation does not establish a universal review-text API for either service: Airbnb access depends on its program and partner terms, while Agoda’s documented Content API includes hotel-level review counts and average ratings but does not describe individual review text. Treat authorization as the first design step—not a detail to solve after writing the workflow.
What a cross-platform review feed can—and cannot—assume
A voice-of-customer feed is a consolidated view of feedback that a hotel is authorized to access. It may contain individual review text, ratings, dates, or only platform-level aggregates; the approved source determines which fields are available and what processing is allowed.

Documentation reviewed on October 7, 2026 does not establish that every hotel can retrieve a complete, real-time stream of Airbnb and Agoda reviews. The sources also do not establish an Agoda public endpoint for individual review text. Confirm current terms, scopes, credentials, and capabilities with each platform or an authorized integration partner before planning a text-analysis pipeline.
How the two platforms differ
| Question | Airbnb | Agoda |
|---|---|---|
| What access is established? | API access is governed by program documentation and partner-specific terms; the existence of an API does not establish permission for a particular workflow. | Documented demand APIs require partner authentication. Documentation describes accommodation content and booking-related capabilities, not a public, unauthenticated review-text interface. |
| What review data is documented? | The reviewed materials do not establish a universal review-text endpoint or a field set available to every hotel. | The documented Content API includes hotel-level numberOfReviews and ratingAverage. Individual review text and review-by-review retrieval are not described in the reviewed material. |
| What processing needs confirmation? | Confirm that the specific program and partner terms allow collection, analysis, storage, display, and sharing for this use. Airbnb’s API terms restrict specified uses, including building databases, analyzing or deriving data, redistribution, use of undocumented APIs, and circumvention. | Confirm whether the account or an authorized partner provides review text and which fields, update cadence, retention, and analysis are permitted. The reviewed documentation does not establish those details for individual reviews. |
| What should the hotel plan for? | Use only approved scopes and permitted processing; do not design around scraping, undocumented endpoints, or assumed retention rights. | Plan for count and average-rating data unless Agoda or an authorized integration partner confirms a permitted individual-review source. |
These descriptions reflect the official documentation reviewed on October 7, 2026; platform terms and API documentation can change. Check the current Airbnb API program terms and Agoda partner API documentation before implementation.

Resolve access and permissions before building
1. Map properties and account relationships
List each hotel, its Airbnb listing identifiers, and its Agoda property identifiers. Record who owns or administers each relevant account and whether a channel manager or other integration partner is involved. Confirm that the proposed source is authorized for the properties in scope.
2. Get a field-level answer from each source
Ask the platform or authorized partner which fields are available for your account and properties. Be explicit about whether you need individual review text, ratings, review dates, identifiers, or only aggregate counts and averages. Also confirm supported update frequency, API limits, and whether the data may be normalized, analyzed, retained, displayed internally, or shared with hotel teams.

3. Set a stop condition
If the approved Agoda source supplies only aggregate fields, ingest those fields as aggregates; do not infer that review text is accessible because a review count or average rating is present. If Airbnb’s applicable terms do not permit the intended storage or analysis, do not send that data into an archive or sentiment-analysis step. Pause the affected source until its permitted scope is clear.
A compliant workflow design for Python and n8n
Use n8n as an orchestration layer and Python for transformations only after the source, credentials, fields, and permitted processing are confirmed. Neither tool supplies platform permission, and this design does not imply that a ready-made n8n node, template, API endpoint, or Python client exists for these review sources.
- Configure authorized inputs. Connect only a supported platform or partner source using credentials issued for the hotel’s approved access. Keep credentials in the workflow platform’s protected credential store rather than embedding them in code or workflow data.
- Fetch only approved fields. Request no more than the confirmed scope permits. Respect documented rate limits and update cadence. If an approved source returns only aggregate values, pass those values through without attempting to obtain individual reviews by another route.
- Normalize in Python. Convert allowed records to a consistent internal shape. A candidate schema is
platform,property_id,review_date,rating,review_textonly when permitted,source_record_idif supplied, andingested_at. This is a design suggestion, not a claim that either platform returns every field. - Deduplicate and validate. Use a stable source record identifier where available and authorized. Check property mappings, date formats, rating ranges, and missing values. Quarantine ambiguous records rather than assigning them to a hotel by guesswork.
- Apply approved analysis. Run only analysis permitted by the relevant source terms. If text analysis is not authorized, keep the workflow to allowed fields such as aggregate counts or ratings and omit sentiment, topic extraction, and text summaries.
- Route a limited digest. Deliver permitted signals to the responsible hotel team at a cadence consistent with the source’s documented update and rate limits. Prefer recurring themes and operationally useful context over forwarding unnecessary personal or review data.
- Log and review the workflow. Record source, run time, property mapping, and processing outcome without creating an unauthorized copy of source content. Recheck permissions when a source, partner, field set, or intended use changes.
What to do with Airbnb review and survey policies
Airbnb’s host policy says hosts may not ask guests to review an Airbnb stay on another site or complete an off-platform survey about that stay unless they are an approved hotel partner. Keep monitoring separate from guest solicitation: a system that reads authorized feedback should not automatically send guests to an external form to review their Airbnb stay.
Airbnb’s review policy emphasizes relevance, authenticity, and trustworthiness. It identifies fake reviews and conduct such as incentivizing, pressuring, deceiving, extorting, or retaliating through reviews as policy concerns. A low rating or subjective disagreement alone does not necessarily qualify a review for removal. Use the feed to identify service issues and patterns, not to treat every unfavorable opinion as invalid or removable. Follow Airbnb’s available dispute process when a review appears to violate policy.

Keep platform signals distinguishable
Retain a platform label and the correct property mapping for every permitted record. Do not collapse ratings from different platforms into one score unless the hotel has defined a valid, documented method; rating scales, coverage, and available fields may differ.

If one source provides only counts and average ratings while another source authorizes review text, report that asymmetry directly. Do not present an aggregate-only source as though the feed contains its individual comments. Track missing coverage as an explicit source status rather than silently dropping the platform.
Best Value
Make human review part of the response
Route recurring topics or rating changes to a staff member who can check timing, property context, and the original permitted record before deciding on an operational response. Avoid making consequential staff or guest decisions solely from automated sentiment or topic labels.
Quick Recap
Pre-build checklist
- Identify an approved access path for each platform and each property.
- Confirm field availability, allowed purposes, retention, analysis, internal display, and sharing rights.
- Verify credentials, documented endpoints, API limits, and supported update cadence with the platform or authorized partner.
- Define property mapping, deduplication, access controls, retention periods, and deletion procedures before accepting review text.
- Make aggregate-only coverage visibly different from review-text coverage.
- Keep Airbnb review solicitation on-platform unless the hotel has the approved-partner exception described by Airbnb.
- Recheck the current terms and technical documentation before launch and whenever the integration changes.
