The original Hotwav Note 12 was announced in March 2023 with a limited introductory price of $99.99. The reported promotion ran from March 20 through March 26, 2023, so that figure is a historical launch deal—not a current price. The 4G phone paired a 6.8-inch HD+ screen with a 6,180mAh battery and an advertised 8GB/128GB configuration.
What was the Hotwav Note 12 launch offer?
A contemporary report dated March 15, 2023 said orders for the original Hotwav Note 12 would open on March 20, with a promotional sale lasting through March 26 at $99.99. The report attributed the announcement to Hotwav, but the original announcement page is not available here to verify independently. The offer was explicitly time-limited; it should not be read as the phone’s permanent retail price.
As an indication of how listings can differ from that launch deal, Hotwav’s Note-series collection showed the original Note 12 at €186.95 when indexed on August 16, 2026. That was a regional store listing observed on that date, not a universal current price or a continuation of the 2023 offer. Currency selection, destination, taxes, shipping and stock can affect what a buyer sees. Check the live listing and checkout total before ordering.

What the specifications mean for everyday use
A large screen, with modest sharpness
The 6.8-inch display offers plenty of physical room for reading, video and browsing. Its 720p-class resolution spread across that size is less sharp than a higher-resolution panel, while 60Hz does not provide the smoother scrolling found on higher-refresh-rate screens.
Entry-level performance and ample advertised storage
The Unisoc T606 is an entry-level 4G platform. Its sensible use case is everyday basics such as messaging, browsing, streaming and light games—not demanding gaming or heavy multitasking. The advertised 128GB storage and microSD expansion offer room for apps and offline media, but buyers should confirm the exact RAM configuration rather than assume every “8GB” listing describes physical memory alone.

Battery capacity is not a runtime guarantee
The FCC documentation records a 6,180mAh nominal battery. That is a large capacity on paper, but it does not establish a particular number of hours or days between charges; actual endurance depends on use, signal conditions, software and battery age.
Camera resolution is not a quality test
The reported 48MP rear and 16MP front figures describe sensor resolution, not photo or video results. There is no verified independent testing here to establish low-light performance, stabilization or overall image quality.

FCC radio information and U.S. carrier checks
The FCC filing identifies the device as HOTWAV Note 12, model family “Note,” FCC ID 2AOKU-NOTE12. It lists U.S. LTE Bands 2, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 17 and 66. A separate FCC report names a software test build, HOTWAV_Note 12_NM_V01_20230425, tying that tested hardware to the 2023 generation. See the FCC radio report and FCC SAR/software report.
Band support alone does not guarantee service on a particular U.S. network. Carrier provisioning, VoLTE requirements, network changes, regional firmware and the exact model variant can all matter. Before buying, check the handset’s precise model and ask the carrier to confirm current BYOD and VoLTE compatibility.

Do not confuse the original Note 12 with later variants
Hotwav’s Note-series collection lists the original HOTWAV Note 12, Note 12 2024 and Note 12 EF as separate products. The Note 12 EF, for example, is advertised with Android 14 and a 5,160mAh battery, rather than the original model’s Android 13 and FCC-documented 6,180mAh battery. Its 128GB storage and camera resolutions do not make it the same phone. Hotwav also maintains a separate Note 12 EF product page.
Marketplace titles may omit the year or suffix. Before purchase, match the complete model name, Android version, battery capacity, RAM/storage configuration and LTE bands to the listing and ask the seller to confirm the exact device being shipped.

Is the Hotwav Note 12 worth buying now?
At the reported $99.99 launch promotion in 2023, its large screen, battery capacity and advertised storage made it an appealing specification-led budget option. In 2026, the original is an older Android 13, 4G-only phone. Consider it only if the price is substantially discounted, the exact model suits your needs, and carrier compatibility, warranty and returns are clear. It is a poor fit if you need 5G, demanding-game performance, a sharp or high-refresh-rate screen, established camera quality or confirmed long-term software support.
Quick Recap
- Verify the exact Note 12 version and physical RAM configuration with the seller.
- Check LTE bands and carrier BYOD/VoLTE approval for the specific model.
- Review warranty, return terms, shipping, taxes and the final checkout price.
