Hokko Spaces cannot be matched to a PC specification yet. The game is unreleased, its Steam store page lists minimum and recommended operating-system, processor, and graphics fields as TBC, and Steam currently shows Steam Deck Compatibility as Unknown. A developer has said, “Works fantastic on the Steamdeck!” after pre-release testing, but that comment is not a Valve Verified or Playable rating. There is also no announced release date, price, or current purchase option.

Steam has not published memory, storage, DirectX, graphics-memory, or other detailed PC requirements. That means there is no defensible minimum CPU, GPU, RAM, drive-space, or Windows-version recommendation for Hokko Spaces at this stage. Specifications from another game in the Hokko series, or from the Steam Deck itself, should not be treated as substitutes.

“TBC” means the developer and publisher have not finalized or posted that field on the store listing. It does not mean that the game has no requirement, that any computer will run it, or that the eventual requirements will be unusually demanding. A pre-release build can still be changing in its rendering workload, asset size, optimization, operating-system support, and control configuration.

Why a low-end verdict is not possible yet
Without a minimum processor and graphics entry, it is impossible to classify a particular older laptop or desktop as supported. The same applies to a recommended tier: there is no published target for a stable frame rate or image quality. Avoid buying a new graphics card, replacing a laptop, or relying on a “can I run it” result that guesses from the game’s genre. A gentle visual style does not establish a hardware floor.
What information is still missing
- Supported operating-system versions and whether a 64-bit edition is required.
- Minimum and recommended CPU models or instruction-set requirements.
- Minimum and recommended GPU models, driver versions, and graphics-memory targets.
- System RAM and storage capacity.
- Any DirectX, Vulkan, shader-model, or other runtime requirement.
- Target resolution, frame rate, and quality settings behind the recommended tier.
Until those fields appear, the most reliable action is to keep the game on a wishlist and reassess after an official store update or a playable build with published specifications.
Can Hokko Spaces run on Steam Deck?
Officially, Steam says the compatibility status is Unknown. That label means Valve has not assigned a final Deck category on the store page. It is not equivalent to Verified, Playable, Unsupported, or a performance guarantee.

A developer Steam Community announcement contains the exact statement: Works fantastic on the Steamdeck!
This is useful evidence that a pre-release playtest build ran well for the developer, but it remains a developer report rather than an independent certification. It does not specify the tested Steam Deck model, operating-system version, frame-rate target, graphics settings, battery behavior, loading times, text readability, or whether every feature worked correctly.
How to interpret both signals together
There is no contradiction in seeing “Unknown” on Steam while reading a positive playtest comment. Valve’s store label describes the formal compatibility-review state; the developer’s sentence describes an observed result in an earlier build. The build available at launch could differ from the one used for that statement, and the label can change only after the store data is updated.
Readers who already own a Steam Deck can wishlist Hokko Spaces and request access to a playtest when one is offered. They should treat any pre-release access as testing, not as proof of final performance. Readers deciding whether to purchase a Deck specifically for this game should wait for the final compatibility label and published PC requirements.

What kind of game is Hokko Spaces?
Steam describes Hokko Spaces as a gentle creative sandbox focused on building small, diorama-style worlds. Its central activity is arranging miniature environments rather than managing a large conventional life-simulation town.

Players can create woodland corners and picnic spaces, placing objects to shape a compact scene. The emphasis is on composition and customization: the player decides what belongs in the space and how the finished diorama looks.
Time, weather, and seasons
The world can be adjusted through time of day, weather, and seasonal changes. These systems are part of the creative presentation, so the final PC requirements will need to account for the developer’s chosen lighting, effects, and scene-detail targets rather than the game’s calm tone alone.
Residents and interaction
Residents can be unlocked and will wander through the created spaces, interacting with placed objects. This gives the sandbox activity beyond static decoration, although no published specification explains how many residents or objects a scene can contain.
Camera mode
A camera mode includes filters, framing, and focus controls for capturing scenes. Because the store listing does not publish performance targets or capture-resolution requirements, these features cannot be used to infer a graphics-card recommendation.
Features and input support listed on Steam
The store listing identifies the following platform features:
- Single-player play.
- Steam Achievements.
- Steam Cloud.
- Family Sharing.
- Full controller support.
- DualSense and Xbox controller support.
These entries describe supported functions, not hardware specifications. “Full controller support,” for example, does not state a frame-rate target or guarantee that every pre-release build behaves identically on desktop and Deck.
Interface and subtitle languages
Steam lists interface and subtitle support for English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. The listing does not establish spoken-audio language support, so interface and subtitle availability should not be read as a voice-acting list.
Release date, price, and availability
Hokko Spaces has no announced release date. Steam marks the date as “To be announced,” and the game is not currently available for purchase. The page offers a wishlist and a request for playtest access when a test is available.

- Before buying hardware for the game, wait for the final CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, and operating-system information.
How to evaluate the final PC requirements when they arrive
When the publisher fills in the listing, compare the two tiers rather than looking only at a single component. The following checklist keeps the comparison meaningful.
Operating-system support
Confirm the exact Windows or other supported operating-system versions, whether 64-bit is required, and whether the minimum and recommended tiers differ. An operating system outside the listed range can create compatibility problems even when the processor and graphics card are fast enough.

Processor
Compare the named minimum and recommended CPU models or their stated equivalents. A processor affects simulation work, resident behavior, loading, and frame-time consistency, so a GPU-only comparison will be incomplete.
Graphics processor
Check the minimum and recommended GPU, graphics-memory requirement, and any listed API or shader-model requirement. Look for an explicit target resolution and frame rate before treating “recommended” as a promise of a particular experience.
Memory and storage
Record system RAM and required free storage, including any note about installation space or future updates. These values are not currently published and should not be guessed from the game’s art style.
Steam Deck label and practical testing
See whether Steam changes the Deck status from Unknown to Verified or Playable. If you can test a final or near-final build, examine native controls, text readability at handheld resolution, frame-rate stability, loading behavior, sleep-and-resume, and whether the camera and seasonal effects behave correctly. Those observations answer questions that a component list alone cannot.

Bottom line for prospective players
Hokko Spaces is not ready for a hardware buying decision. The game’s concept and listed controller support make it relevant to PC and Steam Deck players, but the evidence stops short of a final compatibility promise. Every PC requirement currently shown is TBC, the Deck store label is Unknown, and the only positive Deck performance evidence is an informal developer statement from pre-release testing. With no release date or price, the sensible plan is to wishlist the game, monitor the official Steam listing, and reassess once final specifications and a formal Deck rating are available.
