The 85-inch Hisense U6 Pro, model 85U6SF Pro, is a ULED MiniLED 4K Fire TV with strong measured brightness and useful gaming features. But “unbeatable” brightness and “great gaming” need qualification: one independent review found higher HDR brightness from some competitors, and another flagged blurry motion despite low input lag and VRR. Most published measurements cited here come from 65-inch review samples, not direct tests of the 85-inch unit.
What the 85U6SF Pro is—and what the reviews actually tested
Hisense identifies the 85-inch set as the 85U6SF Pro, part of its U6 Pro series. It combines a 4K MiniLED display with Fire TV. Hisense also markets the screen as glare-free and anti-reflective, but that is the manufacturer’s description rather than an independent measurement.

Size matters when interpreting the test results. RTINGS says its review findings apply to the 55-, 75-, 85-, and 100-inch versions, while noting that little is known about size-specific differences. Its tested sample was 65 inches. Tom’s Guide also reports measurements from its review sample; the available results do not establish that its brightness or latency figures were measured on the 85-inch model. Treat them as evidence about the reviewed U6SF Pro sample, not guaranteed specifications for every size.
How bright is it in a bright room?
Tom’s Guide measured 358 nits of SDR brightness and 1,265 nits of HDR brightness, each at a 10% window, on its U6SF Pro review sample in 2026. The reviewer said highlights held up in a bright room. RTINGS likewise characterizes peak brightness as very good and sufficient to overcome glare, while observing that small HDR details are not as bright as they could be.
#1 Best Overall
- HI - QLED MINILED: Striking contrast and vivid, lifelike color put every scene in a new light. Whether it's a sunny landscape or a candlelit drama, the picture leaps off the screen. Mini-LED backlighting uses hundreds of precise light zones to enhance contrast across the screen. Paired with Hi-QLED technology, every color comes through with stunning depth and accuracy
- NATIVE 144HZ REFRESH RATE: Fast breaks, high-speed chases, live finales — every frame stays crisp and fluid, so the action is always exactly where you need it to be. Native 144Hz refresh performance keeps movement fast and sharp, reducing blur during gameplay and live sports. The quick response helps you stay in control during competitive gaming while making rapid camera shots in shows and movies easier to follow
- BUILT-IN SUBWOOFER: Immersive deep bass from the built-in subwoofer pulls you into the heart of the moment, from the rumble of an explosion to the thump of your favorite song. Feel like you’re a part of the action
- ANTI-REFLECTION & GLARE-FREE: Bright rooms are no match for this screen. The anti-reflection and glare-free display keeps your view clean and distraction-free, so you stay focused on what matters — the show
- UNIBODY SLIM DESIGN: Edge-to-edge display and a seamless design that disappears into your room — so all you see is the picture
Those results support calling the TV bright, especially for everyday SDR viewing, but not “unbeatable.” In Tom’s Guide’s own 2026 comparison table, the U6SF Pro led the listed competitors in SDR brightness, while two were brighter in HDR:
| TV in Tom’s Guide comparison | SDR brightness (10% window) | HDR brightness (10% window) |
|---|---|---|
| Hisense U6SF Pro | 358 nits | 1,265 nits |
| TCL QM7L | 196 nits | 2,270 nits |
| Samsung S85H | 230 nits | 770 nits |
| Hisense U7 | 185 nits | 2,866 nits |
These are Tom’s Guide test results, not universal rankings or current model specifications. They show why “bright” depends on what you watch: the U6SF Pro was notably strong in SDR in that comparison, while the U7 and QM7L produced brighter HDR highlights under the publication’s test conditions. The figures alone do not establish which set is the better value at today’s prices.

Hisense says its anti-reflection screen is intended to keep the image clear in bright rooms. Independent review observations are consistent with useful bright-room performance, but they do not verify that every room, viewing angle, or lighting condition will look glare-free.

The gaming verdict depends on whether you mean responsiveness or motion clarity. Tom’s Guide measured 9.3 milliseconds of input latency on its review sample and described PlayStation 5 play as satisfying. It reports support for native 144Hz refresh, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, variable refresh rate (VRR), and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). RTINGS also reports VRR, HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, and extremely low input lag.

Those features can help controls feel responsive and reduce tearing, but they do not guarantee a crisp image during fast movement. RTINGS calls gaming performance just decent because the TV’s high CAD (cumulative absolute deviation, a motion-blur measure) makes games look very blurry. For fast competitive games, that motion softness may matter more than a low latency figure. If possible, assess motion using the kinds of games you play; a responsive control feel and clear moving objects are separate qualities.

Tom’s Guide found color reproduction accurate on its sample. It measured 98.85% Rec. 709, 96.1% UHDA-P3, and 75.12% Rec. 2020 gamut coverage in 2026. These are results from that reviewer’s sample, not guarantees for the 85-inch set.

The same review observed some MiniLED blooming: a bright object or text can produce a halo against a dark background. That is a local-dimming artifact to weigh alongside the set’s brightness, particularly if you often watch dark films with subtitles or bright highlights on black scenes. RTINGS’ caution about small HDR details also points to a distinction between impressive overall peak brightness and the rendering of tiny highlights.

Who should consider the 85-inch U6 Pro?
The U6 Pro is worth considering if you want a very large screen, watch in a bright space, and value responsive gaming features more than the cleanest motion in fast action. Its measured SDR brightness is a particular strength in Tom’s Guide’s comparison, while HDR brightness is strong but not the highest among the listed sets.
Before choosing it, compare the exact 85-inch model against alternatives available at the time you shop. Look beyond peak brightness to input latency, motion clarity, blooming, and the price you can actually get. The available test figures do not establish a current price ranking, and they are not direct 85-inch measurements.
Check the model number on the live listing: the US 85-inch product is identified as 85U6SF Pro. Hisense’s product page confirms that identity. A retailer listing, such as Best Buy’s 85-inch product page, is a place to verify current availability and listing details, not evidence of a stable price.
