The HMD Slate Tab 5G is reported to be an upcoming tablet with a 10.6-inch, 2000 × 1200 display and 5G connectivity—but HMD has not confirmed the device in the sources reviewed as of October 7, 2026. The specifications below come from leaks, not a final product announcement, so its release date, price, availability and finished hardware remain unknown.
What the HMD Slate Tab 5G is reported to include
Reports from Gizmochina on October 6 and IT Home on October 5, 2026 describe a similar set of specifications. Their agreement does not amount to independent confirmation: both reports rely on leaked information. Treat every specification as provisional.

The reported 2000 × 1200 resolution is sometimes described as “2K.” The leak also points to a 90Hz refresh rate, which can make supported onscreen motion appear smoother than on a standard 60Hz panel. Neither the resolution label nor the refresh-rate figure has been confirmed by HMD, and the available reports do not establish display brightness, color performance or viewing quality.

Will it support a keyboard?
The reported POGO contacts could allow a keyboard or another accessory to connect directly, but no compatible keyboard or accessory has been confirmed or named. The contacts alone are not proof of keyboard support. Wait for HMD to identify compatible accessories before treating the tablet as a laptop-style option.
Design reports are based on renders
A separate IT Home report dated October 4, 2026 described leaked renders showing blue and orange color options. It also compared the design cues to the Lumia 2520 and Surface devices. These are render-based descriptions, not confirmed colors or an official account of HMD’s design intentions.
Has HMD announced a price or release date?
No official price, launch date, sales region or final specification has been established in the reports reviewed. The HMD newsroom listing checked for this coverage did not identify a Slate Tab 5G announcement; that limited finding does not prove an announcement could not appear elsewhere. There is not enough confirmed information to recommend buying the tablet or to assess its value.
