However, the advertised $900 discount has not been confirmed from a primary retailer listing, so buyers should verify the live price, original price, seller and expiration date before purchasing.
What the 2026 Hisense UR8S is
Hisense announced its 2026 RGB Mini-LED range, including the UR8S and higher-positioned UR9S, at FIFA headquarters on April 16, 2026. The company describes the UR8 family as an accessible RGB Mini-LED series intended to bring advanced display technology, natural color and gaming performance to more consumers.

Hisense’s UK listing identifies the 65UR8STUK as a 65-inch UR8S Smart TV with 4K resolution. The model uses an RGB Mini-LED backlight and is specified for up to 100% BT.2020 color coverage, a very wide gamut claim that describes the range of colors the display system is designed to reproduce.

180Hz refresh rate
The panel is rated at 180Hz. That allows the television to refresh more often than a conventional 120Hz gaming display when the source and game can deliver the necessary frame rate. A high refresh rate does not, by itself, establish a particular input-lag result; no independent latency measurement was provided.

VRR and automatic low latency
Hisense lists variable refresh rate (VRR) and an automatic low-latency pipeline. VRR synchronizes the display’s refresh timing with a compatible game source to reduce tearing and uneven motion. The automatic low-latency system is intended to switch the set into a faster-response gaming path, but the published material does not state a measured response time or input-lag figure.
Color coverage
The manufacturer claims up to 100% BT.2020 color coverage for the RGB Mini-LED backlight. “Up to” is important: actual coverage can vary by picture mode, source, calibration and measurement method. The claim is not the same as an independent test of color volume or accuracy.

What is not yet established
The available product information does not provide several details that matter when choosing a gaming TV:
Recommended Free Tools
- Peak or sustained HDR brightness
- Independent input-lag measurements
- The number and bandwidth of HDMI ports
- Whether every HDMI input supports the full 180Hz specification
- Viewing-angle performance
- Operating-system version and update policy
- Warranty terms for each sales region
- Independent rankings against other gaming televisions
Those omissions prevent a reliable claim that the UR8 is objectively one of the best gaming TVs. Its headline specifications are promising, but brightness, latency, port capability and software support determine how those specifications perform in a real setup.

Is the $900 discount real?
The exact promotion remains pending retailer verification. The available evidence does not establish the original list price, discounted price, retailer, stock status or end date. Treat “$900 off” as an advertisement that needs confirmation rather than as a guaranteed saving.

How to verify the listing before buying
- Match the model number. Confirm that the listing is for the 65-inch UR8S and check the regional suffix. Hisense’s UK reference is 65UR8STUK; another market may use a different suffix.
- Check the price history shown by the retailer. Make sure the claimed $900 reduction compares against a genuine regular price, not a temporary or inflated reference price.
- Confirm seller and fulfillment. Verify that the seller is authorized, the item is new rather than open-box, and the return window covers your region.
- Read the port specifications. Look for explicit HDMI bandwidth and supported refresh-rate details if you plan to connect a gaming PC or a console.
- Review warranty terms. Warranty coverage, service availability and included accessories can differ between countries and regional model suffixes.
What this means for PS5, Xbox and PC gamers
The UR8S’s VRR and low-latency features are relevant to consoles and PCs, but the available specification does not identify console-specific compatibility, HDMI port count or measured latency. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles commonly target up to 120Hz, so the panel’s 180Hz ceiling would be most useful with a compatible PC source; it does not automatically make a console run at 180Hz. Confirm the retailer’s complete HDMI and supported-mode table before assuming a particular console configuration.

How the UR8 compares with other gaming TVs
A fair comparison requires data that has not yet been published for the UR8S and equivalent competing models. Use the following checklist when comparing it with another 65-inch gaming television:
| Comparison point | UR8S information currently available | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Refresh rate | 180Hz panel | Controls the maximum advertised refresh capability |
| VRR | Supported | Helps synchronize frames and reduce tearing |
| Gaming latency | No independent measurement stated | Measured lag is more useful than a marketing mode name |
| HDR brightness | Not stated | Affects highlight impact and HDR visibility |
| Color gamut | Up to 100% BT.2020 claimed by Hisense | Indicates potential color range, not guaranteed accuracy |
| HDMI 2.1 connectivity | Port count and bandwidth not stated | Determines which inputs can carry high-refresh signals |
| Viewing angles | Not stated | Important for seating away from the center |
| Operating system and warranty | Not stated in the cited specification | Affects usability, updates and long-term support |
Bottom line for buyers
The Hisense UR8S stands out on paper for combining RGB Mini-LED, 4K resolution, a 180Hz panel, VRR and an automatic low-latency pipeline. Those features make it a model worth considering for high-refresh PC gaming and mixed entertainment. The “$900 off” figure and the claim that it is among the best gaming TVs remain unverified until a current retailer page supplies a price, seller, date and complete technical specification. Buy only after those details match your region and intended gaming hardware.
