Cold chocolate
The cold setting is intended for chocolate made with pre-chilled milk. The category distinction is real, but model specifications matter. For example, the Nostalgia Products Hot Chocolate & Milk Frother manual describes cold-milk frothing as well as heating and stirring liquid for drinks such as hot chocolate. Who should buy a milk frother instead?
Prioritize coffee foam or milk texturing
If your daily need is foam for coffee, a milk frother is the natural place to start. The Velvetiser is designed around drinking chocolate; the available product information does not establish it as a general-purpose coffee frother. If drinking chocolate is a frequent treat or part of your daily routine, the Velvetiser’s purpose-built hot cycle—and its cold setting—may earn the counter space and the ongoing ingredient commitment. If you make coffee every morning and chocolate only occasionally, a frother that handles the coffee task first may be more useful.
