Independent reviewers found strong dark-scene contrast, rich color and responsive gaming, but also noted weaker-looking bright content and picture accuracy that benefits from adjustment. Its fit depends on careful screen placement, room lighting, regional smart-TV features and the cost of the screen you choose.
What the Hisense PT1 is—and what its 4K label means
Hisense positions the PT1 as an entry-level TriChroma ultra-short-throw (UST) projector, below its PX3-Pro and L9Q models. It uses an RGB laser light engine and a Texas Instruments 0.47-inch DLP micromirror chip. ProjectorCentral reports that four-way, 240Hz pixel shifting is used to produce a 4K on-screen image resolution. That is not the same as a native 4K imaging chip.

Hisense lists an 80–150-inch projection range, 2,500 ANSI lumens, a claimed 3,000:1 contrast ratio and 110% BT.2020 color coverage. These are manufacturer specifications or claims, not independent measurements of what every PT1 will deliver in a particular room. The company also lists Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG support, IMAX Enhanced, Filmmaker Mode, active 3D and a two-year warranty.

Will it fit your room and screen?
The PT1’s 0.2 throw ratio is designed for close placement to the screen. ProjectorCentral’s placement calculation puts the lens 17 inches from the screen for a 100-inch image. That is a lens-to-screen reference, not the total space the installation requires: the projector cabinet also takes up room, and the required position changes with image size.

Before buying, use the placement diagram for your intended screen size and measure the entire setup, including the cabinet, screen position and any furniture or wall constraints. Hisense specifies an 80–150-inch image range; a screen within that range still needs a suitable physical position and viewing distance.
A screen is part of the setup decision, not a universally interchangeable extra. Hisense offers PT1 bundles with ambient-light-rejecting (ALR) screens, but the appropriate screen depends on the room’s light, desired image size and projector placement. Compare the complete setup cost and confirm that the screen is intended for a UST projector.

How does the picture look in independent reviews?
RTINGS describes the PT1 as a compelling option for a large, clean image, with good overall contrast and rich colors. Its review says dark scenes are a particular strength. It also reports that the brightest content can look less rich and that the picture is not very accurate out of the box; tuning improves the results.

RTINGS tested a unit manufactured in July 2025 and updated its review on September 14, 2026, after converting it to Test Bench 1.0. Those findings are useful evidence about the model, but they are reviewer results rather than a guarantee of identical performance in every room, screen or unit.

- 65" TO 200" SUPER WIDE PROJECTION SIZE: Bring everyone together for a relaxing backyard movie night with up to 200 inches of breathtaking 4K detail, bigger screen and brighter colors for a true cinematic experience.

- AI-POWERED COLOR ENHANCEMENT: Intelligently analyzes and enhances your content frame by frame. Experience natural skin tones and richer details in every scene.
Hisense’s brightness, contrast and color-coverage figures should therefore be read as specifications, not as a promise that the PT1 will look equally bright, contrasty or saturated under all viewing conditions. If you watch in a bright room or prioritize vivid, bright HDR scenes, pay particular attention to the reviewer caveat about bright-content richness and consider how much control you have over room light.
Is it a good fit for gaming?
RTINGS calls the PT1 a solid gaming choice, citing low input lag at 120Hz and 240Hz. The review does not provide a specific input-lag figure in the findings summarized here, so those refresh-rate use cases should not be mistaken for a quoted millisecond measurement. Check that the exact console or PC, connection and game mode you plan to use match the features you need.

- 【4K AI Upscaler】PX3-PRO supports native 4K resolution and uses AI upscaling to convert lower-resolution content into detailed 4K images. Discover subtle variations in skin tones, cerulean sky, and rosy cheeks, and the richest and most realistic colors ever. Redefine your viewing experience, movies or natural scenery.
Against Hisense’s PX3-Pro, RTINGS gives the PT1 the gaming-responsiveness edge. The PX3-Pro is reported as brighter and more accurate out of the box, while the PT1 is somewhat smaller, lighter and quieter under full load. This is a choice between reviewer-observed strengths, not a claim that one model is better for every room or buyer; compare current prices and the importance of brightness, picture tuning and gaming response in your setup.
Which smart platform and connections will you get?
Configuration varies by market. RTINGS reports Google TV on US PT1 units and VIDAA U7.6 on some UK and European listings. Do not assume that every regional unit has the same interface, apps or streaming support. Confirm the platform and the services you use on the exact regional SKU before purchase.

RTINGS notes three HDMI inputs, including an eARC port, as well as USB-A ports, Ethernet and optical output. Because port labels and configurations can vary, verify the connections on the unit being sold if a particular audio system or source device is essential to your setup.
Hisense lists 46W integrated audio output. That describes the manufacturer’s built-in speaker specification; whether it is sufficient depends on room size and listening preference. The eARC and optical connections may matter if you plan to route sound to external equipment.
What does the PT1 cost, and what else might you need?
Prices in the available snapshots are not a single current or universal price. Hisense announced the US model on September 30, 2025, at a $2,999 launch price. On October 7, 2026, its US shop displayed $1,999.99 against $2,999.99 and marked the product “Sold out.” What Hi-Fi?’s August 31, 2026 review page listed £1,599, $2,199 and AU$2,500. These are different markets and page snapshots; check a live local listing and the exact SKU before treating any figure as an offer.
Budget for the screen as well as the projector, and check what is included in any bundle. If you want to use active 3D, ProjectorCentral says the PT1 uses DLP-Link glasses and that glasses are not supplied. Confirm the compatibility and contents of the particular package you are considering.
Who should consider the Hisense PT1?
The PT1 makes the most sense for someone who wants a large UST image, can accommodate the required screen and projector position, and values dark-scene contrast, color and gaming responsiveness. It is a less straightforward choice if you need strong bright-room performance, expect highly accurate picture settings without adjustment, or depend on a particular regional streaming platform. Weigh those trade-offs against the PX3-Pro’s reported brightness and out-of-box accuracy, then compare the complete local cost—including a suitable screen—before deciding.
