Hostinger Paperclip VPS Review (2026): Plans, Costs, and What to Expect

Hostinger’s Paperclip VPS offer is a way to deploy the self-hosted, open-source Paperclip platform on a virtual private server, with one-click deployment advertised by Hostinger. There is no published Paperclip-specific minimum VPS specification in the available sources, so no tier can be called an official requirement. The practical choice depends on the resources your agents need, your comfort managing a server, and the prepaid and renewal costs—not just the advertised introductory monthly rate.

What Hostinger’s Paperclip VPS includes

Paperclip is software for building and managing AI-agent organizations. Hostinger describes features including agent roles and reporting lines, goal hierarchies, per-agent budgets, audit trails, and board-level override capability. It runs on a Hostinger VPS rather than as a bundle of model-inference services: you provide API keys for supported providers such as Claude, GPT-4o, or Gemini, and pay those providers separately for usage. Hostinger’s Paperclip page describes the application and offer.

Hostinger advertises one-click deployment, Docker Manager, container logs, one-click updates, and weekly backups, as well as AMD EPYC processors, NVMe storage, 1 Gbps network speed, a public API, and data centers. These are vendor-listed features and specifications, not independent performance measurements.

Which Hostinger VPS plan do I need to run Paperclip?

Hostinger does not publish an official Paperclip minimum or a workload-to-plan guide in the sources reviewed. The four listed tiers range from 1 vCPU and 4 GB of RAM to 8 vCPU and 32 GB of RAM, but those allocations alone do not establish how a particular number or pattern of agents will perform.

HostAdvice reviewer Walter Akolo reports deploying Paperclip on KVM 2 and describes it as a functional starting point in that deployment. That is one reviewer’s account, not an official recommendation, universal requirement, or independently replicated benchmark. The review, updated July 14, 2026, also reports that Claude Code may need to be authenticated inside the Paperclip container before the first agent runs. Read the HostAdvice review for the reviewer’s account.

Use the table to compare what each listed US-dollar tier provides. Hostinger says plans are paid upfront; the displayed monthly figure is the total plan price divided by the number of months. Introductory and renewal rates below are the figures shown on the US Paperclip offer when checked for this article, with a two-year term reported for those rates. Prices and terms can vary by market and change, so verify the checkout offer before ordering.

Plan Introductory rate Renewal rate vCPU RAM NVMe storage Bandwidth
KVM 1 $6.49/month, two-year term; paid upfront $11.99/month 1 4 GB 50 GB 4 TB
KVM 2 $8.99/month, two-year term; paid upfront $14.99/month 2 8 GB 100 GB 8 TB
KVM 4 $12.99/month, two-year term; paid upfront $28.99/month 4 16 GB 200 GB 16 TB
KVM 8 $25.99/month, two-year term; paid upfront $49.99/month 8 32 GB 400 GB 32 TB

These rates come from Hostinger’s US Paperclip offer; they are not guaranteed prices for all regions or future dates. HostAdvice reports its plan amounts in Australian dollars, so those figures should not be combined with this US-dollar list as if both were one price schedule.

How to choose among the tiers

  • Start with workload, not a claimed minimum. Consider how many agents you expect to run and how active they will be. The sources do not establish resource requirements for a particular workload.
  • Compare the full commitment. Check the upfront charge for the selected term, the renewal rate, and the resources included; do not decide from the introductory monthly equivalent alone.
  • Scale cautiously. KVM 2 is a reasonable tier to investigate if you want to compare your needs with the reviewer’s reported deployment, but it is not proven sufficient for every setup. No measured tier-by-tier benchmark is available in these sources.

Management: one-click deployment is not managed hosting

Hostinger characterizes its VPS as self-managed, with root access, and says managing it requires IT knowledge. Its dashboard features and integrated AI assistant may help with VPS tasks, but the customer remains responsible for configuring and administering the server. Hostinger’s VPS page explains its management model.

  • The Smarter Long-term Way to Store: Unlike cloud storage with recurring monthly fees, a UGREEN NAS enclosure requires only a one-time purchase for long-term use. For example, you only need to pay $459.98 for a NAS, while for cloud storage, you need to pay $719.88 per year, $2,159.64 for 3 years, $3,599.40 for 5 years. File transfers reach up to 125MB/s—a 1GB file takes only 8 seconds. Don't let slow clouds hold you back; they often need over 100 seconds for the same task. The difference is clear.
  • Let AI Better Organize Your Memories: UGREEN NAS uses AI to tag faces, locations, texts, and objects—so you can effortlessly find any photo by searching for who or what's in it in seconds. It also automatically finds and deletes similar or duplicate photo, backs up live photos and allows you to share them with your friends or family with just one tap. Everything stays effortlessly organized, powered by intelligent tagging and recognition.

That distinction matters if you expect the hosting provider to maintain the application environment for you. A one-click application deployment can simplify installation, but it does not change Hostinger’s stated self-managed model.

Budget for hosting and model usage separately

The VPS plan covers server hosting, not the model calls your agents make. Hostinger says you supply provider API keys; usage charges are separate and depend on your model-provider activity. The available sources do not quantify a likely API bill, so a reliable monthly total cannot be calculated from the VPS price alone.

For the hosting portion, compare the actual prepaid total and renewal price at checkout. Hostinger’s help page also provides a reference for plan parameters and limits, which can help when reviewing resource allocations. Check Hostinger’s plan limits.
