Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallThe Hisense PX4 Pro has the hardware to make a compelling ultra-short-throw home cinema: an RGB triple-laser light source, a claimed 3,500 ANSI lumens, and gaming modes up to 240 Hz at 1080p. But its strongest specifications do not erase practical caveats: independent reviewers report inaccurate out-of-box color, raised blacks in bright scenes, a noticeable rainbow effect, and difficult placement. No cited official source confirms a forthcoming update or promises that firmware will resolve those issues. The PX4 Pro is promising, but “one software update away” remains a hypothesis—not a reason to buy it.
What the PX4 Pro is—and what its headline specs mean
The PX4 Pro is an ultra-short-throw (UST) projector designed to sit close to the screen, not a conventional projector that needs to be mounted far across the room. Hisense Singapore lists a 0.2 throw ratio and an 80–200-inch image range. That broad range still depends on having the right space and screen; an ambient-light-rejecting (ALR) screen is sold separately on that regional product page. Hisense Singapore’s PX4 Pro specifications are regional, so confirm the configuration sold where you live.

Hisense lists 4K UHD resolution (3840 × 2160), an RGB triple-color laser light source, 3,500 ANSI lumens, 6,500:1 contrast at Iris Level 7, and 118% BT.2020. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements. RTINGS characterizes the projector as pixel-shift 4K DLP; its review describes strong contrast in dark scenes and a wide color volume, while also identifying picture-quality shortcomings that the specification sheet cannot convey. RTINGS’ PX4 Pro review reports both the strengths and caveats.

Dark scenes and color are strengths, with important qualifications
RTINGS reports deep blacks in dark scenes and superb color volume. The qualification is that black levels rise in brighter content, so performance in a dark movie scene does not tell the whole story about contrast across different material. The same review says the default color is inaccurate and needs full calibration. That is a significant setup consideration for anyone expecting a polished picture immediately after installation.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Rainbow effect and processing may affect your experience
RTINGS found the rainbow effect noticeable. Viewers vary in how sensitive they are to it; the review does not establish that every viewer will find it distracting. What Hi-Fi’s September 18, 2026 review describes an initial image that looked over-processed, with overbaked color and excessive motion smoothing. That reviewer improved the presentation by choosing Filmmaker Mode, Warm 2, dynamic tone mapping, and Film motion. Those are one reviewer’s reported settings, not a guaranteed ideal preset for every unit, room, or source. What Hi-Fi’s PX4 Pro review details that experience.
Could a software update fix the PX4 Pro’s problems?
Some picture-processing behavior and the controls available for calibration could plausibly be affected by software. But the available official product and launch pages do not announce an imminent firmware update or identify a specific fix for color, black levels, motion processing, or the interface. RTINGS’ page records changes to its review, including corrections to its own brightness and effective-contrast sections; those review-page updates are not evidence of a projector firmware release. Hisense’s US availability announcement and Singapore product page describe the product but do not promise such a fix.

Other caveats are less plausibly solved with an update. The rainbow effect is associated with the image-forming technology and viewer sensitivity; placement limits follow from the optical design and the room geometry. Software cannot add optical zoom or lens shift. Treat firmware as a possible aid to processing or controls, not as a confirmed cure for the projector’s trade-offs.
Placement is a real part of the buying decision
RTINGS describes the PX4 Pro as heavy and limited in positioning flexibility. It has no optical zoom or lens shift, and keystone adjustment may not always work as intended. For a UST projector, the screen, cabinet, projector position, and image size need to work together; do not assume keystone correction will rescue a poor physical fit.

Before committing, measure the intended screen area and the surface where the projector will sit, then confirm the image size and placement requirements for the exact regional model. If you are considering the largest advertised image, check that the room and screen can accommodate it. The 80–200-inch range and 0.2 throw ratio on Hisense Singapore’s page are manufacturer-listed figures, not a guarantee that every room can achieve every size cleanly.
Gaming: 240 Hz is not 4K 240 Hz
Hisense Singapore lists 4K at 60 Hz and 2K at 120 or 240 Hz. It also lists an input lag of at most 20 ms, FreeSync Premium, VRR, ALLM, and MEMC. These are manufacturer claims for that regional listing. The 240 Hz mode is at 2K, not 4K; What Hi-Fi likewise describes 1080p/240 Hz gaming. Check the resolution-refresh combinations supported by the specific input and regional model before buying for a particular console or PC. Hisense’s Singapore specification page lists the modes.

Smart platform, connections, and regional differences
The Singapore specification page lists VIDAA U9, AirPlay 2, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, two HDMI 2.1 ports, and two HDMI 2.0 ports, with eARC on HDMI 3. RTINGS notes that the PX4 Pro uses VIDAA, whereas the PX3 Pro uses Google TV. If your app preferences matter, verify the apps and features on the exact local version rather than assuming regional models or projector lines share a platform.
Recommended Free Tools
RTINGS’ comparison also identifies the PX3 Pro as having a smaller stated 90–130-inch range and no iris or VRR in its comparison table. Those details should not be generalized to every regional version. The comparison is useful as a checklist of trade-offs, not a substitute for checking the model available in your market. RTINGS’ review and comparison provides that context.

Who should consider the PX4 Pro?
- It may suit you if you want a large UST image, value vivid color and dark-scene performance, can accommodate the installation constraints, and are willing to calibrate or adjust picture settings.
- Think carefully first if you are sensitive to rainbow effects, want accurate color without calibration, need flexible placement, or expect a software update to correct known issues.
- For gaming, match the listed refresh rate to its resolution: the advertised 240 Hz mode is 2K, while the listing specifies 4K at 60 Hz.
- For any purchase, compare measured brightness and black levels, calibration results, rainbow-effect sensitivity, placement flexibility, smart platform, screen requirements, and local warranty and availability—not only the headline specifications.
Verdict
The PX4 Pro has substantial strengths, particularly its RGB triple-laser approach, dark-scene performance reported by RTINGS, and high-refresh gaming modes at lower-than-4K resolution. Its weaknesses are not minor footnotes: calibration, brighter-scene black levels, rainbow visibility, and restrictive placement can determine whether it works in a particular home. There is no verified update roadmap that changes that assessment. Buy it for the hardware and a room that suits it, not on the assumption that future software will deliver the finished picture.
