For most UK buyers who want a conventional premium HONOR phone, the HONOR Magic8 Pro is the best all-round choice. Choose the HONOR Magic V5 instead if you specifically want a foldable with a tablet-like inner screen. Compare live UK prices and check the exact regional specification before ordering: prices, offers and some hardware details vary.
Magic8 Pro or Magic V5: which fits you?
| Model | Best for | What to weigh up |
|---|---|---|
| HONOR Magic8 Pro | Buyers who want a conventional flagship phone with a versatile camera system and a high-refresh-rate display. | Price after current offers, curved-screen preference, UK/EU battery specification and charging accessories. |
| HONOR Magic V5 | Buyers who want a foldable phone and a larger inner screen for phone-and-tablet-style use. | Whether the foldable format is worth its cost, plus thickness, weight and durability considerations. |
iD Mobile’s 2026 HONOR guide names the Magic8 Pro its best overall HONOR phone and the Magic V5 its best foldable. Those categories reflect different priorities: the V5 is not simply a more expensive version of the same kind of phone. See iD Mobile’s guide.

Why the Magic8 Pro is the default flagship pick
The Magic8 Pro pairs a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display (1,256 × 2,808 resolution) with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, according to TechRadar’s review. Its rear cameras are a 50MP main, 50MP ultrawide and 200MP telephoto with 3.7× optical zoom. That combination makes it a strong option if you want one premium handset for everyday use, a range of photography and demanding apps. Read TechRadar’s Magic8 Pro review.

Do not assume every Magic8 Pro has the same battery capacity. TechRadar says its reviewed unit had a 7,100mAh battery but identifies the EU version as 6,270mAh; Android Central also gives 6,270mAh for Europe. UK buyers should confirm the capacity for the specific SKU being sold rather than rely on a specification for another region. Android Central’s review provides further European configuration context.

TechRadar lists 120W wired and 80W wireless charging, but notes that the fastest speeds require HONOR peripherals. HONOR UK lists an optional SuperCharge Power Adapter GaN rated up to 100W. Check the phone’s UK box contents and the accessory’s compatibility before buying a separate charger; the stated maximum for an adapter does not by itself establish the speed your handset will achieve. Software support: confirm HONOR’s terms
Android Central reports a seven-year OS update commitment for the Magic8 Pro. Treat this as a reported commitment, not a blanket guarantee for every region or configuration: check HONOR’s current UK wording for the exact model before making long-term support a deciding factor. When the Magic V5 is the better choice
Choose the Magic V5 if you expect to use its large folding screen for reading, multitasking or other tasks that benefit from more display space. Tom’s Guide lists a 7.95-inch internal OLED and a 6.43-inch external OLED, both with adaptive refresh up to 120Hz, alongside a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 16GB RAM, 512GB storage and a 5,820mAh battery. See Tom’s Guide’s Magic V5 review.
The foldable format is the central reason to pay for this model; decide whether you will use that inner screen before comparing it with a conventional phone. Consider how its thickness, weight and durability fit your daily use, and do not assume it has the same camera arrangement as the Magic8 Pro. iD Mobile’s 2026 guide identifies the V5 as HONOR’s best foldable. iD Mobile’s HONOR guide.

What UK buyers should expect to pay
TechRadar gives the Magic8 Pro a UK RRP of £1,099.99 and says it is often available for £899.99; the latter is a reported sale price, not a guaranteed current offer. Tom’s Guide lists the Magic V5 at a £1,699 starting price, while HONOR UK has displayed an offer from £999.99. These prices come from different offer contexts and can change, so check the current checkout price rather than treating them as directly comparable fixed prices. HONOR UK’s Magic8 Pro page has shown campaign codes, purchase incentives, instalment options and optional accessories. A quick pre-purchase checklist
- Choose the form factor first: a conventional flagship screen or the V5’s folding inner display.
- Compare live UK totals: include the handset price, contract cost if relevant, delivery and any accessories you need.
- Verify the exact specification: check the UK SKU’s battery capacity, RAM, storage and included charger.
- Match the camera to your needs: the Magic8 Pro review specifies a 200MP telephoto with 3.7× optical zoom; do not infer equivalent hardware for the V5.
- Check seller terms: compare warranty, delivery and returns, and confirm software-support terms for the precise model.
