The Honda Super-ONE is a compact electric car designed to feel more playful than its practical proportions might suggest. Its wide stance and flared fenders give it a purposeful look, while Honda’s Boost Mode pairs simulated seven-speed shifts with cabin sound effects. Honda has described the features and development goals, but the published material cited here does not establish performance figures or independent test results.
What is the Honda Super-ONE?
Honda unveiled the Super-ONE Prototype at the Japan Mobility Show on October 29, 2025. The company called its concept “e: Dash BOOSTER” and described the car as a compact EV intended to combine everyday usability with a more exciting driving experience. Honda says it uses a lightweight platform developed for N Series models.

Honda’s development account says the project drew on the N-ONE e: while aiming to go beyond kei-car output and body-width constraints. In Honda’s framing, the N-VAN e: was conceived as a work vehicle and the N-ONE e: as an accessible everyday EV; the Super-ONE was meant to add a more engaging character. Project leader Hidetomo Horita put the goal this way: “Rather than positioning it as ‘an EV,’ we would like people to see the Super-ONE first and foremost as a fun car—one that just happens to be electric.” Honda Stories’ development interview identifies Horita as the Super-ONE Large Project Leader.

Honda attributes the Super-ONE’s stance to extended tread and prominent flared blister fenders. The company says the fenders accommodate wide tires, and its press material describes dedicated aerodynamic details. The low, wide proportions are Honda’s visual cues for a dynamic character—not a published measurement of handling or grip.

Inside, Honda describes sports seats and a cabin layout intended to support a stable driving position and keep the driver focused. These are design aims stated by the manufacturer; they do not substitute for an independent assessment of comfort or ergonomics.
How does Boost Mode work?
Boost Mode is the Super-ONE’s signature disclosed feature. Honda says it raises power output and coordinates simulated seven-speed shifts with Active Sound Control, which generates a virtual engine sound in the cabin in response to accelerator and brake inputs. Honda also describes simulated shift feel, visual cues, acceleration sensation and vibration. The effect is intended to evoke a sporty, engine-powered car while the vehicle remains electric.

Honda’s October 2025 announcement planned a Japan production launch from 2026, followed by markets with strong demand for compact EVs, including the UK and Asian countries. A later Honda development story specified a planned Japan launch in May 2026. Honda said the name would vary by market: Super-ONE in Japan and parts of Asia and Oceania, Honda Super-ONE in some countries in Asia and Oceania, and Super-N in the UK. These are announced plans and naming intentions; availability should be checked with the local Honda market.

Honda Japan’s current model and pricing page lists a national manufacturer suggested price of ¥3,390,200, including tax. That is a Japan-market price, not a universal price or an estimate for another country. The same page gives Tokyo examples of ¥1,300,000 in national CEV support and ¥900,000 in Tokyo support, but subsidies depend on eligibility and application rules, vary by location and may be limited by available funding. They should not be treated as a guaranteed discount or a universal transaction price. See Honda Japan’s Super-ONE type and price page.

Honda says development testing took place on varied roads and in different climates in Japan, the UK and other Asian countries. That is the manufacturer’s account of its development process, not independent testing. The cited sources do not give a complete cross-market specification sheet, nor do they establish range, charging details, safety equipment, or performance figures. Buyers comparing it with the N-ONE e: or another compact EV will need market-specific specifications for those questions.
For now, the clearest picture is of Honda’s intent: build on a practical compact-EV foundation, widen the stance, and make the driving experience more theatrical through Boost Mode. The “attitude” is an interpretation of those design choices and features, rather than a manufacturer statistic.
