Takanashi Kiara began a health-related hiatus in September 2026. Her manager said she would take a “short break until further notice” to rest and recover. Reports in October described a month-long break as the plan or expectation, but no fixed return date has been officially announced.
What Kiara’s manager confirmed
In September 2026, Kiara’s manager announced that the hololive talent was stepping away for health reasons. The statement read:

“Hello! It’s Kiara’s manager here. Kiara is currently taking some time to focus on her health and will be taking a short break until further notice. We apologize for the sudden notice, and thank you for your understanding and continued support while she takes some time to rest and recover.”

The wording establishes two facts: health and recovery are the stated reasons, and the break is open-ended. It does not identify a diagnosis, provide medical details or promise a specific date for her return.

How long is Takanashi Kiara’s break?
October coverage discussed a planned break of about one month. That is the source of the “hiatus for a month” description, but it should not be treated as a guaranteed schedule. “Until further notice” leaves the end date flexible, so a return in November 2026 is an estimate rather than an official commitment.
| Question | What is established | Certainty |
|---|---|---|
| When did the hiatus begin? | September 2026 | Confirmed by the manager’s announcement |
| Why is she away? | To focus on her health and recover | Confirmed reason in the announcement |
| How long will it last? | A short break; October reporting described roughly one month | Duration remains open-ended |
| When will she return? | No fixed date has been posted | Any November timing is an estimate |
Is Kiara leaving hololive?
Nothing in the manager’s announcement says Kiara is graduating, leaving hololive or ending her activities. It describes a temporary break for health and recovery. Fans have connected the timing with discussion of a hololive merger, but that explanation is speculation. Neither Kiara’s manager nor the cited official announcement confirmed a merger as the cause of the hiatus.

How to read new updates
A reliable return announcement should come from Kiara, her manager, COVER or an official hololive channel and should include a posted schedule or stream listing. Until that happens, distinguish between an official date and an estimate based on the reported one-month plan. Health details may remain private, and the absence of a precise date does not by itself indicate a permanent departure.
