Promo codes, Member Prices and sitewide sales are different kinds of discounts. A promo code is entered during checkout and has eligibility rules; a Member Price is a rate shown to eligible members on selected bookings; a sale price applies only to participating properties and dates. Compare the final booking total rather than assuming one route is always cheaper.

Why a Hotels.com coupon code may not work
Hotels.com says properties and vacation rentals that collect payment only at the property are not eligible for coupons. Its instructions require choosing “Pay Now” to use a coupon. In the app, the coupon field appears below the payment details. Hotels.com coupon instructions

- At checkout, check the payment option. A booking that requires payment at the property is not coupon-eligible; choose “Pay Now” if that option is available and suitable for you.
- Enter the code in the coupon field on the checkout page. In the app, look below the payment details.
- Confirm the displayed price changes before you submit payment. If it does not, treat the code as ineligible for that booking rather than assuming a discount will be applied later.
A third-party page listing a code does not establish that it works for your booking. Check the hotel’s participation, dates, payment option and any stated exclusions, then rely on the checkout price.
Compare the final price, not the largest percentage
A coupon, a Member Price or a sale can have different eligibility and cancellation terms. Compare the same property, room, dates, guest count and cancellation option. The Fall Sale’s advertised percentage excludes taxes and fees, so compare the payable total at checkout rather than the pre-tax rate.

- Payment: Check when payment is due and whether the rate requires “Pay Now” to qualify for a coupon.

- Eligibility: Confirm the property, stay dates and room are covered, and check for blackout dates or limited availability.

What to know about third-party promo-code lists
Hotels.com’s official promotions are clearer evidence of a discount than a code listed elsewhere, but even an official offer is conditional. A code should be considered usable only when Hotels.com accepts it for the selected booking and shows the reduced price before payment. A published October 2026 coupon roundup is not proof that any individual code applies to your property or dates.
