For Hostinger Reach WhatsApp campaigns, use a dedicated number your business controls, can verify by SMS or automated voice call, and can keep active. Hostinger lists three options: an additional mobile line, a landline that can receive the verification call directly, or a virtual business number confirmed compatible with Meta and WhatsApp. Avoid temporary or shared numbers, and make sure the number is no longer connected to another WhatsApp account or provider.
Choose a number you can verify and keep
The key requirement is reliable, exclusive access to the number—not a particular phone or SIM format. Hostinger says the device does not need to remain connected after verification, but you should keep the number active and recoverable in case you need another code. Do not use a public, temporary, disposable, or shared SMS number. It may already be tied to someone else’s WhatsApp account, fail to receive a verification code, or become inaccessible later.

Check Reach and Meta prerequisites first
A suitable phone number is only one part of setup. Hostinger’s current instructions require a paid Reach 1000 or higher plan and connection through Meta Embedded Signup. The person completing signup needs administrator access to the relevant Meta Business Portfolio and WhatsApp Business Account. The number must not be active in the WhatsApp consumer app or WhatsApp Business app, or remain connected to another WhatsApp provider. Review Hostinger’s connection instructions before starting; plan and interface requirements can change.

Connect the number in Reach
- Confirm your plan. Make sure your Reach account has a paid Reach 1000 or higher plan under Hostinger’s current requirements.
- Prepare the number. Verify that it can receive an SMS or automated call, is dedicated to your business, and is clear of existing WhatsApp app or provider connections.
- Prepare Meta access and business details. Sign in with the Facebook profile that administers the intended Meta Business Portfolio and WhatsApp Business Account. Have your business display name, website, and matching business details ready; Meta may request business verification.
- Start WhatsApp connection in Reach. Follow the connection flow and complete Meta Embedded Signup. Choose or create the business assets, add the number, receive the verification code by SMS or voice call, and complete Meta’s remaining steps.
- Prepare campaign content. Create marketing templates and submit them for Meta approval before use. Reach’s initial release supports one WhatsApp Business Account and one dedicated number per Reach account.
In the initial release described by Hostinger, WhatsApp campaigns are one-off “Send now” campaigns: scheduling and a shared reply inbox are not available. If recipients need to contact your team, provide another support channel.
Meet consent, geography, and template requirements
Reach tracks WhatsApp consent separately from other subscription status. Only contacts with recorded or confirmed consent and supported phone numbers are eligible. You can collect a number and WhatsApp opt-in through a form. If consent was obtained elsewhere, confirm and document that it is valid; Hostinger says it does not determine whether your consent process is legally sufficient. Its current campaign guidance says US phone numbers are excluded because Meta does not allow marketing messages to them. Check eligibility for your destination country in Reach and Meta, since platform rules can change.

Meta must approve a template before you use it, and Meta controls approval and can later change a template’s status. Reach’s current editor supports marketing templates with a body limit of 1,024 characters; it also adds the fixed footer “Reply STOP to unsubscribe.” A STOP reply marks the contact unsubscribed and suppresses future WhatsApp campaigns.

Reach estimates campaign costs using eligible contacts and their destination countries. At send time it reserves estimated credits, then charges only for contacts whose message status is Delivered or Read; it releases unused reservations, and the described process does not charge for undelivered or failed messages. There is no universal per-message price because the estimate depends on recipient destinations. Check Hostinger’s credit terms for current details.

Hostinger’s help page currently says a successful WhatsApp connection makes 300 welcome credits available. The credits are nonrefundable and expire after 30 days under standard Unified Credits terms. The number of messages they cover depends on recipients’ destinations, so they may not cover a full campaign. Confirm the offer and terms in Reach before relying on them.

Use this checklist before choosing a number
- Can the number receive Meta’s verification code by SMS or automated voice call?
- Is it assigned exclusively to your business, and can you retain access long term?
- Does it work in your country and with the number provider you plan to use?
- Can the person connecting it administer the correct Meta business assets?
- Is the number disconnected from WhatsApp consumer or Business apps and any previous provider?
- Can you collect and document valid WhatsApp consent from eligible contacts?
