Flick Shot Rogues makes each flick a tactical choice: aim your hero across the board, use collisions to hit enemies, and plan how the shot fits into a changing roguelike run. The slingshot-like action is the hook, but turn-based planning, items, talents, curses, and shifting encounters give it a larger role.
How does Flick Shot Rogues work?
You aim a shot that sends your hero spinning across the board. The route matters: a collision can strike an enemy, carry the hero into another target, or set up a chain of hits. A good shot turns the board’s geometry into an advantage; a misfire can have a cost.

That makes each turn a small planning problem rather than a reflex test. You consider where the hero will travel and what the movement may hit before committing. The official Steam description sums up the central action as “lining up the perfect shot to send your hero spinning across the board.” Steam’s listing describes it as a roguelike dungeon crawler.
Why is the flick more than a gimmick?
The flick is the main action, but its consequences feed into a broader tactical loop. Collisions can create multiple hits, while items, talents, and curses shape what a run can do. Enemies and rewards change between journeys, so a shot is made in the context of a run that will not unfold exactly the same way next time.

- Solid wood handle is comfortable and easy to hold for adults
- High quality rubber bands with faux-leather pocket for holding ammunition, which give you strong drawing force and good positioning.
- With solid plug allows the slingshot to use security.
- Great for eye and attention training, entertainment, competition and hunting.
- Package: 1 slingshot with rubber band + 1 free spare rubber band
This is the useful distinction behind the game’s slingshot resemblance: the flick provides the physical, tactile interaction, while the turn-based structure asks you to weigh its outcome. Pocket Gamer’s first impressions characterize the slingshot mechanic as part of a larger picture, rather than the whole game. Read Pocket Gamer’s first impressions.
Is Flick Shot Rogues a roguelike?
Yes. Its store description identifies it as a roguelike dungeon crawler, and its run structure includes changing encounters alongside items, talents, curses, and unlocks. The flick is the distinctive way you act within that structure; it does not replace the run-based progression.

That combination gives the game two connected decision scales: how to send the hero through the board on a turn, and how to adapt as a particular run develops. The available descriptions support that broad picture, but do not establish detailed build strategies or a controlled comparison with other roguelikes.

What makes it a thoughtful take on slingshot-style play?
The mechanic gives movement and collisions direct consequences, while the turn-based pace leaves room to consider a shot before taking it. Run variation then gives those decisions a changing context: the items, talents, curses, enemies, and rewards can shape what is useful from one journey to another. The result is a game whose flicking is not simply an isolated physics trick; it is the action around which a wider tactical loop is built.
