How this differs from Senior Esports USA
Senior Esports USA is a separate competitive-team initiative described in a July 7, 2026 announcement by the Health-e-Gamer Foundation. The announcement says a central Ohio team trains weekly at Game Arena in Columbus and is preparing to play Rocket League against Senior Team Belgium at the Global Esports Federation’s 2026 Global Esports Games, scheduled for December 1–7 in Los Angeles. That event is a time-specific international competition, not the name of LevelUpLand Ohio’s local senior league.

- 6.2” LCD screen
- Three play modes: TV, tabletop, and handheld
- Local co-op, online, and local wireless multiplayer
- Detachable Joy-Con controllers
- Nintendo Switch is the home of Mario & friends
The foundation says the team also receives health education and coaching on physical and cognitive health, nutrition, emotional intelligence and mental wellness. It names Levels Unlocked Enterprises, Esports Foundry, Game Arena, Franklin County agencies and the City of Columbus as current partners. The foundation also reports that LevelUpLand has engaged more than 2,500 seniors since its launch; it does not provide a measurement method or a more precise measurement date, so this should be understood as the foundation’s reported reach, not an independently audited count. Details are in the foundation’s Senior Esports USA announcement.

Do not confuse it with the 25-plus Senior Esports League
A separate website called Senior Esports League describes competitive gaming for adults aged 25 and older, with age-based divisions, tournaments, community and potential prizes. That is a different organization and model from LevelUpLand Ohio’s Franklin County program for people aged 60 and older. Its eligibility and competition details do not describe LevelUpLand’s offerings; see the separate organization’s About page.

What the program’s benefits do—and do not—establish
Organized play can give participants a setting to practice games, use online communication and meet others around a shared activity. LevelUpLand and the Health-e-Gamer Foundation present connection, digital engagement and wellness as aims or features. The cited program information does not include an independent study establishing that the league reduces loneliness, improves cognition or causes other health benefits, so those outcomes should not be assumed.
